Was a minor disturbance and misunderstanding....and the guys were askied to pay $50 for the damages....
But.... drunk and spoiled... stupidity prevailed..and they decided for a confrontation....
The gas station security didn't reported to the police... easy to forget everything...but..not...them insisted in being stupid..and accused the POLICE of a FOREIGN country of ROBBERY, on international news.
Hard to believe....they didn't formally apologized for their action and keep insisting in their version of the events...
They deserve what they got from the Brazilian Police... the present consequences.....and what is coming.....
A $50 bill...already becomes millions in suspended sponsorship....

It is not just expensive to use credit and debit cards here. Some ATM charges the $5 fee plus 2% to 3%. To use in local business, is also the risk in giving card info for later use by scammers. In my opinion, it is better to use cash for all purchasing in Thailand.

For people looking for investment......Chiang Rai may be the target. Here developers still building condos and mix use townhouses, and... since 2013, I still hearing that Chinese investors are buying everything they can.. Some of the reasons may be that Chiang Kong and Chiang Saen are the main entry to Thailand from China, by road and river, and land prices still no so high like in Chiang Mai, another area that Chinese are investing.

Foreigners living here always will be a target. You will be amazed how many Thai people, specially the wrong ones, knows that most retired foreigners need to have good money on its bank account to get the visa extension.

Look at the Wiangbua Mansion by the Market Tanin and close to the Rajabath University...... Last year the monthly rental was THB 8000 for a very nice room. Great location.

Cargo shorts are the best thing I found in Thailand to go everywhere with all my gear in safe places, and sandals... the most practical footwear if you follow the customs entering homes and temples TIT!....

The best city, the best weather, the best food, the best day and night life, the best Medicare...San Diego, California.
Rent can be expensive there, but I will share some good "secrets".... after living there for many years.
In the South areas of San Diego, like National City and Chula Vista, home of the Hispanic and Filipino Community, rent is lower, and many and cheap choices for food. Best location will be close to the trolley line, for fast and easy commute to Old Town - Downtown and the Tijuana Border. Those areas are close to the beach too. The East side of Downtown is also a home of cheap housing and food, but not so close to beaches, and the trolley line.
Rentals can be a little higher than other US cities, but....you will be living in San Diego! Other expenses may be equal or lower.
About Medicare. Chula Vista is the home of the Sharp Medical Center, with a good selection of medical offices affiliated with Medicare.
The proximity with Tijuana may be very convenient in some cases. Medication in Tijuana is up to 10 times cheaper that in San Diego, and many Americans choose Tijuana for good and cheaper Dental Treatment, or a cheap Beach Vacation in Rosarito and Ensenada, with a selection of fish food and meats rare in San Diego...including the famous Baja Lobster, Beef and Fish Tacos, and Margaritas, and the La Fonda Motel Buffet by the Beach
Better to stop here.... I am getting nostalgic!

I live very close to the immigration office in Chiang Rai. Sometimes I just stop by to say Hello to the officers because they are bored and sad without any people to take care. Seating in a confi seat and having a free coffee under a good AC is a plus. Only one time I spend more than 20 minutes there, and was because a very nice looking officer from Mae Sai named Oi was visiting the place...and she seated by me to practice her English.
I am married......If not...I was ready to asking her for a date. What a smile!

My wife is selling her Honda Click automatic she bought it new in 2008, now with just 9700 kilometers. Pristine condition and always serviced by the local Honda Dealer.

Yes flights to BKK are cheap now if you can book well in advance. But when you have to go on short notice it's not so much.AIR ASIA ONLINE ON SOME DAYS AND TIMES EVERY WEEK AS LOW AS 700 THB TO DON MUENG AIRPORT
Currently I'm using Thai-smile and paying 1780 each way. Next time I'll try flying to DMK
If not needs to fly on specific days and times, CM to BK by AirAsia can be as low as 1500 THB round trip not paying extras. I did many times this year.
