  1. Because of space constraints in my condo, the only place I have room for the clothes washer is on the balcony. I have a mechanic running a water pipe to the balcony and realize I will need an electrical outlet and drain( I have both). In my last condo I had a front loader that I spent 28,000 bht on and was happy with it. That was located inside my condo in the bathroom. I am looking for suggestions for a good machine that can stay outside. Are the top loader plastic ones the way to go? I plan on having a cover on it when not in use to protect it from the elements.

    Thanks for any recommendations

  2. First off, a root canal should only be done by an endodontist. This is a root canal specialist whose practice is limited to root canal procedures and has had alot of specific training. They will usually be able to deal with more complex root canal work than your general dentist whose training is limited. As far as dangers exist, that's just absurd. If you want to save your teeth then having root canals is very normal over the course of ones life. My father was a board certified endodontist in the US and never had issues with any patients being ill from a root canal. He also passed recently at 90 with all his original teeth!

  3. Mobi,

I also have suffered from horrible stomach cramps for 2 years. I checked into Bumrungrad for 5 days and had every test there was. The Dr. was also in search of gallstones. All the tests came back negative. My regular Dr. at Bumrungrad suggested I see a gastro Dr. Who specialized in motility. So I went to see this Dr. and he also gave me Creon. It seems to work well for me. Maybe he would be someone who old help you.

  4. Pool, tennis court, sauna, massage, squash, Muay Thai, secured parking for cars, badminton, ping pong, aerobics, yoga ???

    No...ok, I'll stick with Fairtex.

Its not competing with Fairtex..Royal Cliff competes with Fairtex. ..Fairtex is not convenient to those of us in Jomtien . The Bear Gym is a weight training facility with new equiptment, good aircon and reasonable yearly fees. For the average to above average person looking to stay in shape, its fine

  5. I guess we will wait for Tropo's review to see where the Bear Gym stands in the overall fitness picture here. Yes, its not centrally located to everyone, but I think it will be very successful. The 2300bht pm is geared to the russians in the jomtien area and he will get that. The 7500bht geared to the full time residents is very fair and competitive..he will get that also with no problem. One word of caution, there is alot of road construction right in the area of this gym and one would be better coming from Sukhumvit as opposed to Jomtien 2nd Rd.

The Bear Gym might be a little light on cardio equiptment but he has room for expansion on the 2nd floor and I think if he does the business and it warrants more equiptment he will get it..money doesnt seem to be an issue there.

  6. Location desired and budget would be helpful. Low season rates pretty much everywhere. Try agodo.com for the more mainstream places. Decent Aircon rooms with wifi are in the 700-850 baht range. Some a little cheaper but kind of dodgy at the 5-600 range.

  7. I stopped in today and met the owner of Bear Gym. All new equiptment and fully aircon. It is well suited for the serious bodybuilder as well as the guy just trying to stay in shape. 2 floors of machines and cardio and it all looks good. The owner seems like a very nice guy. 7500 baht per yr and 2300 on a per month basis. Its located in a row of shophouses on Soi Watboon between the new jomtien 2nd road and sukhumvit. Looks great for the price...clean, lots of equiptment and plenty of aircon.

  8. Dear Sheryl,

Are there particular dentists you would recommend from personal experience at the Dental Hospital? Right now I need someone who does fillings, but would like to know about other specialists there for future need of implants, extractions, etc.

And wondering how their prices compare? From outside looks like an expensive place.

    Thanks

    Dear Maxme,

Does Dr. Sun do fillings? Also wondering how prices at Bangkok Smile Dental compare.

    Thanks

I can highly recommend Dr. Suivimol at dental hospital. She is a US trained operative dentist and does filling only. My father was a dentist so I have a good feel for those who are good.

  9. Sorry failed posting, really in pain. Basically, what do I do at the hospital. Waht exploratory work i s reasonable to rule out glaucoma, tumours, and the more serious facial, cranial stuff. Know I have deviated septum already and this is where the problem radiates from to the frontal sinus above eye.

What surgery is generally available, that sort of thing?

I have seen this Dr. and he is excellent. His specialty is exactly what you are looking for and he is trained at the best med schools in the world. He is at Bumrungrad and has office hours daily. His prices are inline with other private hospitals, so about 1000-1400 for an office visit.

  10. recommended by the kitchen studio, I'm using the Culligan Good Water Machine ( under the sink ) as well, 5 years no complain. the dealer offers a filter replacement programme, and comes to replace the 3 filters regularly ( in Bangkok ). be reminded that the replacement parts are quite expensive here.

My friend is also using Culligan is in Bangkok as well. Not sure if that service if offered here. I will check

  11. The best and freshest Seafood Restaurants around pattaya will either be the High Priced places in Pattaya/Jomtien or more relaxed less expensive Restaurants on the Waterfront or Beaches further south than Jomtien in NaJomtien (Ban Amphur, Bang Saray, or Sattahip).

Preecha's in Ban Amphur is fantastic. And very reasonable.

I eat there alot and its always good and consistent

  12. I am currently trying to sell a valuable commercial property in Pattaya. Its located right in the middle of a high traffic area and there is currently a business operating there. If someone can suggest a good, reliable broker in Pattaya who sells commercial properties like hotels, bars/guesthouses etc I would appreciate it. This is a freehold property and all the info is available.
