In answer to your over simplistic question, for starters how about… road surface suitability for grip & condition, repair records, gradient, safety barriers, signage, lighting, weather conditions? runaway escape lane? CCTV to check other driver involvement?
I drove on that road last week from Bangkok to Mae Sot and the surface is in very good condition. There are regular escape roads/hills. The lighting on the road is pretty bad though. It was a terrifying road to drive in the dark but most other vehicles were sensible in their driving.

The million baht that the wife had in cash for his bail should have been confiscated and given to the young girl who witnessed her parents being murdered ????
500,000 bail and no doubt 500,000 in a brown envelope so that bail would be agreed. ???? ???? ???? ????

If you read the article, they had to do 50 squat jumps followed by another 60 because the kids still didn't own up. 110 squats. I challenge any fit adult to do this. My daughter has juvenile arthritis and being forced to do something like this would cause an enormous amount of pain and damage to her knees.
A better consequence would have been to keep the kids in at playtime and make them tidy/clean the whole classroom including the desk.

Funny, that's what almost every parent whose kid gets caught doing something wrong says............ "Nah, my kid wouldn't do that!"
????????????
(I remember my dad being astounded when, at 30, I told him some of the things I had done as a kid. And I never even told him half of it, nor the worst of it! ????????????
I wasn't a good kid. I was just really good at being a bad kid!)
Cheers!
I fully expect my kid to do some of things I did as a teenager. Recreational drugs, underage drinking, vaping (which is what all the kids seem to be doing today) etc and when he's old enough to understand, I'll chat with him about it. However, I said my kid wouldn't carry a gun or ride a motorcycle on the wrong side of the road and without a helmet. I stand by that.
Most, if not all of the 'bad' stuff I did was completely harmless and not likely to result in the death of someone.

If it was my kid riding a scooter on the wrong side of the road (no doubt without a helmet as well) and carrying a gun, I'd kick the sh!t out of him as well instead of filing a complaint. But maybe that's exactly why my kid wouldn't do that.

Absolute garbage. I would say a side effect of a vaccine is the least likely cause. It could have been drug use (stars are well known for drug abuse). But most likely some sort heart problem similar to what almost killed the footballer Errikson at the Euros last year.
Instead you're using this as a platform to spout your incoherent anti vaccine nonsense. Poor form.

Would their offer of shelter be the one that's situated on Soi Suan Phlu in Sathorn?
I'd rather be on the streets than in that hell hole.

Must of been a great day playing golf no caddies, the day i did it at Greenwood everyone was ecstatic, felt great, quickest round ever 3.5 hours
Last time I played without a caddie was in England in 2019. I lost 3 clubs after leaving them greenside at various holes and a couple of iron head covers. I won't even get into the amount of time I spent looking for my ball because I didn't see where it landed.
I never want to play without a caddie again.

Hi All,
I posted a few (3) years ago that my wife and I were having problems and may need a divorce. Well, despite marriage therapy, it's finally happened and we've been separated for the past 8 to 9 months. However, divorcing in her country is now quite complicated because of Covid and could take a number of years. These' are our circumstances.
We're both non-Thai (I'm British) she's from an EU country. Married in her country (2013). Marriage was never registered here in Thailand or the UK. We have 2 children and have lived here for 8 years. We have agreed on custody and overnight stays at my house along with child support (which is more extortion so she will agree to stay in Thailand). We both have good jobs here so alimony/spousal support isn't required. Assets have already been divided.
1) As I understand, because the marriage isn't registered here in Thailand, it will have to be a 'contested divorce' which is a it more complicated.
Is it therefore possible to register to the marriage now and then get divorced (uncontested) a month or so later?
2) If number 1 isn't possible, does the fact that we've lived here for an extended period of time make it easier to go through the process of a contested divorce?
Thanks a lot for your help

Operation Smile Thailand. They're a very worthy charity and the results of their work are visible immediately. With some charities, the money is swallowed and only a very small % of it actually goes to where it's needed without any tangible results. However, with OST all of your donations go towards paying for the operations. I've raised over 400,000 baht for them over the past few years (doing marathons and organising other events through work) and have volunteered on some of their missions to rural parts of Thailand. I was even able to watch a few cleft lip and skin graft operations from inside the OR. If there's ever a charity that people should donate to, this is it.

