  1. Who knows what Fake news is today? I would be in Iran's interest to say the damage was massive in the hope that the US may sit back and think 'job done'.
  2. I knew 'Auf der Au' when he was in Zell, Germany. A nice young guy taking over the family business, who had a Thai wife and decided to move to Chang Mai. This picture is not a German breakfast but the guy is in business and so I imagine he catering for the local Farang market, mostly Brits, US etc. Next time you see him say hallo from bensheim.
  3. There are always lunatics looking for their chance of fame! For any doubters, watch the French documentary 'Shoah'. It's in 2 parts, each about 4 hours. Horrific.
  4. Why the Headline "Aussies..." It's just another ETA system that applies io all nationalities.
  5. I'm on holiday in Weymouth and today had a pint of Ruddles for £1.79. (Spoons).
  6. I did a 10 day retreat about 15 years ago in Kho Phangan and it was an amazing experience. I'd strongly recommend it. It's not expensive, and if you decide after a few days that it's not for you, no problem, you can just leave.
  7. I've used [email protected] many times and they are excellent. Quality cars and excellent drivers. Earlier this year I paid 1200 Baht and it's well worth the extra 100 or 200 Baht over a normal Taxi
  8. Living here as you do, I bow to your more relevant knowledge. My initial comments were just about the improvements I have seen over the past few years, I wasn't attempting to generalise or speak of the whole county.
  9. Sad to read about your experiences. Maybe try turning off your PC, leaving your bedroom and going out to meet some real people.
  10. Roi Et is a rural province? But I have no knowledge of the farming community etc and just wrote about what I have seen. From a Farang point of view I think things have vastly improved over the past few years.
  11. I disagree. Because of Covid I haven't been here for the past 2 years, but overall, comparing now with 10 years ago things here have vastly improved. I refer to Roi Et and Jomtien. Pavements have been repaired, new roads built (RE) recreation areas cleaned up and improved. In Jomtien the beaches have been massively expanded, trees planted and generally it's much cleaner and tidier than in the past. A huge improvement over the Thaksin years. A new and friendly Immigration Office in RE is also great. Sure, the corruption still goes on but I read encouraging signs that some changes are announced even if not implemented.
  12. I recently used Pattaya Taxi. Swampy to Jomtien was 1200Tbh and Jomtien to DM 1500Tbh
  13. Come to Roi Et, loads of them, all nationalities!
