  1. Now I understand why all the law abiding Thais who are good at following orders have a basket on their motor bike. To hold their helmets in case of a check point. ????
  2. It took long enough for someone to point this out. And the Thai police should take motor bikes away from those without a real helmet. There are too many out there not wearing them. That would cut the death rate by more than 50%
  3. When the sun doesn't shine on you "free" solar panals? Yes, governments are money addicts.
  4. Green Green pay the machine. If the world ,not just Thailand , actually mostly the EU and the USA, had not vilified big oil for all the wrong reasons and had created a reasonably workable transition plan we would not be in this high cost for fuel situation. And transition is not my choice of words, it's Green speak. It should have been an enhancement energy plan. And if you don't see it coming like you didn't see this, just wait for when all the EV's have to pay for electricity at the new Green rate + in the USA, no more subsidies and actually having to pay taxes of some sort to replace the taxes not collected because less gas is being sold.
  5. I really hate generalization, but aren't almost all motor bike rides not thinkers. You'd think with the number of deaths daily / yearly Darwinism would take hold and all the idiots and their off spring would be gone and a new crop of motor bike drivers would take their place. Ones who obey some of the rules of the road, not to mention the laws.
  6. This correct and the real value of the baht would help - like another 20% decline. It would also help exports. Who cares in a Thai village in the middle of nowhere what the exchange rate is except if it help sell your products over seas.
  7. Exactly, demand destruction of its own making. If they would have dropped the Thai <deleted> there would would have been more people and more staffing long ago.
  8. What re-entry permit? We used to only fill out an arrival/departure card on the flight back. Same for walking across a land boarded for a couple hours or a couple days visit.
  9. I think you may need your own . There are people who live here who don't want to do a TP every time the leave .
  10. Here we go again. Stop it now! What will be , will be , and it will be better WITHOUT Thai PASS!
  11. Cornwall??? help me out is that near Kanchanaburi or Khao Lak? Seriously, in the real north of Thailand. not Chiang Mai, we only have 2BB not 3BB internet provider. And True Vision is blurry. ????
  12. Does that make Texas the 50th largest country in the world?????
  13. Oh yes, in the North the internet is slow due to extreme cold .
  14. You have got to be kidding me you can't figure that out? It will be cheaper in Europe since you have no rubles to buy gas 555 i.e. Remember RUSSIA!!!!
  15. No ! No! You don't want to stay here. Go South, live with the tourists. Too cold and hilly. Hard to drive in the winter when there is snow and ice on the mountain roads.???? You'd need to spend extra money on 4 wheel drive cars. No EV charging stations the area. And really and truly BAD smoky air for a least 60+ das a year ( End of Feb-Apr). Stay away for your own health.????
  16. You are missing the point when it comes to those of us actually living in Thailand and wish to travel out and return. We have to do a TP and add extra days and cost to our trip and all the while we support the Thai economy when we spend our daily money here.
  17. I am for freedom of speech , so people can show their ignorance. Proof is in the pudding.
