19 day overstay? She couldn’t even make it to 1,000 days. What an amateur!

The government should spend more money on people to pick up trash. But then the bosses like to keep the money for themselves to buy stuff and make others envious of their wealth. Also, if regular people see that people are paid to pick up trash, they will throw more trash on the ground because they expect it to be picked up. That is the way it is here.

The funny thing is the wife said her husband asked the two French guys if they needed help. In my head I can hear the Thai guy asking “do you guys have a problem?” That question can mean a lot of different things.

Anyone who has lived in Thailand long enough knows exactly why they voted the way they did, regardless of whether you agree or disagree.

Why would they stage a coup…against themselves? That’s like saying “don’t worry, I won’t shoot myself in the head.”

It’s all a show with these guys. All they care about is who they get money from and who to give money to. There is a reason why that cop was transferred to the boonies rather than fired outright for all the problems he caused. On top of why he was even hired in the first place.

Those maintenance fees on million dollar condos in the us and foreign luxury goods are costing too much baht. Not enough getting kicked up to the top with this poor economy. They have mouths to feed too.

I’d like to make a comment but I might get into more trouble than a policeman taking a bribe.

All govt decisions are made based on how much money the top guy can skim so that he can show off all the money he has and gain face among his corrupt peers.

Some rich connected Thai family has got the car seat monopoly here and thought it was time to make some serious money. Child safety is not their main concern, just a byproduct. Plus, now cops can stop anyone with kids and get a bribe for no car seat. All about money.
If road safety was a priority, they would crack down on a lot of other things, like drunk driving, aggressive drivers, speeding, etc.

Typical. They wait until things start picking up and then make a show of getting things in order. They had two years of downtime to fix any problems, what was everyone doing during then? It sure wasn’t working hard to fix any problems.

Looks like some of that insurance money found it’s way into the hands of some decision makers. It’s a great scam. Go from requiring $100,000 to $10,000 coverage while increasing the cost of coverage from 1000 baht to 2000 baht. And then when a farang has a claim, just don’t pay out.

The insurance requirement was $100,000 and they are dropping it to $10,000. But the cost to purchase these fake insurance policies from Thai providers go up. You pay more but get less. And there are a ton of stories out there of people coming down with covid and the insurance company avoiding paying out. It’s a great scam, I’m not sure they will be scrapping this. Too much money is being made.

At least the generals have nice watches and all the land from protecting Thailand from Cambodia. And the police have 15 cars and mansions from clamping down on crime.

If one of them would sell their brand name watch, maybe there would be more than 2 million baht to help 7000 Russian and ukranian tourists stuck here.

The rich and powerful continue to fight amongst themselves for even more money and more power. While the people become the equivalent of a lowly soi dog. Some will get scraps with meat on the bone, while most will go hungry.

Once the Russians in Thailand go home, they will be sealed off from the rest of the world. I don’t think they are in a rush to get back. They are going to slow roll their return home, as it may be the last foreign trip for many of them for a long time.

It’s fascinating how cops and generals can become the richest people in Thai society. While in other countries, it’s business people or old money. What do cops and generals here produce and generate that allows them to accumulate vast amounts of wealth? They must be the most productive members of Thai society. I did not realize how much money is generated in a job that requires you to protect civilians. They don’t build anything, create anything, sell anything of value, teach anything, manufacture anything. It is utterly amazing how wealthy they get protecting the Thai population.

So I guess the message thailand wants to send is that it is ok to invade another country and create a humanitarian crisis as long as a lot of your citizens spend money in our country.

How many people were on the boat at the time? If there were 3, 4 or more people, it was probably an accident. If it was just two people…we’ll then things get interesting.

Don’t worry. It’s all been decided and agreed upon beforehand. Money has been exchanged, the police officers fate is already set. We just won’t know what they agreed to until the verdict and punishment is revealed. Or maybe the higher ups decided even this couldn’t be swept under the rug. Either way, the decision has probably been made, and we won’t find out what it is until later.

Just remember this. If a foreigner tests positive, the first and main concern of the people who have control over you is how much money they can make off of you. Their second concern is you spreading it to a Thai. Their third concern is for your health and well being.
