  1. I wanted to edit that but wont let me

That gave 1gb data on recurring basis valid for 30 days

    Take your pick: http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/topping/index_en.html

    Examples:

    Dial*900*8816# 1.5 GB(FUP 128 Kbps) 199 + VAT recurring

    Dial*900*8836# 1 GB(FUP 128 Kbps) 179 + VAT non recurring

I'm cracking up. I cant see those two options in the link ??

Do you need to do so?

    http://truemoveh.truecorp.co.th/topping/4g_topping_en.html

Yes because have clicked on link left hand side of page saying internet plans and its taking me back to the code I listed in OP so thanks. I was more interested in that one as its "always on data" even at low speed which is fast enough to stream BBC radio. thanks

  2. Are codes always valid ( or at least for reasonable time)....??

The one I have used seems to have disappeared but at the same time I google up I see True offering multiple pages give multiple offerings !!

This is the one I ave used for some time *900*1801# and then call

  3. 1,400 baths per person back and forth in minibus Pattaya my condo -> My hotel in Koh Chang with Myoffice4travel

Now, the important question... How was the driver and the ride? Was he okay, or a kamikaze?

Strangely enough thats exactly my memory of Pattaya Koh Chang in that the driver was a lunatic

  4. Where is the VPN server located? If it's in a far country it will slow you down. Also, free VPN's can sometimes get overloaded. In general yes, a VPN adds at least one more hop and some processing time but under the right circumstances it isn't very noticeable.

    Cheers.

So if I read a bit between the lines, a decent VPN will not slow you down, but certainly also not increase your speed. Is that correct?

Just tested my Zenmate. with it on speed around 6% lower to uk so nothing to be bothered about. Never really understood guys who wants mega speed connections. If it streams TV or Youtube why do you need more !

  5. Do the Sims completely die when the existing validity of credit expires. ?? Or Credit disappears but Sim can still be topped up for a while before its finally cut off ??

From AIS website (may or may not be up-to-date):

Q In case of not topping up or having no usage, how long can I keep my number?

A In case there is no usage e.g., calling out, receiving calls, using Internet, SMS, etc. or no top up for 90 consecutive days, with no remaining validity, the number will be automatically terminated.

    http://www.ais.co.th/12call/en/12call2_ais_callcenter.html

So thats suggesting that perhaps you could activate roaming maybe use on last few days of validity (data use for 1 minute) and then would have 90 days to retop up ?? Am I understanding that correctly ??

  6. I guess you have already seen my posts on the other thread. Just get a Clarity and use it to withdraw over the counter.

Trouble with Clarity is not everyone is able to get one !! I've been with Halifax for 17 years but still they refuse and I have squeaky clean record and normally have between £10k to £15k stashed there at any one time

As you say this is the way to go though

  7. You should have no problem leaving the country to take care of the overstay.

After the overstay is cleared their is nothing that can be done about it.

    Thanks for the advice.

Ok well i think you are probably one of the most knowledgeable people on here so im going to go with that. Its still a risk i suppose but worst case Cambodia will be my new home right.

Only other thing that could happen is the local police here might get angry that i lied or wasnt truthful about my status at that point. Then they might try and do me for the max penalties on the drink driving. But thats totally out of my control so have to see about that.

Why on earth should you be allowed back in after flaunting Immigration Law for 15 months !! No chance

  8. Don't know if related.

I tried unsuccessfully to top up my AIS 1-2-Call account from my SCB this morning. I kept getting , "You have entered the wrong amount. Please try again." message, even though I tried various amounts from the drop down list. I also have AIS added to my payers list, so don't understand what the problem is / was.

Might be a glitch on their website.

Maybe but have tried 4 or 5 times over different days.
