I don't agree with Maizefarmer that the guy will be gone in a few months. He's been at this game for almost 5 years so I'd expect him to continue indefinitely. I sincerely doubt this dude makes visa runs

The Dude feels that the sponsor tag certainly lures a great many men into this forum with their shovels. Also the sponsor itself chose to sponsor this forum cause it thinks a great number of men read in here and it is probably right. It's kind of like a dude reading his wife's Cosmo. The Dude has done this. Now if the dudes who enter this forum and post can behave. No shovels for misbehaving dudes in this forum cause it is not diggable. Dig?

How much will I have to shell out for taxes on the income and management fees? Anything else I need to know? thx to all. shovel in advance

I've decided not to do anything (not my business) as I feel he will do it to himself at some point by ripping off the wrong Thai cab driver or store owner. He's probably been caught ripping off the skytrain and others I suspect and he smooth talks his way out of it as if it were an honest mistake. Someday he won't be able to pull this off I suspect

Siddv, I haveindeed heard of it.
My first few rental homes I'd always beena bit idealistic and paid all my dues ontime, left everything in good if not better condition, and moved expecting to get my deposit back. It took me about eight years over 4 countries before I finally heeded my Father's much ignored advice, "Do not pay the last months rent if you've paid a deposit".
Now I do heed this.
I've paid a deposit for the last month, then I stay last month "free". In fact, there are even landlords now who have started to agree to this form of "rental". These are often the more honest ones.
Deposit is the last months rent.
That way, there are no issues at the end of your rental period.
edit:
PS: This obviously doesn't help you now, but I am just replying to your previous post.
The landlords that I know in BKK change the locks on your door if you don't pay the rent by the due date so I would not try that one here

Soju and Insight, her's a couple of shovels for you guys as I agree. The Dude thinks that the former name of this forum, "farang women in Thailand", better explained what this section was all about

I dont see that it's a police issue - what crime is he committing? For all we know he is here legally and both begging and telling lies don't seem to be police matters, so what's the issue here?
None of our business, I think.
He is committing crimes daily as evidenced by his riding the sky train and not paying. This was the thing that irked me the most about this guy. After he did that he went to the street and grabbed a taxi. My guess is that he knows a scam to get that for free too. He probably knows exactly where to have the guy stop, gets out and makes a run for it. He's a criminal

The Dude posted about a year ago about a smooth talking Canadian guy roaming the Sukhumvit ghetto with his airport tax scam. He strikes up conversation with tourists and spews his sob story about being short the 500 baht depart tax and preying on the goodwill of a jai dee tourist. The Dude has witnessed this "guy" pulling this scam or (attempting to) numerous times and even forewarned a few unsuspecting dudes. The guy is a master of this scam and has been using it as his income stream here in the country. He has been doing it for a minimum of 3 years.
The Dude spotted this guy on Tuesday working the ghetto in the wee morning hours and then saw him on the sky train platform working a guy at 11am. The Dude and said scammer boarded the same train headed from Nana toward On Nut. The Dude was headed to Emporium and was rudely bumped by the scammer as he sped down the steps towards the turnstile exit. The Dude watched in amazement as the scammer went to the exit thing where you put your ticket to leave the skytrain. The scammer gets close behind a Thai guy and slides thru the exit on his ticket! He did this so smoothly as if he had done it 5000 times. I looked to the security guy who understandably had no clue as it was done with such nonchalance. This guy is a menace. What are the chances that he is legal?
Should The Dude forward this guy's pic to the Canadian embassy with a story or mind his own business? Who knows what other ripoffs he engages in here. He is despicable in The Dude's book.

The Dude hands Jimsknight a shiny new shovel for some very diggable words of advice for the Dukemaster

The Dude's prior wife was 11 years older and his current gf is 24 years younger for a whopping 35 years of diff btw 'em. The Dude hands daily shovels to his gf cause he digs her. The older wife turned into too much of a nag. Of course though this is a single case and should not become a generalization of younger being better than older. Who can dig it?

If you're entering Thailand on 11/15 then it depends if a Thai consulate is convenient for you to get that 60 day visa. One thing's for sure, you won't be mailing your passport in to capture that visa

That line come from Mr Mackey in the South Park Movie so not original at all, or wait not Mr Mackey but rather the other school teacher who is gay

The Dude thinks that Neeranam should come to BKK in person and hang out for however long it takes to do the passport thing in person. This way he can have an awesome excuse to do some hanging down here with The Dude who can provide him with adequate shovels to dig the time spent hanging in the midst of all the BKK action. How bout that Neens?
-
Never fear The Dude will be here will shovel for the poster who makes that 1 millionth post. That will be a diggable moment

The Dude bought his 1st phone when he moved to BKK 4 years ago. He had it all of 2 days when a biatch he met in the Thermae ripped it off from his hotel room. The Dude was majorly pissed off but could do nothing about it. The Dude has seen the biatch many times since and no he never did hand her a shovel.

The Dude has never run into these Filipino con guys but on 2 occasions has been approached by highly undiggable African guys who start up a conversation. The Dude will listen for about 2 minutes before saying he's gotta go before hearing the punch line. Now what are those dudes up to?

I am really getting a hankering to go spend the winter in Pattaya. Might just do it!
The Dude has packed up a minivan full of shovels from his BKK home and is heading to Pattaya for a few days. He will need all those shovels cause he digs the place massively. He will however be holding back all shovels for Samui cause there's nothing to dig over there. Now who can dig that?

Sukhumvit Smooth Talking Scammer Still On Loose

It is true that some people he speals have sympathy for him. It's like my OP in the suk beggar revisited thread (maybe someone can unearth the original beggar thread?). I said in that thread that I alerted a scammee that he was in the midst of a scam. The said scammee had bought the guy an OJ at the 7/11 and was outside with scammer being worked when I pulled aside scammee. I ended up hanging out with scammee around sukhumvit the remainder of that night. The following night I spotted scammee in front of same 7/11 alerting 2 new scammees being worked over by scammer. Said original scammee was now savvy and not speaking very kindly of scammer to new scammees. Once you get worked and you see others getting worked, your sympathy fades away as what happened in this case.
