High does Vit C is being used with covid patients in diffferent parts of the world, it's also used in many other diseases including cancer treatments. So perhaps the article about prevention was "fake" or misunderstood the difference between treatment measures versus a preventative one.
If you google High does vitamin C you'll see a lot of respected institutions with articles around high does vitamin c, but it's only part of the treatment and I think it's more about helping repair the damage covid is doing as apposed to curing or attacking covid specifically.

I get 1000 mbps down and 200 mbps up, 899 per month. I live in an older building on the 20th floor. 7,000 baht to run the fibre cable from the street to my room. 3BB.
Using Nord VPN I get 250mbs down and 50 mbps up when selecting Australia as my location. Singapore is usually good to.

Sweden ranked 24th for deaths per million (779). I think the king was probably referring to the elderly and they failed the elderly as that population was hard hit. Lockdown countries like Belgium, Italy, Spain, UK, USA, France all did worse. Looks like Sweden is holding itself to a higher standard than many.
Of the 7,893 deaths in Sweden 6,914 were aged 70 plus.

Stupid headline down 100 baht.
How about Gold set to soar on trillions of new US debt in 2020. Who writes this rubbish and why?

According to the CDC,
The CDC’s new estimate, for the first time, is broken down by age groups. Here is what the CDC calls its “current best estimate” of chances of dying from the virus if you get infected:
1 out of 34,000 for ages 0 to 19;
1 out of 5,000 for ages 20 to 49;
1 out of 200 for ages 50 to 69; and
1 out of 20 for ages 70 and up.
Here’s another way to look at the same numbers. If you get infected, your chances of surviving are as follows:
Age Group Probability of Survival
0-19: 99.997%
20-49: 99.98%
50-69: 99.5%
70+: 94.6%https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html

On January 1 2020 the us dollar gold price was $1,520, today it's $1,940, yeah it's getting smashed. It's actually consolidating above the historical all time high which was about $1,920. Golds on a long term uptrend and the real economic pain hasn't hit the US yet. Wait until all those government cheques and Fed bailout programs slow down.

I was on walking street this morning at 11:00am, there was not a single car or truck delivering anything. Surprising, looks like WS opening is going to be a bit of a slow burn.

The bars that had a solid expat customer base before this will be OK and operate as normal. As the expats and the owners are all very familiar with each other none/few of the rules will be applied. That's the truth of it in my opinion.
My view.
Never depend on the government for your safety.
Never depend on the other people for your safety.
The only person who is responsible for your safety is you. Make your decisions accordingly.
A Penn State university study published in the NY Post a couple of days ago estimated over 8 million infected in the US in March. If true then there are 10's or hundreds of millions of people who have or have had this. Not sure any amount of rules will help if this is the case. But that would also mean the fatality rate was very low. In Italy I recall reading the average age of the victims was 80, so probably need to try and protect different parts of the community differently.

Rule 23, ignore rules 1-22 as quickly as possible. We've been locked away to long and forgotten Thai's willingness to totally disregard anything the laws and regulations stipulate. Of the 100,000 bars and clubs, 98,000 would be almost soley for Thai patrons, there's zero chance these rules will be followed across the country. Pattaya, Phuket, Bangkok maybe a few days at best while the BIB get the cash reserves up.

I believe the only non stop flights from NZ are with Thai, a quick look for early August has Thai at 8,000 baht more than the cheapest flight and 5,000 more than Qantas via Sydney. Thai 32,000, Qantas 27,000.

I've been fined for late, 2 or 3 days. I thought I had the option like 90 day reporting but no. On or before due day, after that you will likely be fined.

I've had more issues with DHL than all other carriers combined. Given a choice I would use anyone but DHL.

