I see you chose for some reason to post it in a different topic;
So apologies for that remark.
Although, as I said in that topic, you have rather cherry picked from the Standard article I linked to above.
Forget about it. My Thai Life hates all Muslims, bottom line, no arguing it.

What a complete and utter mess. I would be interested to know what nationality the English teacher is. I will have a guess at this and say Fillipino or Thai.
Filipino teachers are far better than you're giving them credit for.
Could also be German, French, ,or some where in Africa teachers.

This is a great example in the result of most good English teachers leaving the country due to the insane requirements needed now to stay in the country. So they fill the positions with Filipinos and pay them 10,000 baht a month. Very sad indeed.
Where are you getting the 10k baht figure?
Filipinos are making a little more than double that.

I'm a native speaker and have been teaching 6 years here.
I think I have been very lucky that my Thai co teachers have had very good English.
They've also had the good sense to have me double check their tests, and if they had any grammar/spoken English questions before their lesson they weren't shy about asking me.
That's the sign of a good teacher and I've met many here.

Why would teaching English be considered beneficial to the country when English is not even an official languge in Thailand,
if you say trade benefits then Chinese would certainly be benefical as a language as that is the future
The Chinese tourists coming to Thailand communicate with English. It's the language of travel.
Absolutely a benefit for the country.

So Trudeau isn't a Muslim hater so that makes him a jihadist.
And you're calling other people thick? Pathetic.

.....I’m a Canadian...and happen to be a libertarian who loves individual freedom, personal responsibility and smaller government.
I hate socialism/communism, fascism/Nazism, dictatorial theocracy like Iran.... and every other form of dictatorial totalitarian/authoritarian government.
We can easily observe there are many people, even here, who love some version of authoritarianism/dictatorialism. Very sad....
Conflating socialism/communism/fascism/Nazism/dictatorial theocracies all together is disingenuous.
Canada is a democracy with some socialist leanings.
Nothing like communism or fascism.
We have Universal Health Care and Social Security . Total freedom US style wipes out universal health care and employment benefits. If you want that then become an American with total freedom to pay through the nose for health benefits.
My elevator may not go to the top floor but it gets me up enough to recognize social benefits are a good thing.

I stand corrected. This is a great idea for Bangkok teachers, not so much for anyone else.

From 2007 until 2011, foreign teachers could sit the TCT Professional Knowledge Tests. 4,000 THB for 4 exams. Now, one could enrol a one year graduate diploma in education course or equivalent which are accredited by the TCT and will lead to the TCT teacher license. The costs are around 60,000 THB for a Filipino course and 150,000 THB for a British course.
Currently you can get a maximum of 3 temporary teaching permit aka waivers. Each permit has a maximum validity of 2 years.
True, but to spend 150k baht and with no income for a year you would need to spend about 500k baht to get a teaching license. That's a lot for a 30k a month job.

Your statement isn’t really true. The TCT gave all foreigners enough time to do an additional course to upgrade an existing BA. A Diploma in Teacher Education does the trick and the TCT will issue a license for you.
Even for those who haven’t got a BA, it’s possible to obtain a BA in education, mostly online with a couple of “face to face” lessons.
A few years back the TCT somehow lost track of the issued waivers and people started over being on their first provisional license.
His statement is true.
The Thai Culture course and tests TCT gave haven't been offered for several years. A Diploma in Teacher Education takes a year of full time uni study. You can't get a Bachelor of Education online with "a couple of “face to face” lessons".

Yeah... I comprehend fine, but hey you keep on defending China though.
If you comprehend, no one has been pro China. All I have been saying is that they have the right to conduct military exercises like every other country in the world.
With the US history of using force where ever they want I'd have my military conducting exercises against possible American intervention as well.
You keep accusing other countries of being too chicken to stand up to China.
What about the US refusal to denounce Saudi Arabian human rights violations?
You won't even back Canada when it stood up and called Saudi out on its treatment of two bloggers in prison for demanding women's rights. Great Americans ignoring human rights abuses for profit.

The world's hatred eh?
Yeah go on and tell me again how you are just an objective and unbiased observer here who isn't pro china or anti America.
It'll be a less cowardly copout this time around.
Most of the world dislikes American foreign policy. I don't dislike Americans just the foreign policy. I've said that over and over but you just see it as anti American.
I'm not pro China, but I believe they have every right to conduct military games.
You have constantly called me cowardly and not man enough to face the music but I'm using my real name. You're using an alias which I have to say is questionable.

That is utter BS.
I have a long family history with the US.
My comments about China aren't meant in any way supporting your accusation that I want to see America fail and the Chinese to fill the void. Utter ignorance.
You are beginning to sound like the stereotypical American which a lot of people hate.
I'm not going to admit that I hate the US because I don't. I dislike some Americans just like I dislike people whom I don't get along with.
UncleTouchyFingers? Are you sure that's an appropriate internet name.

See, you think China and the US are equals. Equal goods. Thats an opinion I do not share with you, and if you feel that way - up to you. Sure explains alot about you though. You want China to rise and gain influence (PS They were targeting Allies too) thats on you.
I'm not pro China.
I have just suggested they haven't done anything the US hasn't done.
I am not for or against if they rise or not and gain influence.
They'll do what they do and we have to be ready for it.
You have suggested the US can do anything nasty they want but no other country can.

But hey man if youre cool with that.. Up to you
What is China doing with their hypothetical plans that the US isn't?
Why is it sinister for China to do it but ok with the US?

People deserve their cancer. If they had spent more on their food than on their mobile, they could still be alive.
Outrageously insulting.
Blaming people for getting cancer is disgusting, insulting, and disgraceful.
I've had it twice and have had a decent, well balanced diet all my life.
I didn't get a mobile phone until 5 years after cancer treatment so that has zero to do with it.
Growing up overseas I learnt how to make most foods from scratch and have always cooked with a minimum of processed foods.
You owe cancer survivors an apology
ps I've been alive 11 years since treatment and am still alive.
The next thing I'd say to you would get me a suspension.

The point is when China becomes all too powerful then kiss goodbye to the world as you know it, Look around you, go to Cambodia and criticize China, if you dare, thats why i will side with the imperfect good guy that has had Nixon, Kissinger, & others running the show very badly & killing thousands of people, because a democracy can renew itself wheras as dictatorship cannot.
Incoherent drivel. I have no idea what you meant.

The thing is, expats in Thailand don't, on the whole, go around killing innocent people because the Thai government makes them report on where they are living every 90 days.....
Key words, "on the whole"
Are you suggesting expats would be killing innocent people were it not for the 90 day reports?

Good no more Pearl Harbours! The poor buggers are about to repeat history in the Pacific and get their asses fried real good. Make sure the USA finishes the job so we can have one china with the capital in Teipei with an elected government of the people. History shows that democracies dont go to war against each other.
Many countries practice military exercises for far fetched scenarios.
You're assuming the Chinese are actually going to try and start a war with the US.
It won't happen.
Your statement about finishing the job so "we" can have one China is why globally US foreign policy is hated.
History shows US bullying of every country in the world which won't bend to their whims.

Question if i can sue someone

Too funny. Everyone is assuming the recipient was Thai. I've lent a couple of Thai friends money and have always gotten it back. There's a farang hanging in my neck of the woods who owes thousands to other farang. No one is hopeful they'll get the return of their money.
