So there is some justice in Thailand !
Seems like no one bothered to investigate or go after who shot Chalermchai. And I don't think that's a bad thing. I think most heaved a sigh of relief (and maybe even said a silent 'thank you' to the shooter/shooters) that the scum is dead, after what he has done. Street justice.

Shoot-to-kill order + bumbling RTP = people should just stay indoors after dark.
A bunch of bumbling clowns bouncing around, (and as the saying goes) locked, cocked and ready to rock. Not a comforting thought.
As some posters here have mentioned, I do hope he can be put down (or whatever they want to do with this pond scum) AFTER he has gone through proper interrogation. There is more to this case and I think it shouldn't be closed with a simple kill-shot. That is assuming the clowns shoot the right person, to start with.

NO!!! No, no, no. You guys got it all wrong. The new, shining light government will NEVER EVER let this happen. There is no corruption, no illegal activities. This is false news.

Rigged election. Hand-picked senators. Oh, we trust you completely. We trust you to continue lying like the liar that you are.
9 hours ago, webfact said:would not mind if he is reprimanded, adding that he was ready to explain or go to court if accused of corruption
You say this because you KNOW you will NEVER be anywhere near the court. And anyone doing the reprimanding will be doing so from your famous attitude-adjustment camps. Or the 'democratic' versions of the camp.

Yeah right.
The station is empty at nights.
How long to respond, by the time they arrive (hours later) these people are long gone.
I can't say the same about other criminal, unlawful or illegal activities but, when it comes to these kinds of 'activities', the whole contingent - not just the station personnel - will arrive at the scene - camera phones locked and cocked - BEFORE you even end the call.
Of course, it is all for administrators' private viewing, especially when there are no FB updates to check and the 'mia nois' are not responding to Line messages.

Young people are just not equipped with the necessary skills to drive.
Many grown-ups are also not capable of driving.
As for murdering own kid/s, that's the parents' prerogative. It's innocent people getting hurt (or killed) by these gits (parents and/or kid 'drivers') that is unnecessary.

A week of overtime plus a free-for-all, collect-all-the-tea-money-you-can opportunity. That's all they're getting as far as an annual bonus is concerned.

Not funny. That was an expensive laptop on which I spewed my morning coffee.
On a separate note, instead of vowing, begging, instructing, ordering etc., why can't you - the most powerful man in the world - just get your bumbling brown gits to do their jobs and enforce the law, without fear or favour, if that isn't asking for too much?

"Pol Col Ekkarat said that the dummies (the cars) were used by police forces all round the world."
That's true.
But in Thailand, they ALSO use dummies for the police force.

'the highest number in many years...'
The powers-that-be in the tourism industry are some of the most delusional gits in Thai officialdom.

Wrong headline. It should be: "Thailand Wants More Fresh Meat at the Chopping Board".

I believe this 'NNT' is a government mouthpiece, yes? If so, they have just done their boss a grave injustice. If the PM attended the 'Outstanding Technologist Awards and Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Forum 2019', his takeaway should be something related and relevant and his quotes should reflect that! Make him say something about technology, science and/or innovation. Not publish news quoting him promoting Thai massage! Isn't there even ONE muppet in that stupid bureau who understands 'messaging' and 'positioning'? You clowns just made your boss look lame, and that's putting it mildly.

There is desperation, and then there is the TAT! Everything is to blame, but themselves. Geez. What's next - everyone wears a super-powerful amulet to ward off negative energy and voila! a pile of money and a stack of gold will appear by the wearers' bedsides the next morning? And you lot complain about the cynicism and wonder why people don't take you seriously.
Actually, why the panic? Didn't the tourism boss already say tourism will pick up by seven percent during the new year period and that the Chinese are on their way back and in fact, their arrivals will double in a decade, or some <deleted> like that?
What a bunch of class-act muppets.

Yes, but at the end of the day, I guess the authorities love money more... LOL

His recommendations are not to speed, not to drive in the wrong direction, not to violate traffic light control, use a safety belt, carry a driver’s license, don’t pass other vehicles in unlikely spots, don’t get drunk driving, wear a motorcycle crash helmet, drive a motorcycle in a safe manner and don’t use a mobile phone while driving.
So it's ok to do all these at other times of the year. Business as usual then.

Who wouldn't, with all the scams, overpricing and lawlessness going on? Then again, fret not. Your tourism boss Khun Yuthasak expects a seven percent rise in foreign visitors during the five day New Year period. Plus, the Chinese are coming back, and will double over the next decade.
So sit tight, hang in there, do nothing and wait for the money to roll right in.
Like you've always done.

Khun Yuthasak Suphasorn started his xmas and new year celebrations early and, by the looks of it, have been drinking and smoking some pretty strong stuffs!

Colin talk about “swoop” in another article before, not this one.
I not remember the thread name to find.
But this one the thai headline say “Nakon Si Thammarat immigration catches old German for 218 overstay”
the TVF one say “Keep calling Big Oud's hotline: German arrested on 218 day overstay”
More action!
But this translation of the story is fair one IMO.
Good boy Rooster.
Yes, Colin was referring to how the word 'swoop' is not used in this article, which has been replaced by 'visit'. Don't worry about finding the previous threads. There were a few articles with the 'swoop' word in the headline or body copy. It's moot now.
Thank you for your verification. As for the translation especially of the headline, and writing as someone with a media and communications background, I'd stick to the original context as much as possible when translating. But that's just me. As far as TVF is concerned, I'll leave it to the admins, editors and translators.

More knee-jerk malarkey from the clowns. Sure, Chinese New Year is a long holiday for the Chinese and sure, they will travel. But, I can't imagine them making travel plans only now, or changing their plans because they can now get multiple-entry visas to Thailand?
When will these gits learn words like 'sustainability', 'viability' and 'continuity'? Or are there no Thai equivalents for these words?
