  1. My elderly mother is visiting me for a few weeks in Pattaya and I have discovered upon her arrival that she cannot walk for more than a minute anymore. Unfortunately she has been trying to hide this but her condition has deteriorated somewhat. Does anyone know if it is possible to rent a wheelchair for her for a few weeks or if there are any wheelchair shops? I am located at the Edge condo on corner of Pattaya Sai 2 Soi 13 Thanks for any help on this!
  2. Never heard of taxis adding an airport luggage charge. Is that new?
  3. Just wondering if its possible to take a GRAB taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport when arriving from the arrival hall, and if so where the pickup point is?
  4. I'm looking to rent a small car for a few weeks and looking for suggestions for a reasonably priced car rental agency in central Pattaya offering full insurance. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  5. I'm looking for recommendations on where to buy a quality hearing aid in Pattaya. My elderly father is coming to visit and is looking for his first hearing aid. Would appreciate any suggestions on where to go. Thanks in advance.
  6. Maryvit is an excellent school, plus if you are looking for your child to build confidence, Maryvit has arguably the best drama teachers in Pattaya. Their language teachers are also very good. All teachers are Thai. They dont employ foreign teachers but dont let this stop you. Hope this helps.
  7. Take a baht bus from the bus station and get off at the end of Beach Rd, near walking St. You can walk straight down walking street to Bali Hai pier, not far. Don't purchase a ferry ticket from touts at Bali Hair in advance, buy it when you enter the boat, only 30 baht one way. You mention you are looking for recommendations for Koh Larn on a budget. I suggest you hire a motorbike on arrival to avoid the hefty fares. The quality of accommodation is not balanced to the price on Koh Larn. You will spend more than you expect for decent accommodation even on a budget. I can't offer specific suggestions as usually stay at one of the more premium options, but price to value not the same as on the mainland.
  8. Would NOT recommend Maharaj Indian Restaurant on Soi 13/4 Beach Road. Food is not particularly good quality, meats are dry, tastes not balanced and breads/roti's are not fresh. Tandoori was also dry and overcooked. I was there last week and would never return. Indian by Nature as jacko45k suggest is very good, but certainly not cheap. More of a fine dining style place. I've had success with Tarka House (same soi as Maharaj). Good value overall.
  9. Looking for suggestions for a fishing charter/boat to contact in Sattahip. Would prefer to prearrange rather than turn up on the day and troll the fishing boats. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
  10. Richard Barrow also just retweeted: The CCSA has just confirmed that although new registrations for Test & Go remain suspended, travellers who have already been approved can enter #Thailand according to the conditions and on the date they requested, until this order changes. There is NO cut off date.
  11. When I spoke to the Thai embassy in the Hague a short time ago, they confirmed absolutely and with confidence that the Jan 15 cut off date had been revoked and all approved test and go QR holders can travel on their approved travel dates which includes all dates after Jan 15.
  12. Yes, big thanks to the Thai Embassy in the Hague for being so certain and confident in releasing this information. The Thai Embassy in Vienna just revised their information which effectively also confirms this: https://thaiembassy.at/en/coe.html
  13. Thanks for the heads up. Indeed this is wonderful news. I just phoned the Thai Embassy in the Hague and they confirmed they just received this information and all test and go approved holders can travel as planned on their original approved arrival date! What a relief!
  14. Regarding amending flights within 72 hours, I have heard that this can only be done for flights in advance, not bringing them forward, however putting that to one side, one intepretation of the latest news is that approved test and go QR code holders can now arrive prior to January 15. However in order to do so, the question remains as to whether you need to request an amended thailand pass (a manual process and possibility of slow or no response from TP). Without this you run the risk of the airline not boarding you as your arrival date printed on the test and go is after Jan 15. In addition, I would assume one must also revise your insurance document and hotel reservation - quite a process and again, whether it's possible to do all of that in time is another question.
  15. Trying to get clarify after the latest announcement with last day of entry being January 15. I have an approved pass for January 18 for test and go. If I change my flight, insurance and test and go hotel to a date prior to January 15, is this acceptable for entry? It's still quite unclear and so much confusion out there still.
  16. I am arriving on January 18 and have an existing approved Thailand pass with QR code, approved before the test and go programme was suspended. Today the article published today in the Bangkok Post states: https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2241455 "As for Test & Go travellers whose applications for entry were previously approved, they must now enter Thailand by Jan 10 under revised measures for travel, he said. After the Jan 10 deadline, visitors must only enter under the Phuket Sandbox scheme or be quarantined, he said" Is this January 10 date true ? as there was some commentary before that the January 10 date was incorrectly published by Thai media, rather they previously they said existing Thailand pass holders could enter if already approved. I'm a little concerned as naturally all my arrangements have already been made.
  17. I'm looking at purchasing it for a Thai colleague and obviously, ideally it would be better if there is a Thai version. It's not the end of the world, but naturally would be better. Just trying to find out.
  18. Haven't been able to contact Banana IT. If anyone is going past, would be great if someone could check and see if Thai language surface pro 7 keyboard type cover is available. Many thanks and appreciated. Strange I couldn't find any information online.
  19. Is there such thing as a Surface Pro 7 typecover with Thai keyboard symbols available, or does Microsoft just supply them in English? I'm trying to find out if they are available, can't see anything online about a specific Thai symbol keyboard. Appreciate the help.
  20. I'm returning to the Land of Smiles after 18 months away, and staying at the Park Plaza hotel in Asoke on their test and go Thailand Pass package. The hotel has informed me that insurance from the following companies are NOT accepted by their partner hospital, Piyavate as they do not cover expenses in case of a positive Covid test: TATA AIG Pacific Cross Well be Insurance WrLife I was thinking of buying an Axa policy anyway, as it seems better than TuneProtect, which is most commonly recommended. Any thoughts on the best cover to get? Appreciated.
