  1. My dermatologist does it for free during a 'follow up' session'. A lawyer once charged me 10K!
  2. Better if they designate water free zones (Silom soi 4 is one. Last time the soi did it, it was packed solid with people taking refuge from the madness a few yards away).
  3. Thanks Sheryl, words of wisdom. I've lived here as a P.R. for 20 years. Would only go back to the U.K. for NHS treatment. My big worry would be declaring Diabetes 2 (well under control) (and I would declare it) . Would an insurance company, in the future, blame anything from ingrowing toenail or heart attack or stroke etc. etc. back to the diabetes in order to refuse pay-out?
  4. Thanks That's certainly true. From past experience over the years, insurance companies have 2 aims in life 1) to get premiums out of customers and: 2) to find ways to deny claims.
  5. I have decided i need a cheap (?) insurance. I send advertisers my details with specific things I definitely do not need (e.g. international cover, repatriation of corpse etc. not needed). They send me back pages and pages of options to sort through. Is there an agent that simplifies things for my old brain?
  6. Delivery 60 baht whatever the size of order provided it's valued over 1000 Baht. Makroclick
  7. Go and have your irony implant checked. edit Whoops sorry, I see somebody has beaten me to this.
  8. Thank you for thanking me. Let me rephrase the question as I didn't realise that you were writing for others 'Do remind us of the last time anyone was inconvenienced' No problem if it takes you some time to consult the others that you were speaking for. A clue -- it was about eight years ago. What a bloody nuisance every eight years. Thank you.
  9. "Once again" Do remind us of the last time you were inconvenienced.
  10. And don't forget to take your passport to the shop to register it.
  11. I recall, a few years ago, a farang was arrested for not standing.
  12. What rubbish! If you haven't used one in years, how do you know what they drive like now? Try thinking before you head for your keyboard.
  13. K. Muppet, how long have you lived here? The craziness existed years before the GRAB boys tried to scrape a living.
  14. Bang Sue amazingly friendly and efficient. (but such a schlepp from central Bangkok by either taxi or subway) I had my first two jabs there, then the next two at MBK (Mah Boon Krong) --- Incredibly easy to get to and speedy and helpful, now sadly closed. Good to see one at Victory Monument but no info on whether an appointment is necessary. Their homepage is bi lingual, but nothing referring to vaccinations and go further into the site (appointment etc. are in Thai only -- or am I missing something? P.S. I recall sometime ago that the new generation of vaccines would be available in Thailand in the New Year.
  15. Is today really the last day for Bang Sue as a vaccination centre? If so, where in central Bangkok now?
  16. Yes, it's a pity people don't fully read reports before rushing to their keyboards.
