Correct, those are public holidays but everything is open and alcohol is served.

Obviously they don't want the tourist dollar with their ridiculous 2am closing time in a city known for a 5am or later closing. I thought Thailand was desperate for tourist dollars. Looks like they've got too muchof it. That's why they need to close everything as early as possible.

"strongly enforce all rules over this long holiday weekend. They also stated they will crackdown on entertainment venues open past legal closing times and motorbike racing" So it looks like after this long weekend it will be all back to normal and this is only a temporary thing. No early closing after this weekend would be my guess. Ain't gonna go down well with tourists if this 2am closing <deleted> goes on forever. And Thailand wants tourists to come back lol

Not all people are old, gramps. You can stick to your 7pm bedtime.

Apparently, Walking St closed again at 2am this morning from what I've heard. I've also been told by a Thai girl it's because there's the new big Police chief that has come and replaced the past one.

Most close around 5am. Flexx is known to start getting busy around 5am and go all the way until the late hours of the morning.

Nice to know, but that comment added zero value to this thread.

Yes, that was on 10th October and they closed everything down by 1am on the 10th Oct. But on the 12th October there's nothing that would suggest an early closing prior to 2am.

Anyone know why they closed Walking St Discos closed before 2am today? Basically lights went out for all discos and all patrons were thrown out back on Walking St. As far as I know, there's no alcohol bans from 12am on the 12th October, we just had one 2 days ago. Or was it some big wig Police chief coming to inspect to make sure everything closes by 2am?

Anyone have recommendations on cheap haircut places not too far from the soi Buakhao, soi Diana, soi Honey area? Just need my head shaved with clippers every few weeks.

Maximum time to stay in Thailand on a tourist Visa
bbi1 replied to garrya's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Get a METV, get up to 9 months. Basically 90 days each time by doing 30 day extensions after the 60 day entries, exiting the country every 90 days and coming back in. -
Must be BKK thing. Can confirm salad bar is 139 baht, as I just had it today. Promotion poster on window shows 199 baht on top right in small writing crossed and 139 baht in big letters as the price.

Arrived back after over 2 years not being here. Been on an ED visa and a few METV prior since 2014. Arrived on a business class ticket to BKK and took the Fast Track lane. The Lady immigration officer took a minute or so looking through my past METV and extensoon stamps and her computer screen quite intensely. Then asked about 5 questions, like how long you plan to stay, what do you do for work, which hotel you stay at, do you haveThai friends here, and she wanted the phone number of one Thai friend, which she entered into the computer, plus also my number. Never had in the past them asking if you have Thai friends and wanting their number. Usually in the non-Fast Track the person checking arrval cards ask you for your phone number and writes it on the card. Anyway ,after all that and maybe 5 mins later, she stamped the 45 days. Wonder if a female officer rather than a male one usually grills us more? Better to walk to a male one instead? Why would she want a.Thai friend's phone number? Anyone been asked that before? This was also my first ever visa exempt entry.

You're correct. Just went there today and it's 259 baht now, up from 209 baht from a couple of years ago. Inflation is hitting hard. Looking at the poster on the window, quick glance only, it looks like the salad bar is only 139 baht. If this is the case, better save that 110 baht and use that on another meal somewhere else.

Do you have to change phone numbers when buying this new SIM or can you transfer your current number over?
-
What the code to dial for this offer? Thanks
-
What the code to dial for this? Thanks Do you need to go to the AIS shop and ask them for a new SIM to replace the old SIM to get this offer? I have an old SIM from a few years back.
-
Does AIS still have the 30 day full speed offers? A couple of years ago it was 199 baht per month for full speed 1 GB by dialing: *777*984*1218# Does anyone know what are the current offers for AIS and the codes?

Has the Kasikorn branch at Avenue also closed down? If so, does anyone know the next best branch near Avenue for current Kasikorn customers? I think there's also a Kasikorn and Krungsri at Central Festival. I presume these are still open? That would be closer to Avenue, if walking.
