It's all well and good to hope for that, and those are my sentiments too, but we have no idea what awaits after death.
It could be nothingness, obliteration, annihilation.
It could be instant reincarnation into another earthly life (shxxte or otherwise)
It could be - I hope - rebirth into a much better state of existence, never to return to here.
As Queens of the Stone Age sang - No One Knows
Cheers buddy
I don't think you'd want to come back. The odds are stacked against you finding a better state of existence.

Why 'fine him' ?.... it was an accident, he made a silly mistake... They happen all the time all over the world...
Its the same as if someone pulled out in front of someone else - its an an accident, no one gets fined for those sort of events.
He wasn't speeding or drunk etc...
Its called driving without due care and attention where I come from.

I live in Koh Phangan and there is always a good selection of Hawaiian shirts in the markets, at good prices. I first started wearing them when I bought a couple of Tommy Bahamas shirts in Santa Monica. Smarter than a t shirt on occasion.
Even though I live here, I would never show of my hairy armpits with some of the classless crap worn here.

I had endovascular surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm a few years back and following an ultrasound exam in BKK hospital Samui, it seems that the aneurysm may be leaking. To be sure, I need to have a CT Scan, using contrasting dye. The problem with this is that I have stage 5 ckd with a gfr of 15 and the dye is likely to finish off the kidneys and necessitate dialysis immediately. Obviously I need to see a good vascular surgeon ASAP. Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply Sheryl. We live in Koh Phangan, so Bangkok would probably make sense. As you have suggested, We need to see a specialist, who can advise us of the best way forward. The doctor at Surat Thani hospital, apart from the blood transfusions has given us folic acid and vitamin pills and told us to come back in 3 months (15 Jan) There are several problems that I can see for myself, the girl is very anemic and pale, even jaundiced and her spleen is obviously enlarged which is making it difficult for her to pee, although it doesnt hurt her.

My GF and I are looking after a 9 yo Thai girl, who has Thalassemia Beta and will be in need of this transplant, if she is to live a normal life. So far she has had 2 blood transfusions at the Surat Thani government hospital, at no cost, but as I will have to pay for surgery, I would be grateful if anyone knows of a pediatrician that specialises in this field that I can get in touch with.

The state of British politics almost demands a bit of outside help and Nigel Farage could be just what the doctor ordered. I reckon Maggie would approve.

Elon Musk craves attention and he probably sees Nigel Farage as a useful conveyance. Farage is going to go very close to being the UKs next PM and if Musk can help him get there Elon will once again share the limelight.

Any update from you? A trip report. Curious. Thanks
Nothing yet hk. We`ve had our house painted and a few repairs here and there taken care of, but the road where we live is flooded at the moment and the concrete road that the authorities have promised us is on hold until the rain abates. When we get round to a visit, I`ll certainly give you an update

I can use the local healthcare for cheap money, but after seen their services, most places around in Thailand, the only place so far I would gamble on, is Hua Hin
Can you elaborate please, I'm thinking of moving to Hua Hin and I'd like opinions on local hospitals, both private and government. Thanks

Well yeah, I am old. Thank god I have Salvation ala mode and a cup of tea.
I saw them in concert 3 times.
I saw them at the Isle of Wight festival in 1970, brilliant!

Thanks! Enough info now to run around and find it.
Twinings Earl Gray Black Tea (if I find them!) bag prices are gone so high this is better for me.
I buy earl grey tea bags from Lazada. 25 bags for ฿69.00, excellent product

You do if you want to keep your bank account with Barclays, Lloyds or NatWest.
These 3 banks regularly and randomly debank expats.
I have had my natwest account for almost 50 years and I have lived in Spain for 2 years, France for 15 years, the UK for 23 years and here for 13 years, so stop spouting nonsense

So you admitted to living outside the UK most of the year and the bank got a bit nosey.
Nobody to blame but yourself (Europe is outside the UK).
Never admit to being outside the UK except for short holidays.
Have a UK SIM (for security SMS) and a UK (Skype) landline number (for phone calls).
It's not that hard!
No important information, nothing new, debanking expats happens regularly.
Usually to those who 'cannot tell a lie".
You said they called you, on a Thai SIM?
My main address is in France, I lived there for 15 years, the DWP know that and send life certificated there. There are too many of you that make false assumptions and yes they also know that I spend most of the winter in Thailand. You dont have to be in the UK for 6 months, I thought you knew that.

Reminds me of one of Ronald Reagans stories. This 80 year old man was telling everyone what a wonderful time he was having with a 22 year old woman who lived with him. Regular sex, great food and a loving girl friend. As he was telling the story in the local pub, he began to cry and they asked why he was crying. Ive forgotten where I live, he said
