  1. I first came for a month. I admit I met a women in Chiang Mai. But spent the last two weeks traveling with out her.

Went home and realized I liked what I had seen but in one month of traveling I had not really seen any thing. Came back for 6 months hooked up with the girl in Chiang Mai and proceeded to travel and see more. Now married and extremely happy with my wife most of the time. Enjoy the culture and the scenery.wai.gifsmile.png

  2. Setting a great example for children showing them how to squander a precious resource. They will in their lifetime see the day when there will be no precious water to throw. Only childhood memories. This tradition started out sparingly applying water to a persons face and shoulders followed by prayer. Today there is no prayer only the desire to drown a stranger. The big winners are the bars and lodging places.

    Where does the water go?

    To Marstongue.png

Stick around Bangkok and you will see it in the rainy system You have been misinformed.

  3. I'm surprised there isn't MORE violence.

Like when you're dressed clean and nice for dinner, at night, and get buckets of water thrown on you ruining your outing, you're not "playing" ... it's just violence really, why isn't there more RETALIATORY violence? No I don't mean water back, talking about unwelcome water when you've got no water and aren't playing.

Sounds like you are talking about one of the advantages of living in Pattaya.tongue.png

Here in Chiang Mai you are relatively safe at 6:30 to 7:00 at night.wai.gif

yes, my northern soul mate, there is excellent honey here in northern thailand, but, unfortunately most of the honey sellers in the local markets are charlatans bah.gif.pagespeed.ce.-cCHYEZ1Lo.gif width=19 alt=bah.gif.pagespeed.ce.-cCHYEZ1Lo.gif>

i dont need to go to the market...the old boy who lives at the back of my land has cavity bees and tree bees in his plot,,so when ever he needs a drink and that is usually every day when he has the honey or comb he stumbles in with a few bottles bees and all haha

Wish we had such a natural supply so close...we go through a lot of honey. I just made 2 bottles of pickled beetroot with honey.....outstanding it is...and that is just after 2 days, supposed to leave it for at least a week, but I could not wait.

The big black bees are thai bumble bees I was told and apparently they do not make so much honey, not like honey or wild bees, only enough for their offspring and its a more diluted syrup type stuff.

Anyway, thats what I was told, but not sure correct or not....

possibly you are correct These are the biggest bees i have ever seen jet black//

/As far as i know there is only 1 man in the village who is brave enough to get their honey,,but as he is a complete angry person i dont want to ask him to get me honey

where did you say you get your honey again

If I could get a regular wild supply from a reliable person, I would get that.

But, as it is, we buy it direct from a very good farm by the case...12 big bottles at a time...usually lasts us about 4 months, maybe 5.

Does your wild bee guy put the honey in recycled whiskey bottles ? I hate that, love whiskey, but not in my honey....always comes out smelling of it.

I was under the assumption that the difference in real honey came from the source the bee's use.

On a side note how do you tame a wild bee?

According to Noppadon, Thaksins legal advisor, his client bears no ill-will towards the Democrat Party members, yet he has been constantly hounded by them.

According to Noppadon.....the sun shines out of Thaksins ass.

He asked the Democrat Party to refrain from such acts, as they have ruined the nation's economy, fueled and prolonged the ongoing political conflicts. He also claimed that various unjust accusations have been lodged against Mr. Thaksin after the 2006 Coup detat.

Those damn Democrats and their rice scam, first car scam, tablet scam and according to Jatuporn they also caused the flooding in 2010. What a pair of worms, a man would stand up and sai "I have made mistakes, I regret them, I'm sorry, I hope that Thais enjoy the holiday and stay safe. Not these two, I'm right, I'm always right, if we could get rid of this whole democracy thing (which was never the end goal) I could be the great ruler, add to my billions and perpetrate more scams on poor Thais. This is my yearly rant to ensure that no one forgets me. What a pathetic excuse of a man.

You are being kind to him. You use the word man I wouldn't if I was giving my true thoughts. I would also get a holiday if I did. The damage he has done and continues to do to Thailand is enough to turn a well man's stomach if he was to look at it all at once. Best taken piecemeal.

  6. I see he sent GK to do it for him and in just the way you predicted.

They are as predictable as traffic lights.

It is the mentally deficient and those with behavioural dysfunction who will behave in an unpredictable manner.

The above is the condescension I am talking about.

All I ask is that you treat other forum members with respect.

See John. Predictable as traffic lights.

Yes he is as predictable as traffic lights. How ever he stops on green and goes on red?

  7. ".....a break in politicians' activities during the five-day holiday, which began on Saturday"

Positioning this thing as some sort of benign debate between Politicians has the underlying motive of trying to normalize into acceptable form, the eradication of Electoral and Parliamentary Democracy.

Even to the point of amusedly aggrandizing the guy seeking to establish a "Civilian Dictatorship"

I thought I would read one of his posts on a very happy rthread and the had to turn it into a political thing.

Even Suthep took part in the festivities.

People's Democratic Reform Committee chief leader Suthep Thaugsuban slowly rode a motorcycle through Lumpini Park taking water hits and receiving greetings from supporters.

