Why cant business help these police with some food. The retail price of some rice and Gop is very inexpensive for them. And police dont get paid enough. They barely survive. Very kineow. But when they have a problem the first friend they call is a policeman....
I doubt any one would have a problem giving a poorly paid cop a meal. The problem is that the police seem to have a sense of entitlement. They swan into an establishment order what they like and then think they can waltz out without paying because they are the police. And yes when there is a problem the first people you call ARE the police. This is not because you have given them endless free meals and think they should do it for that, they should do it because they are the police, the organisation set up to combat crime and paid for by the tax payers money irregardless of how low it is.
It is easy for people to pity the police because they are poorly paid. but they don't help themselves or the overall image of the police when they go around virtually every business (both registered and shady) every month to collect 'tea money' or as i call it 'leave me alone' money. They are nothing but thugs in uniform and coasting on free meals/coffees etc.
maybe if the image of the police were cleaned up and changed, so would peoples perception of them.

There are no "multiple Entry Tourist " Visas
TVs are issued by the number of entries permitted , 1,2 or 3.
There is no 90 day rule , you were misinformed.
i was told this at Singapore Thai Embassy earlier this year.
much appreciated for the info
it's not misinformation per se, it's THEIR rule, how they apply the law, in their region.
What's true in one border is not in another border.

I was told by Singapore Embassy today that all I can get from them is a 60 day single entry tourist visa. This would be fine but I need to leave the country 3 to 4 times during that period. can I do this at the airport? I am relocating and need to travel to my new country of domicile for signing leases etc. I will leave Thailand forever on 1st November.

"This case should be a lesson for everyone to be more careful and learn about other countries' rules, rather than doing things based on one's assumption of what is right or wrong, he said."
Well said Lt General , why on earth would someone think Thai laws were based on Right and Wrong
Like taking a loaded gun in hand luggage to Japan maybe?

I agree with Zonka. It is better to make this sort of complaint and give the management time to address the issues. Voting with your feet, as advocated by thaipod can be counter-productive if no one notices and/or the bar is convenient for Zonka.
Mobile phones are a curse and a blight on good service.
Just have to hope that management read this and address the issues. Good service in Bangkok is becoming as rare as rocking horse S*#t!

To the guys who run the joint:
What is going on in your pub? As a regular customer that comes in at least 4 times a week and has an average bill of 1600 - 2000 I am quite quickly going off the place.
Last week I was enjoying a few bottles of your delicious London Pride (260bht a bottle). After downing a 3rd bottle I ordered another only to be told that they had ran out. So i checked bin, on returning from the toilet I approached one of you guys and told you the situation and got the answer that there was probably stock upstairs. I was unsure if this was a statement or I was expected to run up and get my own drink from upstairs. I didn't want to interrupt your pool game anymore so i left!
On another visit after ordering Kilkenny, I had to send every pint back to be topped up.
The one that really got me annoyed is when I came in last week in the evening. After enjoying a few beers and some food with a friend I checked bin. I was then informed that the cashier had made a mistake because she was drunk and had charged my credit card over 10,000baht! I was then refunded over 10k in cash! Apart from the inconvenience of carrying a largish amount of cash around at 11pm at night I was dissapointed that credit cards were at the mercy of a drunken cashier. Also during all the time it took to sort this out, not even a pint on the house was offered.
This week whilst visiting during the afternoon with a friend, we were in need of a top up. 5 staff were eating lunch at the bar, 2 were playing pool and the other 2 were on their mobile phones. I actually rang the pubs landline to get served! This was all laughed off. (I also took a video of it on my mobile phone)
I really like the pub, but some fine tuning would not go amiss. For a start PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ban your staff from having their mobile phone during shift. All they do is play games and neglect the customers. (this occurs mainly during the afternoon and before 7 pm). If I am going to spend 260 baht for a bottle of beer in your bar, I would like it brought to me instead of me having to go to the bar to get it. Also please don't allow drunken members of staff to operate the the credit card machine. This is an accident waiting to happen (Again!)
On a lighter note, the pub is a nice pub and does nice food. Some of the staff (particularly the lady with all the tattoos, Vichi?) is very hard working and attentive to the customers. It has a great selection of beers (although not always downstairs!) it also is a great venue to watch all manner of sports.
I just feel that standards are beginning to slip recently and as a customer who spends a tidy amount there every month I feel I am entitled to vent my opinion.
The bar business in Thailand is a very difficult business and I don't believe that ANY pub can afford to lose regular well paying customers. Therefore I would appreciate if you could take my complaints seriously and try to address them.
Many Thanks

If you google 'murder in' and then put the name of each town she mentions, you see that at least one female tourist has either been raped or murdered there!
Lady touch indeed.

Everyday Sunday Roast (beef) - 290B
I'm not even going to do a write up on this one...
That's just like the slop we were given! Utter disgrace. Thats how it looks as it arrives at your table! Zoom in and you will see what I mean by the Jellyfish gravy.
Worst meal i've seen in 16 years in Thailand. I say 'seen' as we didnt eat that slop.

