  1. If I remember right,..... it was about 17 years ago in Pattaya. There was stormy weather and about 13°C at night and no chance to sit outside unless wearing a warm jacket. Next morning most of the boats at Pattaya beach were crashed because of the heavy storm at night. This was the coldest day (since 30 years) I have ever seen in Pattaya. Anyone else remember?

  2. In my opinion this guy isn't brave but stupid. He was acting like a bloody greenhorn who doesn't know anything about Thailand and young thai people who believe to be strong and untouchable. How can he try to make a problem with a gang of young thai boys who want to show their power to their friends? I guess the bill was just a few hundred bath. It's not worth to risk a life for that. The woman did the right thing. She just let them go. They come back to pay or not it doesn't matter. She is Thai. She knows young thai people and how to stay away from big trouble with a youth gang.

  3. There is a pretty NEW RULE just valid since January 2016. The (Pattaya) Immigration will NOT accept anymore when you have a break for vacation to travel in Thailand or neighbour countries. The reason: You are here on an ED VISA , that means you decided to be a student and you are here to STUDY - so STUDY and don't go on vacation. One exception is when you go back to your home country within the 3-months time gap, then (still) nothing happens. Of course you have to prove this by showing your flight booking. But I'm not sure if other immigration bureaus in other provinces are strict like that.

  4. Not that cheap but worth the price and a very high german standard quality you will find at

German Dental - Thappraya Road Soi 9

They have many experienced dentists working there and the Owner is Michael, a german guy and dental technician, working successfully in Pattaya for over 20 years. This is my No.1 choice.

  5. Oh yes, Pattaya is FULL. ...really full of Chinese tourists and hundreds of tour buses on the roads. But those chinese guys don't bring much money to pattaya. They booked and paid their whole tour in China at a Chinese travel agency, even the food is included. They stay here just for a few days. All they buy is some souvenirs. They neither buy land, houses or condos like farangs do, nor do they sponsor the girls. So.... what will we count or compare with the last years? The number of the people in town or the benefit for the city and the business people here?

  6. Regarding to the fact of the upcoming ASEAN community in January 2016 I expected that they would hire MUCH MORE Foreign English teachers to fill the big gap and to bring Thailand on a higher English level... but to REDUCE the number of Foreign teachers is a step back into the stone age.

But whatever. .... This could bring up a new business idea for foreigners in all provinces. Offer English courses ONLY FOR THAI ENGLISH TEACHERS and teach them how to teach English students in school. The 500 "EXPERTS" won't be able to train ALL English teachers in the whole country.

    I'm already LMAO..... 555555

  7. Best would be to get your visa in the UK and to enter Thailand with an ED visa, then you don't waste time and money for an additional visa run, but the paper work here in TH takes about 3-4 weeks before you can get the documents via EMS. If you still have this time then go for it. Don't believe people who are telling you that you don't need to leave the country when you arrive with a tourist visa. That's definitely wrong! If you really want to study Thai and not just to buy a visa then I can recommend EASY ABC SCHOOL in Pattaya. As soon as you applied at the school you will get all the necessary application documents by email. It's fast and easy.

  8. 1. I've been in VN 3 times and I always let my travel agency do the visa and the paperwork. It cost me about 1K more but I'm not wasting my time and money for transportation fees, etc.

    2. If you have the money to buy a rolex and to stay in a 4 stars hotel then you also can spend a few Dong for a taxi from AP to Hotel.

    3. Hanoi isn't more dangerous than any other city in this world but using brain when travelling and not to go alone in dark streets is never wrong. Leave your valuables at home then you don't have to be worry about that.

    Enjoy your time there!

  9. I really can recommend the SAXOPHONE PUB at Victory Monument. Great atmosphere there, different kinds of music because the live bands always changing and no hookers. The ladies (guests) there are working women and if you are friendly and polite it's easy to get in contact with them. But if you are into student chicks (like @ RCA), then this is not your place.

  10. If the OP would run aan own pub or disco he could understand the policy of that club. A beer or a coke you can drink even you are standing anywhere..... but if you come with friends and wanna open a bottle of Whisky and Champagne then you need and expect a table and a place chair where you can sit.

I had my own discotheque a few years ago and I had the same problem. Some customers come to drink only 1 beer all night but they blocked my chairs and tables while other customers who came to celebrate with friend, buying whisky bottles, ordering food etc cannot find a table. I also asked those guys to move, coz it was my business to make money! Is that so hard to understand?

  11. You should not think of how to keep the ants out of the water cooker. It's better to find a way to keep them out of your house. This is what I did and since they aren't in my house anymore they aren't in my water cooker as well. Problem solved!

  12. I just had a chat with the lady who sells Döner Kebab in Pattaya. Her investment was about 50K. All you need is a small kiosk in a good location. With 1 kebab spit per day -she told me- she can sell 180-200 portions which is 10,800 to 12,000 Baht per day. Her daily costs are lower than 4K/per day. It's a monthly profit of more than 200K. Enough for you? If you want to see people who became millionaire by selling Kebab then go to Sukhumvit Soi 5 in Bkk. It's only 20 meters inside the Soi on the right hand side. They offer chicken and beef kebab and soft drinks and within 1 hour they sell approximately 20-25 kebab at 60 Baht each. In only 12 hrs they make about 15-18K plus the drinks.
