Don't worry, dear Esteemed Leader. They are NOT misled by one-sided information. That's why they are holding these rallies.

The advice from the Thai health ministry is think twice or even, don't go.
Meanwhile, and despite China closing its own borders, you guys continue to roll out the red carpet to welcome your comrades.
Oh but this won't affect Thais, or anyone in Thailand for that matter, because you guys are in control, right?
You all really, really think the whole thing is a circus, don't you?

Soon, the smart-BMW will be upon Covid-19 for overstaying, and the poor virus will be fined and jailed for tarnishing the good image and reputation of the Land of Smirks.
Meanwhile, on to other news - immigration and customs officers and other front-liners in the travel and hospitality industry are being taught how to say "Welcome comrades", in Mandarin.

A feckless idiot, no doubt. But more importantly, it beggars the question, does Thailand really have 'only' 40 cases? I hate to jump on the 'everything-reported-in-Thailand-is-fake' bandwagon but, in this case, I'm suspecting the count is actually higher than 40. Take this latest idiot's case for example - he would've spread the virus to countless of people before he got caught. His family. Friends. Passers by. And those who don't know they got it from him continue with their daily lives. And so on and so forth. And we only have 40 cases?
Or maybe the 40 are the ones who actually went to the hospitals, while the larger majority are sitting at home waiting to be cured by large amulets?

massively overpriced old tech american cars - amazes me that people buy these types of cars - and they do in Aust too.
Apart from the brand, the name is actually French (as @klauskunkel pointed out) and, for the record, the 'all-new' Captiva is actually a re-badged Chinese compact crossover. Not that American, I'm sure you'd agree haha...

Owning a gun just got more expensive now, I presume. I mean, a general can't be cheaper than a colonel, right?

So according to the army chief, soldiers could buy guns using the army welfare program, and then make money selling them to private individuals for profit.
Crazy bloody crazy, a practice that needs stopped now.
It beggars bloody belief that this 'practice' was allowed to happen in the first place! They really did not think this through properly, did they?

At the risk of going OT here Colin, it's not the only thing that's 'Crazy bloody crazy'.
Stopping cruise ships and foreigners coming into Thailand for fear of Coronavirus, but allowing citizens of the country where it's now an epidemic to enter Thailand freely. It just shows how scared of the Chinese the government and those them above are.
Living in the shadow of their Chinese paymasters for sure, and also a bit of Thai-logic, if I may hazard a guess? It's the same as raising prices of goods and services when demand is low and business is slow ????

Be disenchanted all they want. Six or sixty million, the junta is not going to give a damn.

And right on cue, the 'farang don't know Thai' script is rolled out. Yes, each country has its own history, culture and tradition. It's just that in Thailand, 'democracy' is not a part of the history, culture and tradition.
I am curious, what would have been Thailand's reaction if their Chinese paymasters echoed US' sentiments regarding the dissolution of the FFP.

Scary thought, innit? Think of what's festering in that prison, amongst the inmates. And the prison guards, workers etc. Then these guards and workers go back to their families, friends and loved ones after their shifts. Then the families, friends and loved ones continue to interact with other human beings. So on and so forth *shudders*

Thailand has not imposed any bans on tourists or travelers to the country since the outbreak of the virus, though it is screening passengers on flights from China on arrival and requires a health certificate to enter the country from China.
However, the government has barred passengers from Holland America's cruise ship MS Westerdam from disembarking, the health minister said on Tuesday.
Welcome to Thailand!

Yes, the surviving victims and families of the deceased should definitely get some form of help and assistance. Soon.
As for the Esteemed Leader, why so serious dear Brilliant Comrade? Just do your nonchalant and dismissive 'little heart' wave and everything will go away. And leave the real work to those who can actually do it.

He hinted that the government had plans for the baht and stimulus measures to lure foreign tourists. He promised a "new group" of tourists, more domestic tourism and sustainable tourism.
Knowing the competence of most members of this cabinet, I'd wager Khun Pipat had no idea in hell what he was on about. He was probably just reciting from a script presented to him minutes before he went public. Plans and promises - we have all heard that before

Didn't your boss say that Thai borders remain open to the Chinese? What you should have done, ai Anutin, is to allow the Chinese on board the ship to disembark, leave all the farangs on board, and then send the ship away. That would have made you feel good, won't it? And, your Chinese bosses would be pleased!

I'm sure you are, dear Esteemed Leader. Just dismissively flash a 'mini heart' sign like you did and everything will be okay, right? Anyway, it's not the Chinese but the farangs who are spreading the virus, according to ai Anutin. Carry on then. Your fixation on your Chinese paymasters to the exclusion of other markets, your desperation and your greed, are repulsive. Serves you all right that other tourists are giving the Land of Smirks a wide berth, and then some.

lost control of his vehicle at a bend
Unless it was a Toyota Alphard/Veilfire or Estima, conventional Toyota vans used to transport passengers do not come with a lot of driver aids, if any. To be safe, van drivers should invest in at least a traction-control system. In Thailand, that is known as an 'amulet'. The bigger, the better.
Snide remarks aside, RIP to the young lady. Another unnecessary death on Thai roads.

Running out of scam ideas, tourists wising up, running out of tourists to cheat - so let's resort to daylight extortion.
As for 'minimising disruption of the national tourism scene', I don't think there is much of a scene left, so fire away.
