  1. Wouldn't normally be at all concerned but by past years I would have received Passport back by now. by some distance. Unquestionably they have received the request and Passport but because they still live in the dark ages and wont take card or cheque payments, its not quite so easy to see if processed

Its been couple weeks now since I sent it. (yes I could ring them I acknowledge) but I wonder if theres any resistance to issuing multiple entry currently ?

  2. All entries have to be made before the "enter before" date which is clearly displayed on the visa.

It is you who determines how your time is spent but all extensions to TVs are for 30 days at a cost of 1900 Baht

Only one Extension per 60 day entry is permitted,.

Ok thanks. What will I need to take with me to immigration ??

    Passport

Copies of the PP data page , entry stamp and departure card.

    Photos

    Competed TM7 form

    1900 Baht .

Thought you said you had done this stuff before ?

No didn't say that in OP

  3. I've tried searching with mixed results so grateful of a qualified answer if possible.

I will apply later this year for a double entry tourist Visa which I obtain each uk winter without issue.

Normally I stay for two months come home 10 days before Christmas fly back 10 days after Christmas, and use the 2nd entry.

However this year I want to go over the 2 months on the 1st Entry. Now can I go to immigration in Jomtiem and get that 1st entry extended or will I just be told the 2nd Tourist Visa would need to be activated ??

Assuming I can extend the first entry does it have to be for 30 days or can it be shorter or does it make no difference for extension cost ??

    Thanks....

  4. If you are interested in doing some research on the various trusts, then one of the best websites to look at is trustnet.com http://www.trustnet.com/

A friend of mine is very keen on Fundsmith: https://www.fundsmith.co.uk/Home.aspx

You might want to consider investment trusts as well as unit trusts.

Thanks.......not sure whats the problem with the previous two posters. Probably they are potless in the first place !

Yes am checking out all the top fund managers across the Groups. I've always invested previously in Perpetual and have done great over the Years but they dont really offer what I'm interested in.

HL here in the Uk have a Far East fund starting on April 28th and they have quality reputation

I'm grateful for other suggestions. I'd probably split between 3 Funds

  5. I have this amount coming to me shortly via an inheritance. I've always been a bit of a Gambler and have no intention of sticking it into a Bank as such.

I've always been keen on Unit Trusts. I'm looking for an aggressive fund thats going to take risks Any suggestions ?? I often see new funds offering Asian Dynamic Growth etc and similar. Doesnt have to be Far East Funds as such

    Any suggestions ?? Thanks

  6. Please if possible dont point me the direction of the search button as already done that to death

Am looking for something in the 8-10,000 Baht range plus utility. Doesnt need Pools or luxury or anything like that but a quiet(er) location would be nice

    Central Pattaya preferred.....?

  7. As most will know its anticipated that from April 2015 certain Pension Plan Pots will be able to be taken in their entirety as cash, subject to Taxation.

My question should be addressed to HMRC but have spent 4 hours today on the phone passed from department to department. Now 25% will be tax free still but in my case I dont use nearly half of my personal taxation allowance some £5000 an annum which currently goes to waste.

Can I apply that unused £5000 over and above the 25% to reduce taxation on the overall pot....?? Or will the 75% incur taxation and any unused personal allowance claimed back the following year ?? Simple question you'd think but clearly HMRC dont think so !!

    Thanks...

  8. You need to be more specific on location and size.

Plenty of studio's for that price in central pattaya, but can also get a house in east.

I would suggest LK living place in soi batman, off pattaya tai.

Away from the bars yet close and cheap enough to get to them.

And price is around 5000 baht

Thanks where is Soi Batman as never heard of it. (rough location)

  9. Have placed this in Pattaya section rather than a hotel or accomodation section so grateful if it could remain here....

Looking for long term Rental 1-2 years and looking for apartment/room in the above price band plus utility, bit flexible top end

Any suggestions from guys on the Ground...??

  10. I've never used it but...after you clear departing Immigration/Security, there is an information booth on the walkway down into the main passenger concourse. There you give them all your personal details, and they give you a code. I think it is good for 1 hour.

Not any more. You have to register online now and after half an hour I gave up in October. Much easier when they gave you password etc from Info booth

  11. Are you sure you can get a 30 day extension on a visa exempt. I thought you had to have a visa to get a 30 day extension

Since the 29th of August when the new rules went into effect it has been possible to get a 30 day extension of a visa exempt entry.

No I will need Visa. Ticket is for 56 days but wont get past check in without a visa in advance. Am travelling to get it personally now from Hull hopefully

  12. Had you bothered to read their website it would have become "apparent" before the fact.

Visa and postage fee must be paid by Postal Order made payable to: THE ROYAL THAI EMBASSY. please kindly write down the applicant 's name and passport number at the back of the postal order

    CHEQUES ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

    http://www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/401

Unfortunately I had contacted Thai Consulate Cardiff prior to applying who informed Postal Apps could only go via London now but to download the application from their website.

I acknowledge my fault however cant help thinking that probably the most important piece of information ie no cheques could be on the relevant application form.

I may have to abort trip because impossible to get there next week (London) during opening hours.

  13. Apparently cheques are no good. Has to be a Postal Order for £50 if applying by Post.

All I had was the Visa Application form rather than the notes that go with it.

Should I have have included Eticket plus Hotel Reservations as well ?? I didn't but am now wondering if that should have been included as well ??

I'm running out of time now as well unfortunately as it took 3 weeks for them to return documents in the first place
