  1. I just arrived in Thailand and got a 30 days visa on arrival (I'm a Swede), I plan on extending the visa by 30 days. After the 60 days I'm planning on leaving Thailand to get a Multiple entry tourist visa in a neighbouring country so that I can stay in Thailand for another 3-6 months.

Is this possible? Will I get a Multiple entry tourist visa even though I have already stayed in Thailand for 2 months?

(If I remember correctly there used to be a rule which said that you can only stay in Thailand for X days (90?) for every 180 days period. I think it wasn't enforced in the past, but is there still a rule like that?)

  2. Hey

During 2013 i had the following visas in Thailand:

March 2013: Visa on arrival (30 days) which was extended 30 days because of hospital treatment

July 2013: Single entry tourist visa from the Thai embassy in Sweden (extended 30 days)

October 2013: Single entry tourist visa from the Thai embassy in Singapore (extended 30 days)

Im Swedish and Im planning on staying in Thailand 3-4 months more and then I will continue my travels to India. So now j need to go to Lao to get a new Tourist visa, I never got a tourist visa from Vientiane before, but my Thai visas is stacking up and Im worried that I wont get another visa. Is it unwise of me to ask for a double entry tourist visa? I might be fine with a single entry, but it would be nice with a double entry in case I wanna stay longer. If I apply for a double entry and get denied, do i need to re apply for a single entry or do they give you a single entry instead if they think you qualify for it?

I'm talking to some charity organisations in Thailand about maybe start working for them, and in that case they would fix a working visa for me. If the embassy would deny me a tourist visa, wouldnt it be wise of me to show the emails between me and my potential employer that we're talking about me working there? Would they really deny me a tourist visa if im going to Thailand to look for a job?

  3. For a simple 30-day extension go north to Maesai and walk across to Tachileik in Myanmar. Myanmar has a 500 Baht entry fee- Thai exit and entry is free. All fast and efficient. Great international markets on both sides. Be warned that this time of year it is cold at night up there and not many places have heat in rooms. You will need to cover yourself well in the rack and waking up in the morning the last thing that you want to think of is getting into a shower. Personally I think it is worth it. Maesai is great.

For a regular 60-day visa I like Malaysia. The Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur is friendly and efficient- I have been there twice this year. They do not require you to present airline departure tickets as does Singapore. No double entries, if you are wondering. KL is overall friendly, speaks a lot of English and restaurants & shopping are surprisingly cheap. Also some great markets. A decent hotel room at Thai prices is difficult. I have found in Little India good mid-range places that convert to about 1400THB. Also China Town, which goes from mid to backpackers to sleaze backpackers.

The link below provides excellent info on getting the visa.

Oh yeah. Expensive, long cab ride into town from the old airport which is where you will arrive if you go with AirAsia. I did not look into alternate mass transit but it is available.

I guess I just wanna get the visa as quick and cheap as possible. KL sounds great, but wouldn't a visa run to Vientiene be smoother, cheaper and just as safe/likely to get a Tourist visa there?

  4. Hey! I have been in Thailand for 7 months soon and I plan on being a tourist here for another 2-3 months before I go home to Sweden. Currently Im in Bangkok and I need to do a Visa run. I made trips around South East Asia and at the moment I have 3 Thai Tourist Visas in my passport. Last time I did a visa run/vacation to Singapore and they denied my first application to get a new tourist visa because they thought i had stayed in Thailand too much, but they approved my second application the day after. At the suvarnabhumi airport the immigration questioned me a lot why I stayed in Thailand for so long and why I had so many visas. Luckily, after some questioning, they decided to let me in.

Based from what I read at the forums it seems like its getting more difficult to stay in Thailand on tourist visas. And I heard that the Thai embassy in Vientiane has become more strict about giving out tourist visas which makes unsure on where I should do a visa run.

So my question is: Where should I go to be sure to get another single entry Tourist visa?

  5. Hey there!

First of all, I hope I dont offend anyone with the title. I just wanna get your opinion about it. I find Thai women extremely attractive and for me Thai women are some of the most attractive women in the world. However, that goes for younger women. I have been here for 6 months now and i very very rarely see beautiful women that are older. And by older i mean above 30-35+.

Yes, we all define whats attractive different. And of course there are lots of beautiful women that are older in Thailand and we have all seem plenty of them, but thats not the point. But the percentage of attractive women around 18-30 is so ridiculously high in Thailand in general. But what happends when they get older? The percentage of attractive women in Thailand at a young age is probably higher than most countries in the world, but the percentage of attractive women at a older age is probably the worst ive seen.

Im from Scandinavia and over there we have so many beautiful women that are 30-35+. If they are beautiful when they are young, they are very likely to still be very beautiful or at least beautiful at a more mature age too.

How can the beauty of these young gorgeous women just fade away? Is it the sun? They just dont use a lot of make up when their older? They don't care about their looks when they got a husband or kids? Whats wrong? Am I wrong?

  6. Hey

Im living near Asoke/Nana BTS in Bangkok and Im looking for a good and cheap place to take some relaxing oil massages. I usually go to Healthland for a 2 hour Thai massage for 500 baht, which i find really cheap considering how good it is. But I feel that Thai massage does not relax my muscles enough, so I prefer oil massages but Healthlands oil massages is too expensive. Is there any good oil massages near sukhumvit where i dont need to pay more than 500 Baht for 2 hours? 1 hour for 250 Baht is fine too.