I really have no idea why this discussion is around beer bars, hookers whatever. The place has been closed since mid March, 57 people died, no one in Pattaya has recorded a case in a month or more. Meanwhile 500 meters from where I live a 1 km long line was formed at 1am with people trying to get a food handout 8 hours later at 9am.
Let people go back to work whatever they do, when the government decides who can work, who cant work, what businesses will likely fail and which get enriched you no longer live in a free and fair society. How many millions have died to protect freedoms over the last 100 years, yet so many on this forum and other places are happy to give up that freedom for some perceived "safety" where 57 people died. Most likely with Corona 19 and not from corona 19.
Life has risk, deal with it. I think so many people have been manipulated by a massive fear campaign that will likely result in years of hardship given the massive over reaction globally to this virus and governments enforcing unemployment and business closures on good people wanting to work. Over 40% of US deaths have been in nursing homes. The average age of deaths in Italy was 78 or 79.
Be careful, make your own choices, the government doesn't give a <deleted> about you, do your research work out whats media bull whats the governments agenda (any government), what you should do given your own personal circumstances. Let people work so they don't starve not have to que like beggars for 8 hours just to get a meal in a once prosperous city. Crazy.

Politicians claiming it's all outsiders are just trying to distance themselves from their own failed policies.
While Minnesota pols claim 'these are outsiders' a look at police arrest records show 38 of 45 arrested had local addresses. Google it, lots of different sources.

I'm inclined to think Thai life will go back to normal fairly quickly, there's only been few deaths (57) and you only need to see the road carnage to see Thais aren't to concerned with death. Went for a haircut yesterday, sign says "No mask no service" I said do you want me to put on my mask, they said no need. Thats going to be how most places / small businesses operate in my opinion.

About 18 months ago Amex told me if I had 4,000,000 baht or more in my bank account for 6 consecutive months they would issue me a card. I'm retired.

I have lived in Pratumnak for over 10 years and I really like that it's away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, but only 5 minutes or so to say LK Metro (on a bike). I had a car, never used it so sold it to a mate. I use my motorbike a lot, I use to ride a big bike in my home country so no worries there.
I have stunning views of Jomtien, Koh Larn and Pattaya City / Pattaya Beach. My place is not cheap but the postcard views are still worth it. I rent but may buy in the same building, will probably not have the same kind of views but personalising the space is something I miss.
Getting in and out of Cosy Beach can be a problem, some of the traffic their and on Pratumnak road can be horrific. Bus's, all the soi's have become bus parking, makes it dangerous to navigate sometimes. Cosy not so bad but there's a big bus park at the top of cosy. All the soi's in cosy have been re-laid, new drainage.
I looked at the Lofts about 5 years ago, had some very nice large units available and had some nice ocean views from a few units.. I think the same people also have The Place and The Point so maybe check those out.
There's a lot of dogs, ive never had a problem but at night I'd rather not walk, but lots do.
You don't 100% need to buy a car, motorbike taxis im good with, if your worried just get one to the baht bus route. You can hire a car in Pratumnak for use, no need to go spend 600,00 just rent one when needed, but I understand the draw to having a car, also grab etc. Unless your a golfer, then a car for sure.
The motbike taxi guys in my soi are all OK, I pay them the same wherever I go downtown, same all year round no issue. Some are better than others but usually share a joke or a wave if I'm riding past. Got a few mates that live up here so adds to a sense of community.

I'm in a 1980's built condo in Pattaya (Pratumnak). I paid 7,000 baht to install directly into my condo, I'm on the 20th floor, it took a couple of hours and the service guys did a great job. Actually I think 3BB said 6,000 but my Juristic person said she knew someone who would do it the next day, 7,000 baht so I went with that. Speednet test 794/854 Mbps. It vary's, using a VPN via Singapore or Australia I usually get anywhere between 60-150 down and about the same or slower up.

I came in last night from Australia, I have a current multiple re-entry permit, the place was empty, no ques, never seen it that slow 8:30pm. No discussion about any additional info, documents, Apps etc. Standard procedure as per normal.
There are a few monitoring stations set up in the passage ways as you head to immigration, only 1 had people looking at screens, a roped off area, probably for secondary questioning but no one stopped. Arrival hall as you exit customs 20% of normal traffic, maybe less.
As an arriving passenger, it was good.

I was about the same amount of time over on my 90 days check, I thought when I got a new passport and visa's transferred it would also reset the 90 days, it doesn't. Jomtien I/O explained the rules to me and why I was over. I asked how much is the fine, he said I've fixed for you already, no fine.

My Australian bank sends the via normal post to my condo. My card expired mid last year, they sent me a replacement and it didn't turn up, I requested another card and the sent that and it hasn't turned up either. I do get other mail from Australia, so it's hard to explain whats going on right now. My bank in this case is Westpac.
