The old Pattaya Administration no longer exists. The Army is in control and the Army wants to get rid of the GoGo business and as many spots that cater to underage workers, and foreign bar owners. Their plan is to keep restricting hours; dancing; and closing. Eventually the sexpats will head for greener pastures and the bar owners will disappear. Within 10 years most will be just a dream of the past. the goal of Pattaya is a place for Thais and their families as well as the Chinese. Neither need or want the current entertainment that exists. The people running this country are very conservative and want to improve Thailand's reputation in the World. This time the clean up is for real because even when there are elections the Army will still be looking over the shoulders of every local administration in every province.

Up to you 2am IS more than late enough. Enough people in Pattaya with serious alcohol problems as it is no need to exacerbate the problem

Amazing that for over a quarter century Ive swam at Pattaya and Jomtien Beaches a 1001 times but Ive never been sick or had ear infections or throat infections or anything whatsover

Definately not too long. Last trip March on Oman from Bangkok checked in 2 hours 50 before the motor was due to roll. Walked to immigration immediately and queue was at BOTTOM of escaltor proceeding up to scanners......time we reached scanners and then proceeded back down the other escaltor and finally through immigration is was 55 minutes to take off.

Get to check in 90 minutes before these days and you'll likely be offloaded for not turning up on final gate on time

It is only around Baht 2,000/2,500 return Air Asia from U-Tapao and the flight only takes one hour ten minutes.

Why bother with a ten hour bus ride?

Longer than 10 hours !! I drove from Buriram to Chang Mai with just a 30 minute break and it took 12 hours from right up there

Can't argue with that. Though, if I didn't get some sleep I would arrive at destination in a pretty bad way.

When we returned on EVA last week, I lived it up in the BKK EVA lounge a little too much. Had a few champagnes, a beer and main meal on flight and promptly went to sleep for six hours. I'm getting too old.

I've been comped up mutiple times over the years either air miles or Gold Cards when busy in economy. I was amazed that 90% plus went to sleep for like 9-10 hours !! They could down 30mg of Valium and do that for £1300 less in economy !! Bizarre

WKD is not sold in 7/11 or bars in general. It at least used to be sold in some liquor stores and a handfull of bars.
