  1. I have both the U1 (Lollipop) and X8 H-Plus (Kit Kat).

Both good units and never had any major problems except for a minor issue with the U1 when using Thaiexpat TV, 365 Sport and Expatpremium android apps.

On the X8 H-Plus everything works fine but on the U1 it tends to freeze on buffering requiring me to toggle Pause/Play to unfreeze. I do not know if this is an issue with the U1, Lollipop or the apps as they all seem the same. The U1 performs well with Kodi and YouTube live steaming.

A good first hand user source for info is the www.minixforum.com or use Tapatalk. Loads of info on "pass through" app compatibility etc.

  2. Their Beta IHD5 app has been a bit hard going and now I see access to your account comes up with a 404 no webpage error so wonder if they are giving up on it. When I did find re-runs available they never seem to start in the right place and I didn't notice any pause, ffw etc. to control the re-run.

  3. Mixed delivery results from Aliexpress, from 2 weeks to 2 months if it arrives at all! Lazada international delivery has been consistent 2 to 3 weeks tops. Agreed you may find Aliexpress cheaper, same for eBay.

lazada is now part of Aliexpress too, Rocket Internet sold it to them, things can now only get worse. only buy something there if it is "sold and dispatched" by lazada themselves

The point I was making is that international items ordered via Lazada tend to arrive quicker than Aliexpress from my experience. Despite the tie up some items are cheaper on Aliexpress but with delivery risks.
  4. There is a new service called iviewhd, well spotted by Eclipse in the EPL TV rights thread. Their website looks remarkable similar to ilikehd. As mentioned in my previous post, I will wait to see what channels are available for the football as my suspicions have been raised, I could be wrong.

Iviewhd does look very good, again thanks to Eclipse, but bear in mind your subscription is tied to the Mac address so you can only use it on one device and there is one package with lots of channels for 600 month 6000 yearly. No catch up available at this time.

But you cannot view it without any of those Android boxes, can you? I am not an expert with these things, hence why I have to ask.

I like iLikeHD because it works on my Mac and I can stream it to the large TV if and when I want it. Does that work with IviewHD as well?

I have only seen a download for an app (.apk) which is for Android only devices, sorry no references to Mac or Windows on their website. They are selling their own android tv boxes which you connect directly to the TV with a HDMI lead.

  6. I just got a free 3 day trial and it does seem to be very stable.

    More so than iLikeHD.

The trial links to the Mac address so I assume it works on one device only per subscription, OK for some but no good for me living at 2 locations or having an additional TV in the bedroom etc.. The UI doesn't seem compatible with a mouse. Shame really as the streams do look more stable from initial observations but their approach will not maximise their customer base potential.
  7. Ilikehdtv was pretty bad for the whole of June but service is noticeably better these last couple of weeks so I won't be cancelling my monthly topup just yet.

Good to see a positive comment and hopefully normal service will remain. Just have to wait for their channel listing and packages for the upcoming football season. CTH out, True/Bein in.
  8. I only really have SSN on. I have had SS$ on for the golf and it's been rock solid. Could the reason SSN is crap is because so many people in Thailand have it on their boxes etc?

In the EPL TV thread a poster has mentioned a decline in ilikehd recently, yet to see any recent positive comments.365sport and expatpremium are alternatives at a higher premium.
  9. It's been terrible for me for weeks now. The sky sports channels are always buffering. I have a solid internet connection at 50GB DL......i have deleted cookies etc.

    Any ideas?

I subscribed to the basic sport package for 1 month to trial it ahead of the football season, I can honestly say that I am not impressed with the missing streams, buffering and freezing.

I also have a good connection to Bangkok servers so the issue is definitely with iLikedHD and not our connections. It would be good to hear if others still have a good viewing experience or that some of us are just unlucky as I can't comment as a long time user.

  10. Recently enquired at TOT in Buriram about their 3G packages and there response was OK for the city but no good outside of the city. I gather from this that Coverage may be an issue depending on your location and if you travel a lot, they seem to have some tie-up with AIS but when I mentioned this I was told too expensive don't bother. I thanked them and walked out the door a little confused.

