I reported at the police station in Bangkok.

I just moved to Bangkok from Phang Nga. I submitted a 90 day report online and was rejected. They gave no reason. Is it possible that it is because I have changed immigration offices and need to report in person to the new office? Thanks.

Hard to tell but the inside looks really messy. Seems to be chocolate everywhere. I doubt humans did that. I once received a shipment of peanut butter from a Thai company that was destroyed by rats. They ate right through the box!

I think it is ridiculous. In the US this doesn't exist. What does exist is an ever-present police presence that doesn't look fondly on bike driving maniacs. They had a problem with this in Miami until they started confiscating bikes. Not so many problems anymore.

If self promotion would help save lives you can do all he self promotion you want. Not saying that they will use this to save lives but that is not my point. It isn't necessary to be selfless in order to do good.

I had a package of some small electronic components, guitar strings and an effects pedal sent to me from the US. For some reason Thai customs is breaking my you know whats about this. I live in Khao Lak so Bangkok customs sent the package to Phuket. The most expensive thing in the box is a reverb pedal that I bought used for $75 from a friend. The price in Thailand new is around 5000 baht. The thing is the unit is made in Thailand. It is clearly stamped on the outside. To the best of my knowledge there is no import duty on an item that is brought back into the country of manufacture. There might be VAT but not import tariff. Does anyone know if this is correct and how I can prove it to customs? Thanks

Thanks Joe.

Joe,
I am a little confused by your answer. "more than likely be allowed to apply for a work permit with it". Do you mean I will more than likely be allowed to apply for a work permit while keeping the extension or is a "not" missing somewhere in there? Thanks.

Since my extension of stay is cancelled when I leave the country should I get a re entry permit in case the B visa is denied?

I am buying a guitar amplifier built in Malaysia. Can I import this as an individual under the AFTA agreement even though the manufacturer hasn't applied for a COO?

I am currently on a extension based on retirement but will start working in October if I can get the papers. Is it possible to get a multiple entry B visa in Penang?

I currently have an extension of stay based on retirement. I have been offered a job and need to get a B visa. I need to pick up something in KL so logically it would kill two birds with one stone to get the visa there. I have two questions. I have heard that it can be difficult to get a visa in KL. Is this true? If so where is the best place. I live in the south. Secondly, I will be working as a scuba instructor and might want to change back to a retirement extension of stay after the season ends. Is this OK with immigration? Thanks.

Strange. I live in Khao Lak and heaven't seen any dogs bother anyone. I believe it happened but think this might be a bit exaggerated.

I took my gf to the states last summer. She got a 10 year visa without 100,000 in the bank. I don't have a clue if it helped but I wrote a letter stating that I was paying for the trip and that we were going to visit my family, etc. She is a nurse with a Bachelors degree and has been at the same private hospital for 14 years. Her opinion is that her job and her attitude were what got her the visa. Agin, I have no clue but I do know they are very suspicious and know of many women with iffy english and less serious jobs that have been refused.

FWIW, I am not married but my gf got a 10 year visa. I think it helped that she is a university graduate with a 15 year nursing career. Neither one of us owns any property or has enormous assets. Her opinion is that the impression you make on the interviewer is very important. She also said that everyone else that was there at the same time got denied.

Anyone know where I can get a 1.6A 250V fuse for a Fender amp? Thanks.

Unless you have stayed in the country for 90 consecutive days you do not need to do a a report of staying in the country for longer than 90 days. It does not matter what type of visa or extension you have,
Your report will be due 90 days from the date you enter the country including that day in the count.
Thanks Ubonjoe!

I have a similar situation. I had a non B visa and got an extension of stay based on retirement. B visa is no longer good. Arrived from US yesterday and was supposed to report on Aug 7. Am I also ok for 90 days? When you have an extension is a visa no longer necessary? Thanks.

Oh! I was under the impression it had to be done with the police within 48 hours of moving. Was I mistaken?
