To be fair, I don't think Thailand need widespread vaccinations and looking at the graph the pandemic is ending. Worldwide cases are declining extremely fast which is typical of the end of an epidemic and/or pandemic.
In 1-2 months cases will have dropped to levels we don't care about anymore.

If you want to "hang em high" you need evidence
I don't think the RTP is suicidal much. Everyone knows who was running the casinos in Pattaya and BKK.

If you do this, people with lab results positive with antibodies should get the same treatment.

Really. These people ( mainly hill tribes ) cross the border into Myanmar illegally on an almost daily basis and return illegally because they don't have passports, AND they've been doing it that way for hundreds of years. There are NO corrupt officials involved in these instances, just poor uneducated people that the Thai Govt doesn't even officially recognise as Thai citizens, hence the reason the pink ID cards came into existence in the first place. These crossings are mostly done in the jungle well away from where they can be detected.
As far as I know and read these people went over the border for jobs in the casino and they crossed at a "closed" border crossing and or another point which (should) only allow cargo. Correct me if I'm wrong ????
Either way, this is a problem that goes way deeper than just irresponsible people crossing borders. Both in case of the hill tribes or people working at the casinos abroad. IMO it's unjustified to make an example of them by jail, rather than fixing the broken system that allows this to happen.

Oh come on. You and me both know how to set the real example. And that is going after the corrupt officials that allow this to happen.
These people sneaked (highly irresponsible) over the border for jobs to feed their families. The people who allow this to happen can continue as per normal, perhaps at a higher price. They are the culprits. They need to be put in jail. They are the ones where an example has to be made. They don't need to feed their families but their Mercedes and third, fourth and fifth properties.

No chance. Anyone who is positive has to stay in the hospital. Even if they only found anti bodies.

The hostility against landlords never ceases to amaze me. Renting out property is the livelihood of many and some of you dare to talk about 50% reductions. Unless you're jobless or got a 50% reduction on your salary yourself, shame on you.

10 million free masks for a country with a population of 70 million ? This will certainly help to defeat the virus.
Better than the 0 other governments are distributing.

Masks aren't about thickness. They're about not letting through fine particles of dust and yes.. viruses. Any manufacturer of face masks that tries to promote their brand as if they're trying to sell ass wipes I'll happily let pass.
Europe already discarded millions of Chinese face masks because they weren't any good. That and the false sense of safety that any mask provides and possibly even higher risks of contracting this virus because of all the fiddling and face touching keep me from using them. I had to make an exception when entering the local immigration building. Unfortunately I didn't have a choice. Today local Tesco Lotus Express markets started imposing the use of face masks on customers. I now go straight to 7-eleven right across the street.
Why Asia doesn't follow WHO guidelines for face masks is beyond me. I've come to accept all the peculiarities of Asia but this mask obsession still gets me..
They don't have to be perfect to reduce the spread if everyone wears a mask. Even surgical masks will do. Asia doesn't follow the WHO because they are very aware its flawed. Thank god.

