Have you considered the "parent of a Thai child" if under 18 yo ? I am not sure about the requirement, maybe the sames as the marriage visa.
Look at the thread from UbonJoe, i think he is almost the absolute reference about all these visas problems.
Good luck to you.
EDIT : OK i read your post another time to the end, yes the "parent / dependant visa" might not work. sorry

Seems very appeling ! I just applied to it and we will see if people residing since a long time can this time be registered.
(10 years without getting out the country; an immigration officier told me they usually kept our TM7 only 2 years on the database, this is why with the first version of this online application longtime resident couldn't "enjouy it").
Doing it on a Saturday with officials days off next week, i might have to wait end of the month for an answser; never mind.
will tell if i can confirm my registration.

Sorry to not seing this thread earlier. I own a poll very similar to the one pictured in Daffy D post. i use a chlorine tablet (1 for 10 days) left in a dspenser and also use a product to clear the water). Yours, much smaller should mostly need a pump to filter and clean the water.
Because i do maintenance and cleaning as often as i can, water is still okay after six mont uses. Cover the poll when not in use and protect from leaves and dust, cycle the pump before kid use it and after. I think your model should have the adaptators for fix it. (I use with normal filter and reusable and if i not forget to change then it's okay)

As often as i can. My pool is just an Intex 457 *122cm but once i clear the problem of cleaning it (leaves!!!!) then 1.5 to 3 hours on vacation days. While working weeks it's mostly friday to sunday for an 1 hour or 2.
BTW for winter time : i use a real diving suit; the full one with long legs and arm and it's okay even in december/january.
-
@mirage : i am sorry to answer late but if you hadn't start any work i would advise to keep the Intex pool !
I know how "real" pool are much better but i also own an Intex for a little more than 2 year (juste before the pandemic) and i never regret it ! This is a smaller model without metal holder; 4.5 ù diameter and 1.22 meter high. I loose at least 20 kgs while using it "almost" every days with static swim; jog and other exercises i can adapt in the water.
Other pool were out of my budget; even the DIY model i could find.
If you already start the digging; then good luck to you. if not; think again.
I have to figure out for the cleaning; my garden is full of leaves and my cats love to rest by the pool for all the protein they can get but since it's not a burden to take care i have really great time with it. All included; it cost me about 12 bahts a day since i bough it and the cost is lowering. (next one, in 1,2 or 3 years; will be a bigger model like yours.)

An interesting fact might be, that France vaccinated all those who wanted here in Thailand with free-of-charge "Johnson" vaccinations, which - as they claimed back last year - would not require a booster and hence one vaccination would suffice.
Just saying ..........EDIT : i didn't saw your updated message on page 2.... my bad.
Sorry, but you are incomplete on your comment !
Yes, the first available vaccine was the Johnson for French national. Then quickly, when it as been evident that it was not "good enough" with the new variant, then MODERNA was also bring to the country. Even legal spouse/partner of French national can get it. People with Johnson have receive a moderna booster. My wife and my son are both vaccinated and boosted with Moderna/pfizer.

And despite the letter, the IO often like to look at the old passport (depending on place and mood of course) so keep it.
The ambassies now their job. I already changed 3 time my passport in Thailand without any problems.

If you've got the money... go with a good contractor (Desjoyaux or other than members will recomand)... don't make same stupidity than me (but digging out 3 cubi cmeter was a good exercises...)..So buy an Intex pool (or other brand) ! It on the 12 to 20 square meters with a dept around 100 cm. Not bad.
Static swim is ok, static run too ( i can't do it on road) and i loss 8 kgs since last March without forcing on it (1 to 1.5 hour 4 time weeks)/ Look down was much more pleasant and with my wife and (sometime) teenageboy using it, we will cover the buying cost in less than a year....

I have skipped 2 of them. I was planning on the taking a TM47 for with me when I apply or my annual extension in about 2 weeks anyway. That would mean I would not need to a do report until November.
I also skipped 2 of them and was hoping..."dreaming" of not having to do it until November and the renewal of my extension of stay ... TIT ! and I am so busy at Uni that i don't know when i can manage to do it !

