If there is a Mr DIY near you, go and look at their selection of safety footwear.

I am looking for local knowledge.
Granddaughter is at Mae Fah Luang University and stays at Beyond condo. Her birthday is in 2 weeks. I am in Chiang mai but I want to order a cake for her to be delivered on the day. How can I do this remotely from Chiang mai?

What is a Baht bus? It seems to be peculiar to Pattaya.

Brake pads have a metal tag on them that is designed to contact the disc when the wear reaches its limit. This is what causes tie screech. My old Volvo (1989 model) also had and electrical system which in which the tag completed a circuit and lit up a warning light on the instrument panel.

I am not an expert, but I suggest manually reducing the number of fruits by half before they get to that stage. It may be that the tree is not yet mature enough to support so many to ripeneing

The latest is that an Air Purifier was delivered to our home and I took it into the sitting room to open the package. Sister-in-Law went ape and ordered me to take it outside and open it there. Now she insists on feeding wife a patent food called BOOST by Nestles and a patent chicken essence. These foods only. I think she is paranoid, but any attempt at disagreeing results in an altercation Falangs don't know!
I vaguely recall an article in the consumer magazine "Which" many years ago which dismissed the chicken essence as of no benefit, Home made soup would be just as good.
But I am only an ignorant Falang who knows nothing.

Wife does Thai food especially Chiang mai. I do a few European dishes. Grandweans love my fish and chip (whenever I can get good ocean fish) and my mince and tatties. I have not yet found proper curly kail so cannot make a real Scotch Broth ( which wife loves).

I tried a bottle of the lager, it is horribly sweet. I did not like it at all.

Nicolas was an early christian bishop in Asia Minor who allegedly gave gifts to an impecunious family at Christmas. This legend was mixed up with Northern European year's end/new year mythology and exported to USA with European immigrants. There the business community saw an opportunity for profit and invented the modern Christmas.

Unable to talk to the doctor, he cannot speak English. My wife and her sister have a history of exaggeration. I am suspicious that all of this is unnecessary.

It gets curiouser and curiuoser. Wife now tells me that all except her sister are banned from her room for fear of contamination. WIHIH.

On room air? Or on oxygen? (If on oxygen what is it off the oxygen?)
I have no Idea. She was attached to a monitor which was fed from her finger and she was not wearing the nebuliser all the time.

Her Blood oxygen levels are consistently 97-98%. I can understand the need for a particulate filter.
She was taken to a private hospital at our daughter's insistence in spite of being well treated and recovering well in the local hospital. Our local hospital seems to be on a par with NHS hospitals in Scotland.

My wife is recovering in hospital from a kidney infection followed by pneumonia. She is ready to go home but the hospital is reluctant to release her until I obtain an oxygen concentrator and install it in her bedroom. I consider this an overkill but I am not a medical expert.
What is the opinion of members with medical knowledge?

Comment from and ancient Teuchtar in a Highland pub. It does not matter, they are all the same the next morning!

I am very fond of sea grown mussels and welcome this enterprise. How does the taste of fresh water shellfish compare with those from the sea?

Wow I learn something everyday birds can fly at 4-5 thousand feet or 1,219 meters as stated in the full story.
The record is a skein of Canada geese seen over the Hebrides by an Islandair Boeing 727 at 28,000ft. This was during the 1960s.
Electricity Scam?
in General Topics
Posted
On Saturday I found a text message on my 'phone purporting to be from the PEA. It was in Thai but a family member translated it and it was a notification to settle my electricity bill immediately as it was 2 months in arrears. I keep all receipts and I knew I was up to date.
This morning I went to the local PEA office in Sanpatong with my folder of receipts and showed the staff the message, it was immediately denounced as fake.
I also discovered that my neighbour had also found a letter in shape of an official looking form in the box which is used by the meter reader to leave the bill. This was also denounced as fraudulent.
My text message require me to log on to a website to settle the bill.
The URL is "www.pea.vz-th.com " and the telepohone number it came from is +66660269886.
I do not know if the attempted scam is local or widespread, but I share it as a warning.