This Korean leading Covid-19 expert seems to think otherwise. And coming from a country that has a lot less cases than the west. So, I think i know who I will be listening to...
For everyone who doesn't want to see the whole interview skip to 15:00 min for the mask part.
Who the hell is still listening to the WHO after numerous of misinformation since the beginning of this outbreak.
A certain country has a certain incentive to spread misinformation and let this spread in the west. Guess who's controlling the WHO. And before anyone says "oh pretty please, you stop it with your conspiracy theories, you're just an online nobody" I invite you to have an unbiased research yourself first. The last pandemic was only a 100 years ago. The last world war less than 80. What makes you think this isn't going to happen again?
Never forget:
WHO
Jan 5 - No evidence for h2h discovered
No travel advisories recommended to China
Jan 12 - No clear evidence for h2h
Jan 14 - Limited h2h > Maybe limited h2h > No evidence of h2h
Jan 15 - Maybe limited h2h
Jan 17 - Does not recommend quarantine
Jan 19 - No clear evidence of h2h
Jan 21 - Maybe h2h
Jan 23 - No evidence of h2h outside China
Jan 27 - Raise alert level (slightly)
Jan 28 - China will stay in control
Jan 30 - Till now no deaths in China, for which China deserves our gratitude and respect. China's transparency is protecting the world
Feb 3 - There is no need to restrict travel in order to slow the spread
------ nothing until China got control over this and stocks tops were sold ------
Mar 12 - This is a pandemic
"The WHO has been full response mode. We have called countries to take urgent and aggressive action." ... "Deeply concerned by the world leaders inaction"
Until today they are still advising no mask if not sick, with a sickness where you really don't know that you're sick, for weeks. Hiding behind the weak argument it gives a false sense of security. The truth is, when 2 people wear a mask, the chance of spreading from this one person to the other is immensely reduced. Even if these two masks are homemade cloth ones. Then R0 will be even less than seasonal flu.- 1

There are several studies that say that the viral load determines if someone gets only mild symptoms or severe. But still unknown territory.

If they have no income, due to job loss, they may no longer have a home in Chonburi to stay in and clean, with no way to pay rent and bills.
That's probably why many will travel back home to their province, to stay with family.
If that is true. But I bet that everyone who can afford a car here did not stop their rental, can still pay their bills, will not magically get a job in the rural areas they are travelling to and are considering this a vacation.

Another person who doesn't understand exponential spread.
The infections double every six days (or less) depending upon what measures are taken in a particular country. (In the USA, it's been every 3-4 days.)
Thailand will have in excess of 50,000 cases by the end of April if cases double every six days.
Yes. 3000 is wishful thinking. However the R0 is greatly reduced with widespread face mask wearing, social distancing and perhaps, but not proven yet, warm weather. So it might not grow this fast.

I still can't believe so many people miss the point of wearing mask during this outbreak. Its so freaking simple! When there is an incubation period of 1-14 days and some people don't even get symptoms everyone should wear a mask to REDUCE THE SPREAD. People are highly contagious with no symptoms and wearing one protects others (no not 100%, but way more than 0%) from your droplets. You spray them even when talking loudish.
Masking up works. Its effectively social distancing and helps greatly with reducing the R0. Simply look at the curve of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hongkong, which is situated right next to China.
Last but not least, the WHO are a bunch of crooks spreading lie after lie since the beginning of this outbreak. They have been downplaying this until it was way too late. And they are still lying by telling people not to wear masks when not sick. This would be ok with SARS but not with COVID19 because for weeks you don't know you are sick.

total 3rd world; absolutely no comment on their effectiveness ; they just make decoration once you discipline your self not to touch your face , sanitize your hands and not go to public popular spots
Unfortunately there are still people who do not understand the purpose of wearing a mask with this virus around. So let me explain in layman terms;
About COVID19:
- Incubation period is 1-14 days while people feel totally fine but are contagious already.
- Approx. 18% won't have any symptoms throughout the whole time they are infected but are contagious for up to 3 weeks.
About social distancing:
- 1.5-2 meters is advised so droplets are less likely to spread from one person to another
About masks:
- Masks reduce the distance that droplets can travel should one cough, talk loudish or sneeze in public.
Wearing a mask is not so much about protecting yourself from droplets but protecting others from your droplets. Exactly like social distancing.
Before you say I rather listen to medical experts (of which people mean the corrupt WHO, who is spreading lies since the outbreak) than someone online, feel free to Google all the facts first.

A few percent daily decline is not small. Its significant. In a little over 1 month the new cases worldwide declined with more than 50%. Also there are hundreds of strains already. Nothing much to worry about. None proven to be more dangerous, only more infectious.
Of course there will be more waves, but it will likely be like an influenza outbreak (there are vaccines, many people carry anti bodies) and borders and economies do no get shut for that.
It'll go fast from now.
