1. Next best thing. Make friends with the technicians in your condo.
2. Try making friends with the security guards at your condo. Start local in your building.
3. Looking to rent a scooter in Patong for 4 days. Any recommended reputable shops and what rates are typical?
4. I have a Rabbit Card from BKK used on the BTS. I see the Phuket Smart Bus also uses a Rabbit Card, however it looks slightly different with a "Phuket Pass" written on it from a video I've seen on Youtube. Can the BKK Rabbit Card be used in Phuket? Are they basically the same thing?
5.
Police spokesman Pol Maj-Gen Achayon Kraithong said that most of the tourists were in Thailand on tourist visas or VoA.
Why would anyone coming here on a tourist visa or VOA be buying luxury cars let alone any sort of vehicle?
6. Thanks for the suggestions. Noise late at night or early morning is of no concern to me. This is a side trip for a few days and I plan on hitting up the nightclubs until the early hours of the morning anyway.
7. You sound exactly like that inconsiderate p-rick, you're another selfish p-rick right here. No, it's not ok to smoke in condo rooms. It's only legal without annoying (e.g., smell) or disturbing people in surrounding areas, which this p-rick and you are probably doing.
8. Spoke to the Juristic office, smoking of any substance is not allowed in the rooms. She also pointed to the fire alarms in the rooms. She said smoking on balconies are allowed. Anyone have a link to the law stating that smoking is banned on balconies? She said next time it happens, tell them and they will come and issue a fine to that person.
9. Landlord already has one of those rubbery things installed below the door of the room. Some smell still came in that day the hallway stunk big time of weed. I'll have to bring it up with the Juristic office. Not sure how much weight being a tenant has though.
10. I agree it's rude as f-uck that someone's stinking up the hallways and other people's room. Not sure what's the building policy for smoking anything is. Guess I should ask at the Juristic office. No issues with people smoking tobacco as far as they don't stink up the hallways and my room.
11. There's some inconsiderate w-anker on the same floor of my condo who seems to be smoking weed in their room. Probably some short-stay tourist. Got out of the lift and the whole corridor of the floor stinks big time of weed. Also, can't open up the balcony door as often there's a smell of weed that blows in from somewhere. Is smoking weed in a room of a condo legal? I read that it's only allowed within your residence and without annoying (e.g., smell) or disturbing people in surrounding areas: https://www.timeout.com/bangkok/what-you-should-know-about-cannabis-use-in-thailand https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/pot-smoking-tourists-not-welcome-thailand-says-health-minister-2022-08-17/
12. Are there any written or practical driving tests that needs to be done, or since I have a licence in English and an IDP they will just issue it with the correct paperwork and fee paid? I presume everything is issued the same day and shouldn't take more than a few hours? Any issues in just booking a Grab or Bolt driver to take me to the Banglamung Land Transport Office and back into Pattaya City?
13. Do they raid only Thai patron places? I don't think a Walking St club has been raided before. Probably wouldn't go down too well if they did.
14. Anyone have hotel suggestions in the 500 - 1,000 baht per night range within walking distance to Bangla Rd? Seeing if any of you guys have any hidden gems before I go through pages of searching on Agoda.
15. Wear a money belt underneath the clothes if it's that worrying.
16. That's good to know things should be back to normal next week. I'm hearing similar from a few different chicks too.
17. This is starting to get a bit concerning. Another 2 reports from different people about being questioned in depth by BKK immigration on arrival. This time by a two male IO's. Seems it doesn't matter if you go to a male or female one. Did you both use the Fast Track lane like me or the regular queue? The most concerning is the last report, where he was pulled aside into another room for an extra grilling.

Ok boomer ????????
20. I feel sorry for whoever lives next door to me. They must be woken up daily by the constant moaning of the girl in my room at the very early hours of the morning ????????
21. I'm guessing a lot of them were tourists getting their extensions done, that's why there were so many people there.
22. Ok, thanks. I've come in visa exempt and did an early 30 day extension. I presume I need to copy that page with those stamps in addition to the photo page of passport.
23. Um, lots of foreigners in Thailand means lots of foreigners spending money. Can't you put two and two together? lol Well, maybe expect for the penny pinching retirees living on their pensions counting every baht they have, but the majority of people at immigration today looked under 50.
24. I think you added one too many zeros ????????
