  1. That's a really good deal if it remains 768K- my plans were always to buy a 14R and a literbike- I should have bought the literbike first.;)

Does it mention a steering damper? I know they're a stable bike in the front end from personal experience, but just curious.

No stock steering damper on the 14R for '14 (or any year)- it's a very stable bike, but I added a Hyperpro to mine just in case.

I agree with that, but I'm referencing the point Y99 made. I do like to change my bikes every couple of years, and it can get pricey- as far as the 14R goes, unless they significantly upgrade the engine, I'll be hanging on to mine for a while as I put so much effort into setting it up the way I wanted it- if I buy a literbike this week, I'll be keeping it mostly stock and won't feel too attached to it, and I'd probably keep it for a fairly short time before something else catches my eye, which is why the potential price drop is a concern.;)

With these HUGE! price swings its a real crap shoot. The cbr1000rr with a 250,000 reduction. Thats no different then losing almost 350,000 figuring a second hand one will be 100k under new retail....

My bike went from 590k to 660k to 560k honestly i dont even know the 2014 price...

    599K, I believe.

In both our cases, a new or improved model was scheduled to be released, which is really what impacted the price- they wanted to clear out stock on-hand. I called around, and as far as the 14R was concerned, there were probably less than ten that went for 768K as there were no orders taken, and shops only had one or two in stock as it was too expensive to have several sitting around- I don't think the resale price will get hit too badly as the price has gone back up- it's not like you can go out and get another for 768K once they're gone. It was more of a 'sale' than a price decrease. If the 2014 (which is the same bike with the addition of the shock and some color changes) had been significantly cheaper, it would have been a different story.

  4. I believe the price list above is for the previous model- someone posting from the show said it was 599k, but I haven't seen any other confirmation.

That is Kawasaki's most recent posted price list

It reads in Thai good from Nov 15th till December 10th this year & is for the Motor Expo

Although it is Sangchai Kawasaki ( Chiangmai )& Maybe Real Motorsport ( Bangkok Kawasaki )has a better deal at the show?

Maybe, but the disparity is pretty big between it and the Ninja 1000, and they should be priced much closer than that. I checked FB again, and while prices are out there for pretty much every other bike, there's still nothing confirmed for the new Z1000.
  5. Man, this cbr1000r for 630 k is getting so tempting!

They have less in stock and honda guy that i know and trust said it costs 6000 thb to de restrict cbr1000 plus a 25k slip on! They swear!

Went ahead and booked cbr650f for now as already 20 people booked the bike yesterday.

But if i change my mind, i can get the money back or put it for ducati and cbr1000rr.

Hmmm... I'm going to look into that- I was considering some silly bikes, but the CBR1000RR is a terrific motorcycle, and that's such a low (for LOS) price...

I'm going to the show on Monday and I'll talk to the Honda guys and see what they say.

This is really annoying, I'd finally decided on the 796 and now they throw this at me. Very bad form smile.png

Too many choices isn't always a good thing, but it's great when it comes to bikes.wink.png

I would guess all-in it would be close to 700K once the CBR1000RR is done and derestricted (mechanics tend to quote low), and then there's the warranty issue- it's a Honda, though, and there shouldn't be a problem.

  7. If anyone goes to the show over the weekend to check out the Hondas, could you please confirm the opening time at Impact for Monday?

the doors are opening at 12:00 noon for every day of the event.

i was planning to go there today as i had a chance to go inside to the VIP day but will have an unexpected office meeting today afternoon so will be visiting the show tomorrow afternoon.sad.png

I like motor shows and i am excited to see the new bikes tomorrow!

Noon? I was thinking 10am- I'm glad I asked or I'd be sitting there for a couple hours.;)

  8. I had a disc lock that I used on my old Hayabusa- due to the shape of the lock, I could only fit it on a certain spot on the front disc- it was moved by someone (a maintenence man, I believe, but of course no one admitted to it) and a chunk was ripped out of my front fender (I think it was $200 for a new one)- I never heard of someone actually damaging anything associated with the braking system due to forgetting a lock- I guess it would be possible if you really nailed it.

  9. I have a brand new Alpinestars T-GP R air for sale if anyone is interested, XL I think 54 never been worn other than to try it on in the shop, color red and white.Cost new 9500 bht make me a sensible offer! Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Color is Red/White and Black, detachable inner lining, back chest and elbow protectors.

You bought a separate back protector and chest protector pads, or are you referring to the pieces of foam that it comes with (which aren't proper protection)? It came with CE-rated Bio-Armor in the elbows and shoulders only, with the other pads available as upgrades.

  10. I still haven't tested mine- I might pick up some shortie gloves at the Motor Expo- they definitely won't work well with gauntlets.

    Gauntlets ! 555 Good one !

I suppose knowing what you mean places me in an ancient civilisation!!

'Gauntlets' is actually still pretty common for gloves that extend past the wrist (it also sounds cool;)):
