Well we visited Honda HQ at Bang Na, very professional very attentive what had been so lacking in KhonKaen

They have promised to resolve matters in the very near future and whilst they are doing this provide a loan car

I am very optimistic all will be properly resolved

As always with good reputable companies it is often necessary to go high enough to see the company philosophy is followed and complied with

    So far a happy customer

Happy it worked out for you ;-) Let us know the result. Luckily you didn't waste your time driving to their factories.

  2. Having worked with Japanese people for almost a decade now, what you SHOULD not do is drive all the way to Ayuthaya and go complain there. First of all you won't get passed security and do you really believe driving to the assembly plant will do you any good?

If you want to go and complain to the Marketing Manager then I recommend you go and visit Honda's head office at Bangna (next to the BTS).

Of course barging in their, screaming and demanding the problem gets resolved is not going to help you (it wouldn't help you in Europe either).

    My advice:

    1. Make an appointment at the Bangna dealer. Set the date and time.

    2. Explain them the issues which you have in detail on the phone and inform them that your dealer in KK cannot resolve the issues.

    3. Visit the dealer and see if they can resolve the issue.

Looks like the answer for you is ... get some '9H' put on ... prices have crashed so investigate ... wash it yourself. You can make it even easier for yourself using a foam attachment with a powerwash.  Get proper foam, not a 'cheepo' one ...

Then wax it every few weeks .....

As for waxing a ceramic coat, I recommend using GYEON cure...extend the 9H for a couple of years ;-)

How ironic. I was looking in the MG showroom today in Udon particularly at the MG5

The guy told me they are now assembled in Rayong. He did say the name of the company but i forget.

A couple of people I know who have the MG3 have spoken highly of them. As you say cheaper than the Honda.

The reviews I've read on the MG5 say the new turbo engine is better all round.

Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

Yes, they are assembled in Rayong at a factory set-up as a joint-venture of CP and SAIC.
You can read the article here: http://www.cpthailand.com/รวมคอลมน/tabid/129/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/2198/---MG--2557.aspx

As for their quality, I would give them another few years before considering them at the same level as other manufacturers.

Many of their cars are facing basic quality issues such as leaking door seals, breaking transmissions, paint fading, rust, etc.

Issues which are not taken care of by their dealers urgently leaving people completely in the dark regarding their car.

  5. My recommendation:

    1. Headlights: a decent xenon kit will be more than sufficient and as you have the projector lenses already, I would recommend it over a LED set-up.

In case you go for Xenon: I recommend going for an Osram Xenarc kit. They have 2 color options available: 4300K and 6500K.

I have 6500K in my civic and I am very happy with them.

In case you really would like to go for LEDs then I can only recommend buying PIAA or IPF headlights.

IPF retails for around 8,500 THB in Thailand and comes in 2 color options: 2400K and 6500K (I have 2400K as fog lights).

PIAA retails here for around 9,500 THB. Only one option for headlights 6000K.

Both are Japanese brands and both design and manufacture their led lights in Japan in accordance with strict Japanese law.

This means, correct cut-off and no blinding of on-coming traffic.

    2. High beams: stick with halogens for your high beams as LEDs are not useful for them.

    3. Fog lights: white light looks good, but won't do much when there is fog (not sure there is fog in your heck of the woods).

I got yellow lights as it looks good with the white paint ;-)

you wouldn't have like address for RCA and Pornchai ?

I'll ask my wife for it. Or you could give me a list of what you need and I'll ship it out to you. We operate a parts shop in Isaan, but ship all over Thailand.

We deal especially in older cars (5 year up)

  7. Try the cheapest tickets (sidestand). I paid 150 THB...close to the track (as in 10 meter from the track) and while the grandstand was completely full and in the sun, the sidestand was covered in a nice shade and had 10 people sitting there. Even had a drink stand right outside the stand and a toilet.

  8. 190,000 THB for 3 months? I am sorry to say but that's outrageous.

Even a general manager at a decent firm in Bangkok doesn't earn 190,000 THB in 3 months. If she really claims these extra jobs then it's your insurance company's job to ask for her monthly income slips and see if she is telling the truth.

My advice: you and your wife stay out of the police station and let insurance handle. It's their job and you have nothing to worry about.

Can I know the insurance company?

Yes, Google maps is far superior to the Navi in the older models which is pretty much useless and I never use. In fact, I'd rather use a cheap Garmin any day to the Navi system with its slow speed and having many functions inaccessible while the car is moving.

Yes, the boot is massive especially with the seats folded down. Unfortunately, you can't fold the seats down with non-hatchback model.

The local dealer is being vague about exactly how much "cash back" with the current promotion and simply told me to ask the other dealers in the area and they’d match the price. :annoyed:

As far as I know (dealers in Kalasin and Khon Kaen): you get the money back for the white color so 10,000 THB. If you chose another color, no discount.
