FRRO offices gives everyone a hard time, no doubt about Thai, may I ask you which nationality do you hold and at the same time the information reflected there has not been updated since a long while, don't know how long though. for india your single point of contact to get all your queries resolved should be vfs. are you planning to go on tourist or business visa .?

hi , I am indian staying in tablet, can totally understand your confusion, it's VHS office that handles application if you require visa prior to travelling to india, however you can also opt for visa on arrival facility if your stay in india is not over 60 days and you can always extent it from frro office.
The government has put in motion a series of measures that will drastically liberalize the visa regime in the country and ensure a significant boost in foreign tourist arrivals. Not only has the government extended the facility of visa on arrival for individuals from four to nine airports in the country but also given its nod for VoA option for a group of foreign tourists (four or more) using air or sea ports to enter the country.
The group VoA facility has been extended to all countries excluding Afghanistan, China, Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Pakistan and foreigners of Pakistani origin.
In effect from April 1, the measures mean that a family of four, or a group coming from any part of the world except for the countries on the negative list, can use the VoA facility.
Individual VoA was earlier accepted in airports at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata which has now been extended to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kochi, Trivandrum and Goa.
According to a notification issued by the ministry of home affairs, foreign tourists in groups of four or more, arriving by air or sea, sponsored by Indian travel agencies approved by the tourism ministry will be granted a collective landing permit for a 60-day period with multiple-entry facility. The tourists will have to submit their personal details, itinerary and apply for visa online. The travel agency will have to submit a complete list of group members to the FRRO, 72 hours in advance. The travel agency will also have to take responsibility for the group.

Hi all forum members, I would like to seek your advice regarding a wholesale and retail shop that I am planning to open up shortly, currently I import Indian handicrafts like statues of brass and marble material from india to Thailand. I have few buyers who purchase material in bulk and now I would like to open up my own shop where I don't face much problems in commencing my business. my items are not highly priced and I directly get products manufactured in india and get it to Thailand via sea or air cargo. so I would like to know the best location for opening up an 20 x 20 shop or even bigger and my potential buyers are local Thai people, I am not eyeing tourist. I am attaching few pics . suggestions would be highly appreciated. Absolute cheapest would be Bitcoin, but more complicated than most want to deal with.
Via traditional means, Bank transfer via SWIFT. You probably just need his bank's SWIFT code, his name as listed on the account and the account number. Some banks (used to) require destination bank branch address and phone number?
Coming the other way usually costs between $15 and 30 USD, flat fee not a percentage. Not sure about going the other way, but bound to be less than Western Union or Paypal.
I will check with them for the same. thanks for your assistance.

. so what I understand from the info that I've been able to gather so far is that only 10 percent of them , I mean the actual lessors run their own shop apart from them everyone have re rented it at a much higher price. honestly what the sort is demanding is not more than 4000 baht and I would like some one to assist me to get a shop for twice the price, I'm willing to pay 8000 baht but I know won't find a place 8 * 8 in that figure, it's all about earning money, they just don't want to give a share of the extra income earned to srt,"the rent that was demanded by the shop owners/ leasers was ranging between 13000 to 27000 the per month." hmm My guess is that some vested interests rent the shops for that low ball figure, with no intention of opening a shop, then sublease at those much greater prices. How about raising the rents, but REQUIRING those who rent the spaces actually have a shop there? Fat chance that is going to happen. Net effect would be actual vendors paying less, cutting our speculators, RR getting more pay. Everybody happy except the sub leasors who no doubt have good connections....so it won't happen.

. who ever invented that saying copied it from Indian origin person . get real dude , no hard feelings against any national. Indians have done pretty well in all domains, the least u can do is 2 keep urself quiet rather than disgracing othersThere's an old - an unpleasant - Thai saying: "If you meet a snake and an Indian, kill the Indian first".

hi all, this thread gave me pretty good info about the actual problem of chtuchak vendors. I would like to get some clarification for group members, few months back I went to the weekend market to rent a shop but the rent that was demanded by the shop owners/ leasers was ranging between 13000 to 27000 the per month. I fail to understand how can one get a shop in that market as such a low rate . is there a different channel or approach that one needs to follow in order to get shop at such a rate? I import cosmetics and Indian handicrafts to Thailand, currently I am in wholesale but was planning to open up an retail counter. I woul appreciate your advice. thanks , Vivek