I like the way that they conducted the festival at their rally site. They supplied the water so you knew it was safe and the vessels to use .

Here in Chiang Mai there will be people with skin and eye irritation due to the water. Some very serious. I do how ever support the festival. I just wish some would be a little less ambitious in how they carry on. So far have tried to avoid it only got hit once with a squirt gun. No big deal. Not going to go near the moat unless it is inside a vehicle and I can just watch.

  8. I said to re-read my post.

Take remedial reading if you need to, I can wait.

Another day, more condescension. The day the PTP is honest will be the day you can reply a post without being condescending.

I bet if you reply it will involve demonizing me, condescending me, quoting me out of context, changing the subject or cherry picking me.

If you don't reply then that shows you can't reply without doing the above.

    Go on…Prove me wrong.

All I ask is to treat other forum members with respect.

I see he sent GK to do it for him and in just the way you predicted.

  9. What was her husband doing in the conflict zone? Protecting the protesters (like the popcorn man); or for firing at the? Maybe France24 have the clip with answers.

He was protecting Bangkok from brute barbarians and arsonists.

    True words.

Painful as all get out for the Thaksin employees.

Can't blame them who wants every one to know the man they work for is a morally bankrupt individual with no thought for human life. Yes he does have employees that have sank to his level so they don't mind.

They how ever don't want us to know the level they have sank to so they deny all accusations such as 2010 against their employer.

Not pointing fingers just stating facts.

Well one other thing some of them can't see past the puppets good looks so they also deny.

  10. No, not at all useless. We have them sent every week from Makro and although I don't read Thai either, I can work out most of it from all the Pretty Pictures and the Prices....ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!!!

So let me get this right, you get flyers through the door which have a photo of every item on promotion, and although the words are in Thai, and you don't read Thai, you look at the numbers next to the photo and somehow figure that that must be the price for that item! You are quite brilliant!

    Northernjohn meet Torrens54, your saviour.

Is it fair to assume that you're not from the North? You're certainly not as blunt. In fact, quite sharp, by all accounts.

I wonder if you have to get a Thai to fill in the subscription form?

surely you are joking aren't you?

No I am not I am stating facts. I get no flyers delivered to my door.

I am glad that you did finally contribute some thing to the post.

Also glad to see that you are a devoted follower of mine.

  11. Correct, I'm not saying that. Only, and not for the first time and not even for the first time this year to you, only that with the army involved in gunfights you are bound to get unfortunate incidents.

Now if I remember correctly you had no problem with the mother of the slain nurse to seek justice. May I assume you have no problem with the wife of the slain colonel to seek justice too?

Based on the OP, what broadly and specifically is the justice the comprehensibly distressed widow seeks? Based on the OP, it's clear only that her husband - who BTW was a colonel, as has been corrected by another poster - was killed. Does she have any idea of who may have killed him, where, when, why, how, based on the OP?

Based on the OP, what does anyone know of who may have killed her husband the colonel? Based on the OP, is her case and its pursuits entirely personal or are politics involved? Whom, based on the OP, has she seen and when, what has she been told, by whom; what to date does she know about the specific circumstances involving her husband's unfortunate death in the line of duty?

What are her specific complaints against the "system," and against the government, the police, the army, the courts, MSM and whomever else, based on the OP? Has she spoken to Suthep? Abhisit? Yingluck or YS's representative? Ministry of Justice? Attorney General? The army?

    Based on the OP.

Are you lazy? Why do you post if you didn't even bother to read the article this thread is based on? Here's from the article:

"The day that PM Yingluck [shinawatra] said she wasn't being treated fairly by the National Anti-Corruption Commission with regards to the rice-pledging scheme, I chuckled inside because when other people called on her for justice, she did not care.

"I personally asked her - as chief of the government - to give me justice, but she did nothing.

"There has been no progress in the investigation into the death of soldiers. The relatives of those who were killed in 2010 asked Yingluck to change the investigation team's leader from [Department of Special Investigation director general] Tarit Pengdith [but he has never been replaced].

"How many innocent people have lost their lives and not been given justice yet?" Nicha asked.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Re-read my post so you can see that she presents no specific injustices or allegedly wrongful actions by anyone. She only criticizes the prime minister who she can easily get a meeting with and wants the police investigator replaced. What does she know that the PM and police investigator don't know, if anything? What specifically and in particular does she want investigated? Yes, people died - I have read about it for years and so have many others. I have read how her husband died with his boots on. What more does she need or want to know?

Or is there a can of worms here?

Yes, re-read my post to see clearly that the OP is a moralistic lecture and a strict scolding rather than a specific account of her trials and tribulations in pursuit of an investigation, and that she never says specifically what she wants a determination or an exposition of. When one reads her lecturing and her scolding, she sounds like a lot of absolutist posters here.

In stead of covering up for the present administration at every chance you get why don't you read the Ladies post and then reread your retreating post. A great and honest speech and you have to deride it because it does not speak down to your low standards.

  12. Well I will admit I did not read the responses How ever I did read in full her plea.

I noticed she was honest and up front with her speech.

