  1. Maybe 4to 5 baht more on the exchange rate might be a factor
  2. Wise give virtually the actual exchange rate whereas banks give a far inferior exchange rate .I think I saved £500 recently by using wise
  3. Ok I always assumed that I had to get a COR to open an account
  4. It would be to open a bank account and I will probably be in Pathum Thani but recently someone commented about how awkward they were with him and referred to uk embassy who don’t do COR .My stepdaughter is a teacher so I could use her as a reference and maybe make it easier at the bank hopefully.I just don’t want to sell my house ,leave uk, on a non o and find that I can’t get COR and open an account.I was hoping that anyone who uses Pathum Thani IO could confirm whether there are agents hanging around looking for business. As one person said if I go into Bangkok I will have the issue of getting the information from them on the same day I do an extension of stay thanks
  5. Are there agents that hang around basically every IO in Thailand offering services ?My specific one is Pathum Thani because I have recently seen a comment on here they aren’t very helpful when asking for a certificate of residency
  6. Sorry if I was vague but I didn’t open one or ask what was required I was just pointing out the difference in attitude compared to others experiences
  7. I was in Bangkok bank in Yasothon last week and the usher saw me and said “ you want open bank account my manager speak English “ and took me to the counter .A lot different to most other branches down south
  8. Thanks for the info because that was going to be my IO and I would need one to get a bank account

  10. I bought an hatari one for 2500 and put ice gel into the bottom .Certainly blows out a nice cool breeze if directly in front it you but probably doesn’t alter the overall temperature
  11. I did it on my iphone and it was fairly easy to crop the photos to the right size
  12. There was a guy on here obviously American who said that they never check in uk doh
  13. I think there’s a link to download a form to fill in had similar issue for my Thai wife when she went self employed
  14. What did you supply in answer to the question of proof of residency in uk .Maybe you didn’t give the right answer.I used my council tax bill
  15. I did upload my council tax bill for one question, not sure if it was this one
  16. Copy of uk passport proves you are a uk resident
  17. I flew from London with Eva and they checked my visa so obviously different airlines have different policies
  18. Take it from me the EVA staff asked me straight away to see my Evisa so don’t take any notice of anyone who says they don’t check
  19. The OPs return flight will be after 58 days in Thailand.I think he believes he can just turn up at Heathrow and say that he will get an extension and they will let him board but they won’t
  20. I’m here for 58 days flew in with EVA and the first thing they checked at booking in was my e visa
  21. As long as your return flight is within 30 days .If not you have to get Evisa or explore the throughaway ticket option
  22. You have the throwaway ticket option which some of the experts on here can explain to you .Basically you buy a cheap ticket out of Thailand within the 30 day VOA period so it looks like you are not staying the full 58 days in Thailand