The Michelin website states that tyres should be rotated every 6 to 8,000 miles (roughly 10 to 13,000km). This is something that is often overlooked. I know that as a younger driver, I never rotated the tyres periodically. I'll have to check if the Suzuki centre did this at the 6 month service a couple of months ago.

I was fortunate enough to be able to get the Platinum CC from Kbank (unsecured in my name) about 6 years ago. Initially the limit was set at 125,000. Every few years they've increased the limit which is now at 250,000. They also offered me their Passion credit card which rewards extra points and discounts at various places (restaurants, golf courses, spas).
It is possible to be accepted but it all depends on where you apply. I was initially denied due to not having been in the country long enough so once I'd passed that amount of time, my colleague got her husband (a Kbank branch manager) to process my application which was then accepted. I don't know if it was solely because of him but I'm sure it helped.

Dunno if anyone has asked this question since T21...
When was the last time a soldier or soldiers in the Thai military killed so many people in one day?
April 10 at Ratchaprasong in BKK saw 25 people killed. That came close.
And none of this, of course, in actual military combat that the military is supposed to be for.
6th October 1976. More than 100 student protesters at Thammasat University were massacred. Quite possibly Thailand's most shameful day.

I used to suffer the same problems in Bangkok. The only solution was to buy my own car and drive. Now I don't have to suffer smelly drivers, waiting in taxi queues and crazy off meter quotes. Now I can be stuck in traffic with the air con set at the temperature I want, listening to the music I want and relaxed knowing that my kids are strapped safely into their car/booster seats instead of being at the mercy of our maniac taxi driver weaving in and out of traffic.

Lets get this straight - you think that the boy should be expelled simply because he was once caught vaping? A very medieval form of justice, don't you think?
No of course not. For getting caught doing something illegal once, he should be excluded (which he was). For getting caught again he should be permanently excluded. Which he is. What the boy now needs to do learn from his mistakes and not vape at his next school. It's the parent's job to make sure this happens.
If the school excluded him again for a couple of weeks, would he learn? Since he didn't the first time, I doubt he would the second time. They have to come down hard on people who carry out illegal activities on school grounds so that others don't think they can get away with it. I'm sure it's difficult pill to swallow as as his parent but IMO the best thing you can do accept the school's decision, let him face the music and learn from this experience. Fighting the school will not help him to learn.
As for the witnesses who said he wasn't doing it. Are these the same kids who were vaping (his mates)? Kudos to them for denying his involvement, but can their word really be trusted? When faced with a mate getting kicked out school for a 2nd time offence, friends will lie to save that person.

At the end day, what your son did was not only damaging to their health but illegal in this country. The school is right to throw the book at him. He was caught once and was then found out again. He says he didn't do it but do you really believe that? He was in a room with other students who were vaping and he wasn't joining in? He's a kid. If his mates were doing it, he was almost certainly doing it too. Even if he wasn't doing it, he was there. Guilt by association.
He obviously didn't take the first exclusion seriously and learn from his mistakes. Hopefully he will now. Stop blaming the school and give your kid the bollocking of a lifetime and move to another school where hopefully he can make new friends who will have a more positive influence on him.

Not drunk ? Thai cop in the early hours of the morning who has a vehicle accident ?...okay, sure, of course....????.
Anyhow, good for the driver that he made it out with only minor injuries.
Are you kidding me? How is this good that he only had minor injuries? All it does is allow him to think that his amulets work and therefore can drive drunk and recklessly whenever he wants without being harmed. How long until this moron kills somebody? I'm sorry but he should have either died or had life changing injuries so severe that either he can no longer drive or thinks more carefully about the way he drives.