  7. I am a long time tourist in Thailand and I am currently on my third single entry tourist visa. The last time i applied for a tourist visa at the thai embassy in singapore they denied me the visa, but luckily after i re applied i got it. But when i got to the airport in BKK, they started to ask me questions like what i was doing in thailand and they were very suspicious. Luckily they let me in but they were very close to deny me entrance. My reasons for staying in Thailand as a tourist are legit, and i should stay here on a tourist visa. But because of the current events i feel that if i apply for a 4th tourist visa it is very likely that i wont get it. Thats why im looking to maybe start studying Thai, not only to get a visa of course, but also because i find it interesting and im learning thai by myself right now.

Is it easy to get a Non-immigrant ED visa right now? For example to study thai language in BKK

How much does the cheapest schools cost all in all?

How long can you stay on the visa?

How much must you study each week and how many hours should you be present at the school?

  8. Today I was denied a Tourist visa at the Thai embassy in Singapore because they said I am not allowed to stay in Thailand for more than 90 days within a 6 months period. During 2013 I have stayed in Thailand close to 5 months, basically I had two 30 days visa on arrival, went back home to Sweden for 2 months and then I got a Thai Tourist visa (stayed 90 days) which just expired. Heres what happened:

Her: You have stayed in Thailand a lot recenty, are you a tourist?

    Me: Yes

Her: Ok, I will deny you a Tourist Visa because you are not allowed to stay in Thailand for more than 90 days within a 6 months period. You will have to wait for around 2-3 months before you can apply for a Tourist Visa again.

Me: So my only option to get back to Thailand is to wait? My friends have stayed in Thailand for years by getting Tourist visa after Tourist visa with no problem.

Her: You could fly to BKK and hope that the immigration will give you a 30 days visa on arrival, but they should deny you, but maybe you get lucky. And your friends obviously got lucky too, maybe the Thai embassy where they applied didnt look closely when they applied for their visas.

Just to clarify. Theres nothing shady or strange about me. I am very polite, had a professional application and look like a decent man.

This really sucks, because I have a Thai girlfriend and an apartment full of stuff in Bangkok. So I really need to go back to Thailand. Worth mentioning is that I do not work there so I cant get a working visa.

What can I do? Will other Thai embassies in other countries also deny me a Tourist visa? Is this common and is she speaking the truth?

    Thanks in advance!

    /Hansen

  9. When you apply for a double entry tourist visa, you have to show a ticket out of Thailand to the clerk at the Thai Embassy in Singapore.....it doesn't have to be a plane ticket. My advice is, if you are already in Singapore, and don't have an exit ticket from Thailand--buy a one way bus ticket from Hat Yai to say KL, or the nearest town in Malaysia to get your 60 days. If you don't have a ticket out of Thailand and want to re-enter Thailand you will only be given a 30 day tourist visa.

Right now Im still in Bangkok. Where can I buy this bus ticket? Online?

They do not issue 2 entry visas in Singapore. They normally do not ask for tickets out of Thailand but do ask for copy of ticket out of Singapore.

The ticket out of Thailand, can it be on the 90th day? Because my plan is to make the 30 days extension. If the ticket out of thailand is on the 60th day ill end up not using it.

  10. Hello people. I have 2 quick questions

    1. I need to get a new 60 days Thai tourist visa (double entry) and i booked a flight to Singapore from Bangkok. On the Thai embassays website in Singapore they write that they require a ticket out of the country, which I dont wanna book in advance because I can't plan now where to go in 60 or 90 days. And most likely after 90 days I would prefer to do a cheap border run by bus to cambodia instead of buying a more expensive flight ticket. In other neighbouring countries i heard that they dont really care about this, but after i searched some on the web some people say that the Thai embassy in Singapore is very strict and require a ticket out of Thailand. What's your experience?

    2. If i do need to book a flight out of Thailand and I apply for a 60 days tourist visa. My plan is to extend this visa by 30 days. Can I book the flight out of thailand on the 90th day instead of on the 60th day?

    Thanks in advance!

  11. Hey

I got to Thailand in april this year and got a 30 days on arrival Visa. After almost all those 30 days passed I got sick and my doctor extended my visa for another 90 days (some kind of visa only the hospital can give). However, i only stayed untill beginning of June before i got back to Sweden. So all in all i stayed in thailand for like 50 days before going back home.

Now I want to go back to Thailand for holiday and i plan on staying 2-3 months. All these visa rules are a jungle, and I wonder if there will be any problem for me to get a 60 days tourist visa? Im asking because i recently visited Thailand and ive only been home for 6 weeks so im not sure if thats a problem? Also I heard about that you can only stay in Thailand a certain amount of days per year, and that getting a Tourist visa when you had a 30 days on arrival visa before might be trouble.

Appreciate all the help i can get. Im supposed to book the flight ticket today so that i can leave next thursday, so im in a bit of a hurry to get a visa.

    Regards

    Hansen

  12. Hey

I live in Sweden and plan on going back to Thailand in 10 Days. The Thai embassay, which has Swedish staff, explained that it is mandatory to show a ticket out of Thailand if you wish to get a 60 Days Tourist visa.

The problem is i cant book a ticket out of Thailand because i dont know exactly when i leave and i dont know where i want to go. One option is to book a cheap flight ticket to Phnom penh or kuala lumpur etc. However, thats a waste of Money. is it not possible to book a cheap bus och train ticket online?
