  1. Just read the article, and was surprised to read how useless the police were. Not a single arrest.

Also, PC run amok from the politicians.

They made many arrests that night , but out of political correctness they where not allowed to come into the open with it .

At the moment many officers start to talk about what really happened that night because they get fed up with the media telling that they did nothing .

This "rape wave" in europe is everywhere , but out of "political correctness" not comes out in the regular media .

Europe will never be the same , it will escalate .

  2. I'm taking this one with a pinch of salt. I find it hard to believe that ISIS gives half a toss about Thailand.

Hope ur right , but don't forget that they not only target Russians .

Thailand is easy for them to attack multiple nationalities in tourist area's .

    UK , Belgium , France , Netherlands , Australians , German , Denmark .

Many bars and restaurants are owned by people from these country's .

If they do so this will have a major impact all over the world .

Thailand is an easy target and a perfect hide out for ISIS .

  3. "Wanted all Thais to take a step backwards". The whole country has been going backwards since the coup.

Yes the international community understand the juntas cause. Exactly why they are against it continuing!

Strange , the locals where I live are pretty happy with the General in charge , the prices of there agricultural products are stable and pretty good .

    Not hear anybody complaining .

These are people that work in the fields and even the local fishermen with there small boats .

Only complains about the General is what I read on Thaivisa .

And anybody that believes there is real democracy in the perfect west should check twice .

You jest surely, where i am the locals are getting 8 Baht a kilo for top quality jasmine rice, they are resigned, ''It's not worth planting but what else can we do''

Just as a side line, i read today that 60% of British farmers income comes from EU subsidies.

Where I live there is not much rice planted . Mostly sweet potato pineapple aloevera and coconuts , so hard to compare .

8 baht a kilo is 8000 a ton so seems to be like commodity standards .

Problem with the rice is that most farmers sold there ancestral land to the rich and loansharks and have to pay rent .

And they are used to get handouts from the government , here no handouts and they do pretty well , and that is what the general is looking for .

20 years ago when I was in the isaan they told me they got 2 baht a kilo the wages then where about 100 to 150 baht a day .

I wish the best for all farmers

  5. British embassy not helping in this case is discrimination against ur own countrymen . The European governments spend about 36.000 euro's a year per refugee but are not able to help there own people .

Any idea how many people would then make use of the money from the government. Countless because why buy insurance as your government will pick up the bill.

The refugee's are not a good thing at all but two wrongs don't make a right.

Honestly Rob , I have no idea how many people would try to take advantage and not get a travel insurance if travelling abroad .

I think not to many people get into serious medical trouble like this bloke did .

Little bit of namchai on the embassy's side would be the right thing IMHO .

  6. Sounds sensible to me , change to other crops is better for the soil and maybe brings in more money with less work .

Maybe farmers that agree to change crops need to get some education on the crops they can grow .

Less work? Is growing rice labor intensive? From what I see around our village it is NOT.

Also I don't think the average Thai listens to anything. S/He follows the rule "they are FREE" to do anything they desire....no need to follow any law/dictate.

Where did I write that growing rice labor is intensive ? I wrote that there are "maybe" crops with less work .

The characters of Thai people are not the same all over the country , depends of what province you live .

  7. I am only 48 , I know about the sleepless nights the 24/7 pain . Only thing that keeps me going is the love for my wife , kids and a couple of real mates .

Painkillers take the edge of and is still better then the final solution .

I still do the work that wrecked my body and still do it with joy , but it gets harder and harder every year .

Maybe u should try to visit a painclinic , my brother gets botox shots sometimes to put some nerves offline for a while .

anyway hope u health will improve .

  8. At the school my 10 y/o daughter attends they start at 8:30 and ends 15:30 . When she gets home she often has 2 hours of homework .

I think the kids are right .

Depends if they want to be as well educated as other countries. Want to be a dummy, fine dont bother studying.

studying isn't about only time spend on study , it's the quality of the teachers , Thai kids spend the most time in school in asean , but still score very low in this region .

sending them home with a lot of homework is a sign the teachers are not qualyfied .
