  1. :o I've been living in Thailnd for 6 years. I work and live here, pay my taxes and I am married to a Thai. I also enjoy travelling in LOS (maybe not any longer). I invited my parents over from Europe and travelled with them using the State Railway of Thailand. For the trip we purchased 4 tickets. While one was priced at 15 Baht the other three were priced at 100 Baht each! Only because we are foreigners we had to pay four times as much as a local! If this becomes a common thing for tourist services in LOS I'll have to think of not offering anyone at home to come and visit LOS because of the rip off. People will want to know why the hel_l they are charged more than 4 times more than a local! In our countries , we don't charge foreigners more than the locals. I think if companies in LOS don't change that we should advice our tourist services in Europe or elswhere to start charging Thai tourists 4 times more. Sure, they'll like that!!! :D Let's spread the words fellows! Mobs are "in" in LOS these days.
  2. Well, the offer I have includes the promotion which is done by the company. The only service I will be offering is to hygenically clean mattresses with an innovative machine that the company produces. It removes dust mites out of mattresses without using any chemicals. Or do cleaning companies use such machines in Thailand already? The machine uses high frequency vibrations and kills mites using UVC-radiation.

Anything like that on the market here?

  3. I have received an offer to open a representative office for a European company in Thailand. I could act as general representative. My business would be 100% service oriented, since only the service is sold. There's no import or export involved. The following questions have arisen.

    1. Is it the same procedure to set up such a business than setting up any other businesses?

    2. Since this business aims at the service market of cleaning, are foreigners permitted to have such business in Thailand?

    3. Are the requirements the same as for setting up a Thai Company Ltd?

    Any comments appreciated.

    Thanks

  4. My questions regard, what regulations are there for foreigners who do self-employed business using European equipment in Thailand.

Products are not sold in that kind of business. It's a service job using the equipment of the company. The company is responsible for promotion and it is also not a franchise. In Europe this could be a second job for people who don't earn enough in their first job.

    My questions:

    1. Is it necessary to register a company to do that kind of business?

    2. I have a work permit, is it possible to obtain a second permission for a job?

    3. How would the income be taxed?

    4. Can foreigners do that kind of service occupation?

    5. Can I work as a self-employed worker here?

    Any suggestions? Thanks