Good afternoon guys !
I need your help ! There was, few months ago, a topic about covering a inside/outside wall of a house with Shera plank for insulation;
There was several answer and advises and i promised myself to back on reading it ASAP because it was interesting for my situation.
Then... i can't find back this topic. I am pretty sure 95% it was on ThaiVisa Forum but until now i have been unlucky.
So allow me to ask again :
I would like covert the outside wall of my old house (little red brick covered with cement) with plank, instead of only painting it. Would it be good for heat insulation ?
I know they have particular plank for outside use, but it was more probable about the regular one (cheaper?) and pneumatic nail gun in the orginal topic(?).
I would like do the same thing for interior wall, will it be helpful too or will need to also use the same king of almuminium sheet they use for roof ?
Any answer, advise will be welcome !
Stay safe@home !

Yes, they tried to do this ugly thing in Lang Suan too, near my beach and said it will be a bicycle lane !. I don't live there all the time, it's our vacations house, but we were not happy not to be consulted first. Some place are knowed to be subject to erosion, but where i stay it's in fact the opposite. They passed the project few years ago and i was scared it will happen to us too. Good luck, they stopped it because some big Chinese invested in prawn farm a km from our place. These wall almost never work, but it's a good way to make money

About your roof : why didn't you choose a white or neutral grey color, also for heat protection ?
Anyway;, nice house. I still have to wait few years before built a new one.

If you have Thai social security can you choose to use it at any hospital , including private , of your choice or only government hospitals ?
It's depend the province you are living. Some of them have much more choice than other.
In Nakorn Pathom province where i live and work i have access to only 3 gov hospital and 1 private, a dependancy of a more expensive 's one.
I choose to register at the private and have no complain for years and years. (I also can have treatment in some clinic registered with the SS for little problems). Ever had operation there and all the cost were covered by SS, except the single room i have to pay the difference with the common. My wife had a little accident and needed hospitalization in the same hospital and it was okay for her too.
Ask to look for the list of avaible hospital where you are.

Check with your lawyer friend before think too much ,but yes don't signe any contract outside from your job. if they want pay you by check it's okay. I do it for most of my extra classes within institutions. I have to sign almost 5 different paper for each different group/classes but at the uni my secretary say no problem for foreigner teacher.

The work permit rules have been modified / updated few months ago. As I understand it, now, you could do freelancing, as long as you keep your work permit of course.
It was from articles of Phuket News ;
there and also there for the 1st announcement
I hope i understood it well.

Don't you register to any official UK website for citizen living abroad ?
I am registered on the french' one, my address on the french passport is my current adress in Thailand then it was enough for proof of residence.

The point is they receive so many contradictives orders that they don't really know what to do now to please the boss as just follow rules seems to be not enough.

The first red flag. I ALWAYS demand a copy of my payslip by email and by snail mail. Many times, there are mistakes in my payslip. I get them corrected. If they don't do this for you, you have a dodgy employer. Sorry, but you had this coming to you.
Sorry @scoutman360 but foreigner working for government uni or high school never get a slip. I know it since almost 22 years ! But every years when doing my tax paper (when the secretary not forget it) it's printed on how i have paid to the SS system.
BTW @petedk : i "think" i remember reading that our first 18 month onto the system weren't included in the total. I can't be fully certain because i really don't remember where i saw this or who told me.

@xylophone : right you are...they can give any % they want.
For the blue ribbon, i was thinking they were serious enough about it at it : it's there business to tax it right.
So I far as i can see, our friend @denim and his Spanish bottle might be lucky (even if i think the color is a little ligther), but i can't speak about spanish drink ant their quality. it's probably a 60 bahts bottle in Europe.

Boys... keep cool !... May I remember you Montclair and consorts ARE NOT wine ! They are at best "fruitwine" so 10 or 11 are possible.
@ Denim : was it with bleue ribbon ? Congratulations, it's a...(real) wine !

Yes; there are too much on your tree. You need to find a experienced worker who will select which one to keep. I don't know how many trees you have but agree to pay extra (500 for 2/3 hours job) if they can work after their normal/regular job hours. I can't say anything else. I sometime help my wife and i know Durian farming is....complicate !
