Whats Trump got to do with it? Right or wrong the local government reports the official death toll. A hundred different sources can do studies and it still does not change the local govt official death toll.
Puerto Rico's gov't commissioned the independent review from George Washington University, accepted the results and and issued them as the official death toll.

I'm not talking about your pick-up truck. You are.
I'm talking about your attitude towards an alleged rape victim and the police here.
You're goading him into saying "yes I believe the police are corrupt" like most people do believe so that you can come back and say all 10 deaths on Koh Tao most likely are murders then.
Disingenuous.

I think one or two posters are missing the point.
Instead of taking the opportunity to take a long and hard look at the quality of the food that they are eating and the chemicals that they handle, they instead attempt to attack the messenger.
The fact that the Europeans are resisting the worst of the American excesses is to be commended. Other countries perhaps have a lesser ability to protect their markets.
We don't want your genetically modified organisms. Your chlorinated chicken and hormone injected beef. Your misleading labels.
Let#s not forget the recent Monsanto RoundUp debacle.
You create a cheese equivalent to a Grana Padano Riserva and call it Artisan. Suddenly any copy of a decent European cheese is Artisan.
That's my point. Produce a food to European standards and it is considered an Artisan produced product.
So perhaps lobby for higher standards, rather than posting crap about protecting the world.
On this I mostly agree with you. I'd like to point out that many Americans are also resisting the worst of the American excesses. The huge rise in micro and craft breweries, the growing popularity of farmer's markets, and also a growing craft cheese industry suggest many Americans are also uprising against poor food.

As others have mentioned OP is a troll post.
I don't know why a 12 year old living in mom's basement would be interested in trolling a Thailand Forum, but somehow he figured out how he could wind up a bunch of expats.

I would of thought English English was the correct English. If folk want to use/speak English in a different way that is up to them, but it is not English English...
There is no correct or incorrect. They've just evolved differently. Each English Native Speaking country has "correct" English correct for its region.

No such English words as donut or thru. Its doughnut and through.
Then why are they both in the dictionary?
You English are such snobs about your spelling being the correct one.
American spelling is 100% correct for the USA.

The story was her boyfriend asked her to hold the stash, the coppers searched her, and so on. I think they were both Brits. Happened at the FMP.

Its a fair point that when Koh Tao is involved in such accusations that mud will obviously stick, but that doesnt mean that just because it is KT that a rape actually happened
Although going by some of the members comments on here, there is no need to investigate, they all have it sewn up already, bless them
Im certainly looking forward to the conclusion to this and the backtracking sleuths with no evidence whatsoever
The posters claiming the girl is lying are asking for the evidence.
The posters who think her story might be valid are asking for the evidence.
Both sides would like to see an investigation.

Twice a year on my birthday and Christmas, I get a box from dear old Mom.
Never been tampered with. I don't waste my time with pop-tarts of course, I get Twizzlers, Miss Vicky's Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar chips, and Hawkins Cheezies and other assorted novelties.
I've ordered a ton on ebay without issue, just the occasional tax.
Never a problem with Thai Post. I always get it sent through post offices never courier.
No complaints.

It is but some people feel treats from home are worth it.

You've been criticizing her first reactions of 2 months ago, and at that point she "had just been raped." So rkidlad has every right to use the present perfect tense to ask you to put yourself in her shoes.
So many Brits whinge about us colonials "bastardizing " the English language, but you don't seem to comprehend it fully.

The Japanese invasion of Thailand occurred on 8 December 1941. It was briefly fought between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Empire of Japan. Despite fierce fighting in Southern Thailand, the fighting lasted only five hours before ending in a ceasefire.
In case anyone has a problem to call this a victory, with a version modernised with donations from our sponsors they could dress the statues in "Yellow Shirts" and rename it to: Victory over Thaksin Monument.
It wasn't about Japan.
It was built to commemorate Thailand's victory over some French colonies.

"You're convinced she got incredibly drunk, had sex consensually with someone then passed out".
You said that, not me, don't attribute that garbage quote to me.
"...so I resent people who claim to know "the truth."
It is entirely plausible that she is scared of the Thai judicial system".
Ho hum, you resent me? Do you resent yourself then, you seem to have an opinion diametrically opposite to mine, and a few other's opinions here, what makes your opinion the truth?
By the way if you can find where I said that I "claim to know the truth", please post it here, I'd love to see it.
It's the impression I'm getting from your posts which seem to blame the girl.
If my impression is wrong I apologize.
As far as I'm concerned there isn't enough information as to what she has told the Thai police or the British police
It's been reported she tried to make the rape report and RTP refused to record it.
There is no evidence for or against, I'm not forming an opinion.
I'm questioning those who seem to be against the girl 100%with no evidence for or against. I'm not defending nor condemning her.
Your posts seem to question her validity whereas I see a possibility that she's telling the truth..

They would have Thai contact details, not likely that they would take UK contact details for a lost phone!
She tried reporting the rape at Koh Phangan and the RTP wouldn't accept it.
You seem absolutely convinced she is lying when there isn't any evidence either way.
You're convinced she got incredibly drunk, had sex consensually with someone then passed out.
I'm not convinced one way or the other.
There aren't enough facts to convince anyone one way or the other, so I resent people who claim to know "the truth."
It is entirely plausible that she is scared of the Thai judicial system.
They're already arresting anyone who reported an "alleged" rape.
Reporting that someone made a rape allegation isn't fake news. She made a rape allegation.

I must admit I'm amazed by the number of Brits who nominate an Indian curry or Chinese as their first choice.
Australian, so a chunk of eye filet cooked medium, with a decent Aussie shiraz - Pepperjack or Booth's. For cheese, King Island Blue Brie. Asparagus in season.
Sounds good and I'm not Australian.

But I haven't been home to my country of origin for 24 years (not USA) so I can't answer the question.
Most Americans with the gumption to travel aren't typically fast foodies.
They're like others wanting to eat decent food.
I feel you are unfairly stereotyping them.

Parmesan Cheese? I don't think so.

I'm halfway between kneedeep and marcus on this topic.
I don't believe in order for something to be called "Parmesan" it had to come from a little Italian valley, with the right cows eating the right forage and breathing the sacred air.
North America is a land of immigrants who brought food making, wine making. and beer making skills with them. They tried to recreate what they had left behind with the ingredients they had at hand..
As with English language, the food and drink evolved. It became North American.
Canadian cheddar is different than English cheddar. Nothing right nor wrong about it. But to suggest it's not cheddar, I think is wrong.
It's up to the consumer to decide if it's better or worse. Kneedeep suggests it's always worse because it's not "real'" and from some specific valley.
Another example is Mexican food in USA. It's not authentic as it's evolved into either Tex-Mex or California-Mex. I much prefer that than authentic Mexican food. It's called fusion.
Every country in the world has a generic lager based loosely on Pilsner Urquel.
Some of them come close, but they're all different.
