First, it is a misconception that when someone is alone he/she is lonely.
Anyone can be alone without being lonely at all.
Many people nowadays made the choice to live alone to protect themselves from all the pitfals that have been created trough marriage/living together.
Specially for the man in a divorce. And they are happy with their life.
Second, until 2018, I could meet a complete stranger and talk the whole day about anything.
When sitting at the local restaurant, people came to sit at my table to have a conversation with me as they knew that I could have a conversation about everything.
We had always fun at the meetings.
But after November 2018, something broke inside, and I could hardly have a sensible conversation.
Many times, I was sitting at my table without speaking a word to anybody.
Only a few (good) friends, who knew what I had been trough, understood my feelings and could have a conversation with me .
Avoiding at all costs sensible subjects.
Since 2018, I meet a few ladies (not barladies) and we tried to have a relation. But I was unable to give and live in happiness.
Now, 6 years later, I came to peace with myself and I know that I am not fit for a relation anymore.
I am alone, but not lonely.
Many times, I travel to the beach or to some festivity and I enjoy the moment.
I have a few friends and I know a few people who are always friendly to me and are happy when they see me and have a short conversation with me.
But a relationship is not for me.- 1

I totally understand his feelings. You can spray those who want to participate, but leave alone those who don't!
A few years ago, I was chilling out at the local restaurant while my daughter was celebrating Songkhran outside the restaurant.
A foreigner, who was well known in the village, was participating with the water throwing.
His favorite target was splashing a bucket of water, with some ice cubes, into the Songtaws.
Although the Songtaws had their windows closed, he used to go behind the Songtaw and throw his bucket of water shouting "Happy Pee Mai".
Most of the people in the Songtaw where girls who were going to work at the 7/11 shop or Family Market.

At least 50% of foreign visitors to Songkran don't get it, there are legitimate targets and there are targets that are off limits. Anyone clearly not participating but needing to be in the area for other reasons, anyone on their way to work, anyone not dressed for a soaking, are NOT fair game.

Banglamung, Pattaya – In a concerted effort to ensure public safety during the Songkran Festival, Police Major General Surajit Chingnawan, also known as “Burapha 3,” Deputy Commander of Police Region 2, visited several police stations in the Chonburi area to oversee the implementation of strict traffic policies.
Is that the same "Police Force" who inpected Walking Street and found no prostitutes?

32.95 vs 67.05 I not sure how you can state Nearly a 50/50 vote as the difference is 34.1%
Math was never my strongest point.
Recalculating the outcome would be 1/3 stay and 2/3 leave

32.95 of the voters are convinced that the Swiss guy will stay in Thailand and
67.05 are convinced that the Swiss guy will be forced to leave Thailand.
Nearly a 50/50 vote.
Let's wait for the final update on this case and see who had it right.

The only lesson to learn out of this and other similar crimes is simply that a few weeks/months in prison is no deterrent for the criminals.
Criminals who are involved in drugs and/or molesting children should be handled more seriously.
Like letting them escape and shooting them while trying to escape.- 1

What about the part where Thai drivers drive over a zebra crossing while you are on it?
A few years ago, I stopped at a Zebra crossing to allow the pedestrians to cross the road (4-lanes).
On my right side there was another car which had stopped for the pedetrians.
Nonetheless, a motorcycle driver who was late for his Som-Tam session chose to pass us on the left and scoped the pedestrians.
Crossing a street in Thailand is a risky businnes. -

Was the driver a THAI?
He speaks pretty good English to whoever was with him in the car.- 1

He did his best to get in front of the pedestrians who were already crossing the road, rather than stop willingly to let them finish crossing.
So, they had to walk in front of a moving car or be forced to stand and wait in the middle of the road to let the car through, then suffer the same challenge with the next Thai driver.
But rather than stop completely, the driver then continued to roll slowly towards the group as they crossed getting uncomfortably close to them.
This was probably to hurry them along or to display aggression towards them for crossing the road.
It's a game to the drivers here, I think.
Probably something to do with losing face as well.
I had a similar experience yesterday with a taxi on a crosswalk.
So, it's OK for this MORON to go into demolishing mode and start to attack the car?
Guess we have found a bigger moron here.
Maybe familiy of the Swiss guy who thinks that he has the right to hurt other people just because he is on holiday in the country and Thais shall respect his habits.- 4

It is real cutting-edge stuff. On the turntable, it sounds like Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music, only more industrial. Like Lou's, it is believed to be a contractual obligation album.
Which way it sounds better?
16 rpm or 78rpm?- 1

Unfortunately, you can find yourself in trouble even if you don't start it and you end up having to defend yourself. You need to be prepared to think ahead and get yourself out of any potential argument or confrontation.
In my 23 years of living in Thailand, I had a few times a confrontation with the Police or other officials.
I could keep my dignitude and said that I didn't do that.
On the otherhand, saying that I am sorry for the trouble and a few banknotes exchanging hands worked well and I did not die or was deported.

That doesn't really matter when you're talking about law and punishment. Otherwise anyone who did anything ever would have to be treated the same.

As far as the Doctor kicker goes, It wasn't social media that did him in. It was all his own doing, along with his wife. If he would have immediately apologized, asked for forgiveness, and maybe offered to pay all her "medical expenses" it probably would have never made the news.
He did exactly that at the police station..
But his wife needed to add a complete diatribe to it and made everybody furious.

I feel compassion with this guy who felt a sudden bowel movement and chosed to defecate on the street.
That was maybe not his best idea, but at that moment it was urgent.
Although, he could have pull his paints up and go to a public toilet to wash himself instead taking a bath at a shrine.- 1

That seems to be a common problem with all court decisions.
In 1987 I was awarded by the courts a sum of money from my ex-wife.
So far so good.
But I never saw 1 dime of that sum into my bank account.
My ex-wife claimed always that she had no income (above the level that can be witheld by the courts) and that she was insolvable.
With the interest over the years I would be now a rich man.
But my ex-wife chosed to die a few years ago and the only thing that's real are the bills of the lawyer and the courts. -

Usually these tuk tuks have an enormous rear view mirror. If this is the case, pretty hard not to notice her missing.
Udon Thanee is an Isan part of Thailand where 2 diffuerent Tuk-tuk models are used.
The first is the model used in Bangkok which is a transfersal 2 seater and uses an engine on LPG (with the common distinctive tuk-tuk sound).
Difficult to fall out of this model without being noticed.
The second model is a modified Motorbike with 2 rows of seats lengthwise.
The seats are inclined towards the road and easy to fall out of these if the road conditions are not good. -