She did not speak of legal and illegal she spoke of right and wrong.

A big difference She spoke of justice she did not speak of it is illegal or legal because the law says this or that.

A truly great lady not afraid to speak the truth.wai.gifwai.gifwai.gifwai2.gif

  13. eeeeeh. they have them in every country including Thailand. don't get out much?

Don't read Thai but thank your for your useless post.

No, not at all useless. We have them sent every week from Makro and although I don't read Thai either, I can work out most of it from all the Pretty Pictures and the Prices....ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!!!

I didn't know you could subscribe to them. Where I come from they are delivered weekly or in the news papers which are in English and I would subscribe to. We also had a weekly free one with many of the store flyers in it. That was one of the ways they made their money.

I wonder if you have to get a Thai to fill in the subscription form?

  14. "Once more into the breech..."

    elxl.jpg

Great picture. Shows the spirit of the festival.

I was into water fights back home in North America in my 20's and 30's. In my older age I no longer have the enthusiasm but I do enjoy the people who do have it. I do not go around in the day and so far have only been gunned down once. It was not a big deal as I knew the risk being as it was not dark yet. I also go unarmed.

Sad to see people die but that is part of it. We all know it will happen but continue to participate.

It's like riding a motor bike every one knows there will be accidents yet they continue to ride them.

I do believe that the police should be arresting those throwing water at motor bikes on the highway or roads where the motor bikes are traveling at a high rate of speed. In some cases it is unavoidable. So just go slow and take the water. Try to look on it as a celebration for all who wish to enjoy and as the pictures show there are many.

Don't be a miserable old git and look for some thing to condemn.

  15. I can just imagine Ying baby sitting on the back of a motosai in skimpy top and pants, having a bucket of water thrown in her face and white powder vigorously rubbed on her face and breasts. Other perverts are probably imagining it as well.

Thanks for the visual image...she is arguably the most attractive prime minister on the planet...

Well she is OK from the neck up. Coincidentally that is also the part of her that is empty.wai.gif

  16. I miss all the advertising flyers from the main supermarkets back home.

Every week I would go through them and check out the best deals in town.

I see nothing wrong with saving a few baht here and there. But I do not go out of my way to do it as often the cost of transportation will off set the bargain unless I buy in huge quantities.

Which is some thing I have a habit of doing and often wind up with to much food on hand.

As for sales all I can add is the various type sausages that sell for 1,140 baht a kilo sell for under 700 baht a kilo in Makro on the super highway.

John, what kind of sausages sell for 1,140 bht discounted to 700 bht a Kg at Makro ?

    regards Worgeordie

The sliced sausages you see at Tops and Rimping for 114 baht for 100 grams. Italian, pepper, and the like. Depends on what they have in stock at the one on the Highway. Not always the same ones.

  17. Does anyone know the TRANSFAT content of KFC Thailand products? Because specifically TRANSFATS are extremely unhealthy for everyone. It is not true that some "foods" are not unhealthy by definition. Transfats are.

This is about KFC in the USA who are responding to this public health threat:

NEW YORKKFC said Monday it is phasing out trans fats in cooking its Original Recipe and Extra Crispy fried chicken, Potato Wedges and other menu items, but hasn’t found a good alternative yet for its biscuits.

Health experts say trans fats raise levels of artery-clogging cholesterol and contribute to heart disease.

    http://www.nbcnews.com/id/15474488/ns/health-diet_and_nutrition/t/kfc-stop-using-trans-fats-some-items/

I know of no such movement in Thailand to eliminate transfats. So it's probably all over the place, most likely in bakery and bread products as well which are rarely ingredient labeled in Thailand.

More about transfats. Hard to avoid in Thailand if you don't cook ALL of your own food:

    http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/trans-fat/ART-20046114

Are not most of the trans fats removed by removing the skin?

  18. If Suthep and the PDRC hadn't 'shutdown Bangkok' and ruined the Thai economy by detracting tourism and investment, at the same time as weakening the value of the Baht then perhaps the shortage of funds wouldn't have occured. The PDRC and the 'anti-government supporters' are cutting off the nose to spite the face and as always is the poor or average standing of society that feel the pinch.

Tourism accounts for only 6% of the countries business and it has not been hit that bad only in Bangkok.

I am getting less for my Canadian $ than before the grass roots people rose up and said no more corruption. If you have been around for a while you would know that was before Suthep came along and united the many different honesty seeking groups. I was to the understanding that the economy grew through the first quarter not shrank.

You have been listening to too many red shirts.

  19. I can just imagine Ying baby sitting on the back of a motosai in skimpy top and pants, having a bucket of water thrown in her face and white powder vigorously rubbed on her face and breasts. Other perverts are probably imagining it as well.

Well I like the theme of your post but I can not imagine her in skimpy tops and pants. Kind of a big turn off.cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

As for Suthep over Thaksin I would defiantly pick Suthep. He in my opinion would recognize the reason and the spirit of the whole thing. I am not the type to go picking out people who have no respect for the enjoyment the people get out of it. Thaksin would probably put one in with some of his opponents when he was in power and we no longer see.sad.png
