I recycle paper..
Glass and plastic and aluminum cans all separate. When we get enough we call a gal and she comes and picks it up and weighs it. Get a few baht. I don't do it for money just that it's the right thing to do.

Once there was a place called the Costa del Sol and the Costa Brava. British and other Europeans went there in droves. They built hotels and ripped off, scammed and raped their way out of favour until no 9ne goes there Any more. History is a worthwhile lesson!
Interesting. ..I just read a article about those two places today. Apparently that was the case but the tourist are starting to come back now.

Canadian here
I probably wouldn't be here if I was hired to startup a new plastic plant in Maptaput. I.love the weather here. I can take the Canadian winter till new years and after that it can go away.
Getting too darn expensive back home. No more property tax..high insurance rates. Tax on everything you buy. Etc. On plus side primary schooling and health care free. But really they are in your taxes you just don't see it. I love my country and it is a great big beautiful place. But at this time in my life I am happy here.

In the mountains of Canada truckers are required to stop and check their brakes before proceeding down the incline.
And they need to pass a air brake exam to.get a license.

Getting real tired of these brake failure trucks. Don't they know that you gear down. Don't they have brake inspections. Don't the drivers have proper training. The answer to all these questions is a big fat NO!
3000 road deaths this year...how far can they go?!!

If I recall corectly my wife had a C section and it cost 5000bt. Not a private hospital but she had a private room and a day bed in it so I could get some shut eye.

Par for the coarse in this country.

The wife forgot the card at a atm. I called my bank in Canada and they said there is a small camera inside the atm screen and if doesn't see you it withdraws the card back in. It's a security feature but a pain in the butt. They sent me a new card in a few days via UPS. No charge unlike thai banks here.

They need to give these doctors a flight to a real cold country. Maybe they will come to their sences It's NOT cold just cool unless your in North thailand at 2 C. Just dress for it if you can't handle it.

Don't they eat snails here as they do in the west. Escarole with garlic and butter are excellent.

Use to have a horse. They are escape artist. The Damm thing would get in my garden every year and eat my cabbages..not one but would go down the row and take a bite of each one. Also got loose and high tail it thru the neighbors soybean field. Only to catch it was with a bucket of oats. They are suckered for oats.

I became acquainted with a Thai/American brother and sister at a university where I worked. They are fluent in both Thai and English, having an American mother and a Thai father. They both tell me that a large percentage of Thais do not even speak their own language correctly, which leads to any number of misunderstandings. Comments?
Ya my wife always drops the R from a Thai word. I myself with little Thai that I know have corrected her pronunciation a few times because I have know no problem with the R. I said how am I to learn Thai when you don't say it proper.

If you think that's bad. Try visiting Quebec in Canada where they speck English but will act like they don't.
I there a few years ago to Montreal and Quebec City and almost everyone spoke to me in English and I do know some French. The older generation use to be like what you said but the younger generation isnt like that anymore. I was pleasantly suprised.

Do I sense a little sarcasm here?
This is the best advice you will get here, the Wave is bulletproof, ultra cheap, ultra reliable, ultra economical, safer and will handle the hills, what more do you want? A troublesome piece of battery- powered crap, remember what happens to batteries in the heat, they don't last. Forget to charge it and it is a long walk.
The 2 baht you will save on petrol in the first year will be more than offset when you have to replace the battery/s in the second year. The only thing that has failed on our Wave in 8 years is the battery (after 2 years), but no worries it is a kick start.
Or just listen to BS Al Gore if you want.
Not a AL Gore fan by any means but EV vehicles will soon be the norm. The majority use lithium ion batteries not lead acid batteries and they last along time and usually have a cooling system to keep.them cool.
Don't be like the guy that use to sell
Horse whips when the new fangled autos showed up. You need to see the writing on the wall.

I got my motorcyle cycle license by showing my home county license. It uses G for car and M for motorcycle.
They just wanted a description of them. So went to a local shop to use their computer and printed off the decription from my home licence office for them. They were fine with that. Only test I had was reaction time and color test.

So how long ago was this?
Maptaput are also my local immigration office, and, when I applied for my previous retirement extension there in July 2016, an officer informed my wife that it really was now high time for her to submit a completed TM30 as my housemaster after nearly 8 years of my living here! They were, however, pretty relaxed about when she needed to do this and didn't impose any fine. So we just mailed the form in (with copies of her housebook, ID card and our marriage certificate) with my next 90-day report a few weeks later, and back came the TM30 notification slip along with that for the 90-day report in the post a week afterwards.
Well the last time I came back from Canada was 2013. Never did any reporting and I had 6 trips before that. Besides they got the info they need when I did the retirement extention but now on a marriage extention. I was ignorent of the reporting back then but know now.

Which immigration office? Many live in Bangkok where the TM30 reports are not necessary. It would be useful to know of other offices that do not require them.
I don't know they required it but just never reported I arrived in Thailand.
I use the Maptaput immagrtion.

I never reported when I came back from Canada. The only report I have made was my extention and 90 day report and when I moved to another house. But not when I flew in after being away for awhile.

So the computer has to be switched on and what you want to watch has to be on the screen? I think I want something like Roku that has around 2500 streaming channels to choose from and not be limited to what is loaded on the PC. It seems to make more sense to have a device like a Roku than pay extra for a Smart TV. Am I correct?
Once you cast to chromecast with your mobile or pc you don't have leave it on that program. Go read your mail if you want while watching TV.

I have seen some really big moons rise at the horizon back home. Just awsome. You gotta catch them when they first come up as they don't look as big latter on but still beautiful. But sadly it will likely be cloudy here.