Zonkers - yer bonkers.
Went to The Old Buffalo Tavern (Buffalo Bills) for Sunday Lunch about a month ago.
Your post must be a wind up.
My Opinion:
Service, like a 5 star restaurant, really warm and friendly.
Food came on a piping hot plate (waiter warned plate hot and to be careful).
Nice portion size and food good quality.
Would definately return.
You Obviously work there! probably one of the worst meals i've had in years. Bill was in England so maybe standards have slipped whilst he was away. But god damn awful. we were there about a year ago and no complaints. New chef/cook?

Went to this 'restaurant' this week. Had the 'all week Sunday lunch'. All I can say is that it tasted like it had been there all week! Bloody atrocious and 'Bill' should hang his head in shame!
both myself and my wife had the Sunday lunch 1 beef, 1 pork. Presentation was terrible, looked like everything was vomitted onto the plate. The 'gravy?' was not gravy at all. It had the look and texture of either frogs spawn or dead baby Jelly fish. I had to ask the staff twice what it was and they confirmed it was gravy 'Thai Style' Also the beer from the tap was warm. maybe the cooler wasn't working properly.
When we came to check the bill they had added 1 extra pint on my bill which i pointed out. The lady behind the bar (an older lady) basically called me a liar and insisted i had drunk the extra pint. As i Had only two pints i was very sure of how much I had had.
Needless to say we left 90% of our meals (picked out the meat) paid and left. A total waste of 1,300 baht! We are frequent visitors to Hua Hin (we live in Bangkok) and will give this place a very wide berth in future. Bloody awful.
As 'Bill' was in UK we couldn't complain direct to him. Maybe this was why the food was garbage.
BILL - Introduce your staff to Bisto gravy granules and stop using the Jelly fish gravy!

Please let me teach you how to sh#t in the hole in the ground we call toilets! Oh and please drive carefully, don't do what the red bull guy did and mow down a policeman, Also please dont bring your sons of beauty queens, we have enough of our own who have a habit of throwing rocks at buses and driving their Mercs into bus stops and killing innocent people. And PLEASE if you have underage teenage daughters, please dont let them drive that hire car, we have had enough of our own who killed innocent people in a minibus accident that left innocents dead and kids without parents. Truth is there is only so much community service to go around and we cant be seen to be wasting it on you as we have so many deserving hiso's we could give it to.
Also we are understaffed at the moment because our top cop has just been caught with something like 2 billion baht of ill gotten gains in his house.

Old? diabetic and high blood pressure! Good luck selling your kidney!
On a serious note, the truck driver (if responsible) and his insurance should be paying for this. If he wasn't insured then he should be in jail. Bet this woman still votes for whoever gives her 300baht though. You reap what you sow!

Flush the toilets?
Very ironic that this comes from a country where the vast majority of public 'toilets' are nothing more than a hole in the ground with a ceramic footplate! I'm guessing when he says 'flushing the toilet' he means using the 29 baht plastic saucepan to scoop water from a fetid tank and attempt to force your human waste down an already clogged and filthy sewer pipe?

I'm guessing the labour cost will be much higher than the last time Thailand colluded with Japan to build a railway!

Has any one had experience of living/working in Malaysia and taking your common law wife/husband with you. The Malaysian embassy website states you can apply for a LTSV for a common law spouse as long as you have certification from the Embassy. What I want to know is Whose embassy? The British one will not do it.
Any help greatly appreciated.

GREAT to let us know, VIC, wish you all success and thanks for advertising your business here prominently in Thaivisa
I am not Vic. I am a genuine customer who is giving a shout out to a guy who did some work for me and did it well.

There is a new printing shop in Times square.
It's called Anoogo and is run/owned by a guy called Vic from the States. They do all types of printing from clothing, bags, stickers menu boards etc.
I had some printing done there and was very impressed by the quality and pricing - very reasonable.
Any way just thought I'd pass this on.
Anoogo is on the second floor of Times Square Building. Worth checking out.

This year I am thinking about 1 baht gold for her gift ... Together 8 months and everything so far is good so she has earned her way.
Since we are going to visit her family for Christmas I spent another 5,000 baht of gifts for everyone, baskets, cookies, remote car, little girl hand bags and a small tree with lights. I guess I am Santa ... Ho ho ho
Interesting.
Why would anyone buy Buddhists Christmas gifts?
Not their culture!
Because just as I celebrate Songkran and Loy Khratong with her, I want her to share in my cultural celebrations. It's called being in a relationship.
Good for you buying gifts for the family and wanting to share cultural celebrations. Might as well get used to looking after the extended family now, because as long as your in a relationship with your GF the whole family will be there every step of the way!

Hi all,
I have a you tube music video where 5 people are singing in it. How do I get to put lets say a name over the head of each singer? For example if I had a video of the spice girls singing, how could I put 5 guys names from the office above each spice girls head?
If you do know please give me a step by step easy way to do this as I am generally crap at this. Thanks Guys
