I just think it's their problem if they are missing out.  I am satisfied with everything I do and don't do, therefore I stopped caring about anyone else.  People used to laugh at me for paying 400 baht for a "fake" watch that ended up lasting for years on the same battery.  Then I was like, "Never doubt me again."  They said, "Tyree, you da man."  Now most people listen to me and those who still don't eventually will.  More people eat street food now because they I'm still not dead.

Anyway, I just ate street food for lunch - there were - as the OP said, Thai labourors, there were the girls from my office, there were some lawyer looking types - people from all walks of Thai life eating delicious food at 25 baht a go.

Oh, im a cruel cruel woman (and a snob!)

I think I saw my first real life "Chav" the other day, but just need to check.

Chav's are a new thing to me as they werent really around when I was in the UK (well they were, but they werent called Chav's then)

So this ugly Farrang guy was on the back of a motorbike (with a dodgy looking Thai guy) he had a shell suit style shiny black coat on, which was worn hanging off the shoulders (like I used to do in school when I wanted to look cool!) and nothing underneath, just bare skin with a huge ENGLAND tattoo accross his back.  Nice

He had a Burberry hat on, white addidas shorts, an Nike trainers with socks 

He was covered in spots and had gold earings up his ears.  Oh and to top off this lovely image, as I pulled up close to them on the bike (for a better look!)  He shouted something at me along the lines of "Awight Daaarlin"

Please confirm, was this a real life Chav?  If so, then following along the lines of another thread about Horrible People in Samui, then this might just be a good example of some of the vile people that seem to be coming more and more to this lovely island

Fairly shallow of you to label him as a horrible person if in your eyes he was ugly , I'm sure you are not but that is the impression one gets from this post.

If you had seen him dealing drugs or smashing someones head in then I agree , but a few spots and a dodgy taste in Scouse clothing does not make a person horrible. There are plenty of " Horrible" people in Samui , looks are not the criteria.

I never implied that the reason he was horrible was because he was ugly and spotty, I was actually saying that he looked like a Chav, who have been labelled by some people as horrible English people.

I was really just having a dig at my fellow Englishmen, just making fun.

Anyway, I have seen lots of these people in the past and in my experience they are horrible.

Mine will be to stop loosing large amounts of money when out drinking. And same as every year I will not stick to it!

Also to go running on the beach again every day!

Its flippin freezin today, cant seem to warm up. I really really hope this weather starts to improve, although it doesnt bother me when im at work, it will bother me when im off work over Christmas and dying to go to the beach!!!

I will be going to the beach (if the sun ever comes out)

Then I will be drinking, drinking and drinking, followed by a Traditional Christmas dinner in Samui, followed by more drinking and a big party with lots of close friends.

This will probably be a trend throughout Christmas week! Quite looking forward to it although I dont feel very Christmassy at all, this weather does help. But im sure I will get more into the spirit of things on the day

My status is Happily married to a thai here in the uk with a daughter currently in LOS. If I bring her over then I will have to stay for at least 5 years to maximise her education here.

Sorry - just didnt quite understand - you are married to a Thai in the UK, but your daughter is in Thailand? - how old is your child and why isnt she with you - just curious.
