    No amount of compensation will replace the dead. However, for the first time I can recall the figures mentioned are at least not ridiculously low.

    Aa I said the state pension is not a benefit. National Insurance has everything to do with how much you get. 35 years of full NI paid are needed for the full pension and 10 years or more to get anything.

    You recall incorrectly. The UK pension is not a hand out or a benefit, people have paid into it (National insurance) all their working life.

    The laws do need revising to allow smaller brewers into the market.

    Poor woman, trying to calm this nutter down with alcohol is the worst thing she could have done, it just made him worse. Getting far away from him would have been safer.

    It states she braked hard before the bend. Obviously she hadn't blacked out as braking would have been impossible. I'm only guessing, but possibly looking at the phone, driving too fast for the bend and then panic braking. A stupid waste of two lives.

    It makes you wonder how stable other roads are built in these mountainous areas. That's subsidence due to rain fall, that should be considered when building the road foundations.

    He should be forced to pay restitution to all those shops. Also a few weeks in jail followed by deportation and banned for life.

    That she had a photo seems odd. It does all sound strange, but to what goal? Insurance?

    Although the sidecar is a hazard on these major roads, it doesn't excuse the pick up driver. How can you fail to see a sidecar? No doubt playing with the phone.

    I never said it did. However, how do we know it was only verbal?

    Why should age command respect? Respect is earnt by being a decent person. Certainly no respect due in this case where the Grandma is an alcoholic and abuses the kids.

    The row boat sped across to the pier? A rowboat can't speed across normally. It sounds like the usual negligence.

    Indeed, in the west that would be automatic. Here they would no doubt argue he wasn't driving. Not considering he might well have done that after his little sleep.

    That needs to be fixed quickly, I hope those close to the subsidence are insured.