My intention was to get a prepay sim to test, never mind - back to Truemove.

  11. Only now saw the post of Mr Linesy. That is really surprising that the battery so difficult to replace is available by mail order. ( the website quoted in my original post talks about 2 hours of work)

The difficulty comes from having to take out and disconnect numerous parts just to get to the battery. Some of the parts are glued and taped. I considered a DIY job but weighed up the possible damage I could cause and left it to those that do this all the time with the correct tools. The 90 day warranty was also a deciding factor.

If it was a phone I did not care about I would have given it a go.

  12. Ive been to more than a few shops in CM. No one has this battery.

I have an M7 what version is you One?

I stopped looking after a couple shops had me make a deposit and they said they could order it in, then a week later told me not even their suppliers can find the battery.

Im not saying its impossible, but it seems to be overly difficult.

    SM

HTC One M7 batteries available on Lazada for about 800 baht.
  13. sounds good. Requires transferring all data and wiping clean. I´m scared stiff :-) Will try to find help.

No need to "clean" the phone, send as is and hopefully should come back the same. Might be prudent to back up data and important info. Contacts if not already can be stored on your Google account making them available on any android device. Granted It is nerve racking but they should be able to answer your concerns and advise on what to do in preparation. Arno was my contact and his English was excellent.

Feel free to PM me if you have any further questions and I will help if I can.

One last thing from my experience, if you get a cheap spare phone try to get one that accepts the same size sim card as this can be a pain and make sure the frequency is compatible ie: 850, 900 etc.

  14. Linsy the link is certainly helpful http://www.drsmartphone.net/en/

But to give the still functioning Android away it's like cutting out my brain.

Yes, that is the downside, 1 week turnaround for our iPhone with no complications. To cover the period without the phone we purchased a cheap android phone which we now keep as backup. (A whole week for the Mrs not to have Facebook or Line wasn't worth thinking about)
  15. I do online 90 days and my annual extension is a long way off. I'm sure someone who goes after it opens will give feedback and useful information because that's what this forum does best.

Mentioning the Buriram office now gives a heads up to Buriram residents that likely change is imminent but yet to be confirmed as things can change rapidly and if in doubt contact Immigration directly.

  16. Buriram Immigration Office will be located in Buriram City Hall and expected to open 15/16th July "2016". City Hall is the large complex on the 226 adjacent to the old football stadium. There was plenty of parking last time I was there for other matters.

Perhaps the thread title should be modified to alert Buriram residents of the change?

The title is correct. You want your own thread you are more than welcome to start it.tongue.png

    +1.

I think that Buriram residents are so happy that they don't (maybe) have to go anymore the whole way to KCI (sorry kwaibah) that they are trying to hijack your thread [emoji3]

And a fine job the bar stool experts have done.thumbsup.gif Now if they could just come up with a confirmed date instead of jumping about like a butterfly on a hot bed of coals.whistling.gif

And is it already confirmed what services this "office" is going to provide?

Maybe it's only for 90 day reports [emoji9][emoji3]

Personally I will be waiting for the 1st report about someone getting an extension of stay there, and didn't have to go to Surin Immigration to get final approval/signature.

    Time will tell

You should Ask the OP Kwaibah, he has stated in another forum that ALL SERVICES so not just 90 days, he has also been talking about various dates when it will open but feels the need to get pedantic on this forum, as for "bar stools?". Generalisations and double standards come to mind.

  19. ilikeHD does seem to be having issues in maintaining good quality streams at the moment and doesn't seem much better than the free apps mentioned above.

Sometimes I get lucky with the free apps but more often than not they are poor quality , constantly buffering or no stream available.

Thai Expat TV, Expat Premium, Sport 365, any others? buffer up for 5 minutes which does create a less frustrating viewing experience but the downside is the SD quality.

Kodi is very good for movies/series but gave up "chasing" the Live Streams.
