Are there different grades within the brands itself? like Yoko maybe have standard to premium grade tires. Should I ask for more info on the "premium" grade tires offered so everyone can kindly help me decide :)
Ask the rep for the series of Yokohama and Toyo's. Just as with sedans, Toyo's can be the cheap Proxes or the R888s. The standard dunlops on the Fortuner TRD Sportivo are decent enough, but if you want highway performance tires then you might have to pay a bit additional. To say that Yokohama or Toyo is better is difficult. It depends on the series of the tires not the brand itself. Toyo is made in Malaysia and so is Yokohama. Dunlops can be made in Thailand or in Japan by Sumitomo, Dunlop's mothercompany.

Depends where you live, but most big car audio shops can handle the shop without any problems.
On my old Pajero sport I had a Alpine camera installed (around 20,000 baht). The camera had night-vision so it was a bit expensive.
Kenwood, etc also makes good cameras. Look for S Rachanee sound in Samutprakan or Mirage Audio.

We repaired quite a few here in our shop. Brakes, oil filters are easy to find. Other parts are difficult.

Do you want to refinish the steering wheel or just buy a cover? A cover can be bought at any car accessory shop in the city. Look for autobacs thailand. They are a walk-in accessory and parts shop from Japan. Can't go wrong with them.

Yes something really wrong with this dealer. They don't want to say any details, which is really annoying.
Cancelled already, and will pick up car this month from dealer in BKK and will drive it to Chiang Mai.
The only thing I am really sad about - dealer in Chiang Mai offered me 5 years warranty and dealer in BKK only 3 years. They can offer warranty all they want if it's not Honda Motor Thailand offering the warranty it's probably not worth anything. Let's say the dealer in CM doesn't warranty your car after 4 years. What are you going to do about it? Sue them? Waste your time and money. I am happy you found another dealer we can get you the car. It's a good car and I hope you enjoy it.

They can even see on their computer the current situation at the factory for your car. They promised my car would arrive on 22 November 2016 and magically there it was on that day. They're obviously pushing you around or there is some sort of delay happening at the factory that they don't want you to know about.
Cancel the deposit, find another dealer.

No issues. I'll let you know if someone comes by and changes their nearly new tires :)

Having spent a few years in Japan, I can say that the car inspection (Shaken) over there is seriously strict. However, tires are usually inspected on thread wear and other kinds of damage, if the tire is older than 3 years they ask you to change it.

If you want good service with staff trained in Japan: http://www.glasscoatingclub.com/
This is also the place where I and my staff had our training :)

It's fairly easy to buy a good set of decent second hand tires with a bit of knowledge.
Points to watch out for:
1. Manufacturing date: written on the side wall. The first two numbers are the manufacturing week, the last two numbers are the year.
2. Repair: Take a look at the inside of the tire and spot any signs of repair
3. How much tread is remaining?
Many people in Thailand (including me) change the tires and rims on their new cars to modify the looks of their car a bit.
There is an abundance of good, barely used second-hand tires.

Hey Neil,
We operate a tire shop here in Kalasin.
Actually soon I will be upgrading my own set-up from 16 inch to 18 inch (new car).
The tires on my car are Vredestein Sportrac 5 215/55/16 with around 3000 km on them. They have a build-date of 1516, so are made in 2016.
My civic came with crappy tires and since we are the distributor for Vredestein in Kalasin, I was able to get these pretty decent tires.

PM if you're interested.
FYI for my 18 inch set-up I will again go with Vredesteins :)

What rim size?

Depending on what model of Captiva you have, if you remove the battery you need to re-enter the security code for the radio. I can see that B-quick doesn't want to change the battery to avoid any issues with it.
My shop also doesn't do battery changes for certain models (Cruze, Captiva, new Mazda 3, etc).

Looks more like a cheap sealant (covering scratches) than a polish to me...

iCar Studio Co.,Ltd is famous around the samutprakan area...but be ready to pay for it.

Yes there is, this one had Dunflops. No doubt about that either.
Like I said, at the motorshow they have their dunlops on it. HBs at the dealer have yokos.

The hatchback at the show has dunlop direzzas judging from the pics.
The US sport version has 18" wheels, I guess with 235-40-18 tires. Looks cool.
Dunlop Direzzas are only for show, the car comes on yokos 100% sure. The cars at the dealers all have yokos no doubt about that.

That is odd ... all the HB's that I have seen had YOKO's. The RS at the Motor Show had B/S as ours did, so I assumed that Honda saved all the YOKO's for the HB. Maybe they have run out due to demand.
Hatchbacks = Yokos
Sedan RS = B/S
Sedan 1.8 = Dunlop EC300 or trash

Nice car! Now get some decent coating on it and protect that color for a long time :)

Many diesel engines makes are good and 520,000 miles on a diesel is doable but what's the full service history, must have had some further work carried out on it apart from the normal 10,000 km service record. ?
10,000 KM service might include changing belts etc at 100,000 km as it's included in the service.

Isuzu makes good engines. 400 km/day on average...seems like a delivery truck :)

The engine, transmission, and other mechanical parts of my 30,000 baht 1996 Peugeot 405 remain rock-solid, but the running/drivability issues related to the electronics (sensors, fuel injection, etc.) Keep getting worse, little by little.
My mechanic says there is nothing he can do about this as it is impossible to get any replacement sensors in Thailand. He suggests that the only solution will, eventually, be a Japanese transplant engine.
What a shame! Wish it was carbureted.
I have sent you a PM. I am sure your parts can be sourced within Thailand. Let me know the details.

Yeah just noticed that. Perhaps for Australia....would be nice if that exhaust could be bought as an accessory for the Thai version.
I saw them at the Honda Kalasin showroom this weekend...had to be there to pickup a car for coating. No RS badges and no central exhaust. Bridgestone tires instead of the better Yokohamas...no idea why.
