Even the 50,000 expected tourists is a pipe dream. It was announced today that the Government still hasn't finished the paperwork required to allow the first arrivals to come in next week!

The school apparently charges 100,000 a term and doesn't have even a quarter of its teachers who are qualified! It should be shut down and fined heavily. Not only that a number of its teachers have been found to have been physically abusing pupils. Completely disgusting.

Having read the reviews and the responses I think that Barnes is a plonker for not responding to the hotel's request to deal with his spiteful reviews and then not to respond to the request to go to the police station in accordance with the writ. He then was in the legal process which sadly in Thailand makes Defamation a Criminal Offence and not a Civil Claim.
It would appear that TAT, or some other body, has stepped in to prevent further damage to Thailand's reputation and asked both parties to negotiate a settlement. Barnes in my opinion is in the wrong, even in Civil Claims, for a malicious defamation made for malicious reasons. He will probably part with a brown envelope and I expect that any settlement will be called amicable and the details kept secret. However Barnes might have to pay for an advertisement stating that he has withdrawn his reviews.

There is wonderful artistic painting of agogo dancers here already and happy hours with cheaper prices. Just make the soft drinks cheaper too and let in family groups and call visits to agogos educational tours!

Probably the poster of this video will get 7 years in jail for posting an obscene video and the <deleted> be fined 200 baht.

The hotel management have probably done a runner to avoid paying redundancy and unpaid wages. This is no different from theft they should be arrested for what they have done.

Sadly no one over 75 can get a Thai company to insure them although travel insurance companies provide such insurance at far cheaper rates than the Thai carriers. At 73 I was paying under 72k a year with Seven Seasons Insurance.

I write reviews on hotels and restaurants because I think that impartial reviews are helpful for future customers. This guy went over the top with a highly emotive review. Whilst the hotel has gone way over the top by making a complaint for Defamation karma will hit them in the face. The negative impact of their action has only brought more unwelcome attention to their apparent attitude to guests. It could also lead people to doubt reviews of any Thai hotel or restaurant.

Rich school poor parents = poor compensation paid very late.

900 people coming in a week wouldn't even fill one beach yet alone all the beaches in Thailand. Just more hot air coming from idiots.

Phuket leaves a bad taste in the mouth the second you try and get a taxi into the city from the airport. The rip offs just continue throughout your stay. Everything is overpriced and restaurants selling Western food are much more expensive than those in Pattaya. I can't understand why anyone goes to that ripoff city.

And even if the whole of the 50,000 came all tourism woes would be over as this figure is very close to the 10,000,000 that came in the last quarter of 2019. TAT only seems good at making one pathetic announcement a day.

What I haven't yet seen is any cables being removed from the poles at the side of the street. In fact I have never seen cables removed only ugly and extra cables added to poles.

Immigration made it clear that people who took advantage of the amnesty had to file their 90 day report before the 26th of September. I have no idea from what date they may start claiming late reporting fees. I didn't take advantage of the amnesty as I didn't want to be caught in huge queues once the amnesty ended.

I think people posting are missing two points.
1. The details of the extension will be announced in the Royal Gazette.
2. Letters from your Embassy "may not be required"
Obviously until the details are officially announced in the Royal Gazette everything is speculation.

It was announced by the immigration HQ in Bangkok. Don't comment on an article without reading it, unless you like to look silly.
It's not law until announced in the Royal Gazette!

I came to Thailand the first time 40 years ago and it was a far better place open 24 hours a day. Pattaya ended at 2nd Road. All tourism has done is made tourist cities bigger, dirtier, full of cars and shopping malls. Sadly this has already happened and people have moved from the country to these cities so this can't be undone. The worst part of the tourism is the growth of group tours and their stupid coaches blocking the roads and parking places. They don't contribute anything to the smaller Thai owned businesses but only to the rich Thai Chinese owned businesses.

I had travel insurance with Seven Corners Travel Insurance which covered me 365 days a year for us$150,000. It was far cheaper than health insurance but only covered me for specific countries and not the UK. It could be extended 365 days at a time up to the age of 80. It also covered reparation costs to the UK on death. It didn't require a medical examination either.

Nothing in the Royal Gazette yet so this may or may not be news and might only apply to Phuket.

The Chinese Government has imposed internal flight bans between cities but isn't concerned if their citizens travel abroad. WOW.

Never mind the great TAT is coming to Thailand's rescue. From next week 900 tourists a week will be allowed in via quarantine prison to revive all of Thailand's tourism woes.

Its a straight road so the "spirits" must have turned his wheels and also he must have been driving quite fast to go so far in sand!

At least the school will be fined at least 400,000 baht for employing an illegal alien. The teacher will be fined for what he did and also fined and hopefully jailed for assault and working illegally. After serving his sentence he will be banned from returning to Thailand. Somnamna.
Abuse of children in schools: Just a small crack exploited by parents who want money, says Sarasas founder

Coupled with the statements that he could make more money by closing the schools and selling the land and greedy parents joining the band wagon trying to sue him for unwarranted claims of 2m baht for abuse of their children in his schools its pretty obvious that he's only interested in making money and not in educating children.
