And that's only what he has declared.
Why haven't CP company gone out nationwide in trucks handing out free 'food'?
I know it's mechanically separated regurgitated slop but it beats starvation
I haven't seen one of the uber rich help out yet, and you would know because they would make sure every man and his dog knew about it
I think their excuse would be "We are just following the rule of law and observing the curfew by staying home, and social distancing ourselves from everyone to help stop the spread." Yup, that is how much they 'love' Thailand and their 'countrymen'.

I hope the officers reported the Malaysian trucker to their own as well as the Malaysian authorities - the truck's registration number, passport details and all. The recalcitrant baboon should be tested before he infects others, if indeed he is CVD19-positive, and the officers did not get it from other truckers or elsewhere.

He said relevant agencies will contact both local and international institutions to sign a memorandum of understanding...
But that would mean working with foreigners. Farangs even! Are you sure about this?
As for "... and hopefully Thailand can be a leader in the vaccine development" maybe you can be Test Subject 00. Ahead of the lab rats, monkeys and other animals they will eventually use.

That's good. The ones dishing out aid can continue to do so (by the way, good people, you lot!), the migrant workers can be more disciplined, restrained and observe social distancing, the authorities can help manage the queue and Thais can stop being upset by it. Everyone happy. Let's move it on then.

While you're at it TAT, also consider printing a list of SHA-certified establishments and services. The list can be as long and exhaustive as it needs to be. Tourists need to be informed and a comprehensive list will help enhance their confidence. Don't worry, the tourists - most of whom can't wait for your borders to reopen, to begin with - will have A LOT OF TIME to read your info as they start their vacation with 14-day quarantine upon landing in Thailand.

Shocking how a simple problem was unable to be solved. There were masses of people there for a very good reason, being that there are a hell of a lot of hungry people out there. Half a brain would have seen the authorities take control of the situation and organise the queue to meet their rules. Instead, they send hundreds home with an empty belly.... Disgraceful.
"Half a brain would have seen... " See, the problem is, they don't know how to use it. That is, if they even have half of it, for a start!

You've just said it mutates and that you have no relevant background to comment with conviction. Are you saying the virus mutates without conviction or that it mutates without conviction?
Yes, a little confusing. Edited my original comment. Thank you.

This virus is still relatively unknown and worse, mutates just as scientists think they have it figured out, based on what I've been reading here and there. I am no scientist and do not have relevant background to comment with any conviction, but I have a gut feel this pandemic, or at least the virus, is going to be with us for a while yet. I think anyone rushing to go back to 'a normal life' is in for a surprise when this nasty thing waits to strike again. I think we're at the beginning of a paradigm shift in social norms, and some of what we're going through now is going to be the new 'normal' - social distancing and all.

Best keep quiet about it mate, if it was forwarded to Anutin, he would advice Thais not to eat the food given so kindly by dirty farangs.????
The idiot will probably confiscate all the essentials on grounds they are 'infected', turn them around and then hand them out to the poor as if the items were his own. That's the exact kind of things lizards like him will do.

But problem with Singapore is that you have to live in those crowded small government flats (with nasty neighbours) and Singaporeans are known for being demanding and strict. Not a good place for retirement.
So true. It can be quite a challenge to some, to put up with the nuances of Singaporean culture. Some can hack it, some can't. On the upside, everything works - public transport and all, it's a relatively safe city and dollar-for-dollar, beer is cheap! It is a good place to be in if one has a good job in one of the many regional offices that have set up shop in SGP but like you said, it is not really a place in which to retire.

Ah, the xenophobic lizard has crawled out of his hole, I see. Khun Boonkua Pussatevo is really in the wrong. He should've said “stupid
citizensfarangs will lead us to death”. Then Anus-tin would have given a standing ovation instead. By the way, and since Thais are not stupid (and I agree with that), where does that leave Anutin? -

God knows why.
The UN should at the very least call them out on their actions.
Wont hold me breath though like.
Not sure anything is going to change even if the UN call them out. They'll just issue some half-ar$ed statement in English to appease UN and other concerned members. Meanwhile, the xenophobic rant will continue in their own language, because they think 'stupid falang no understand Thai'. It is what it is. I guess we'll just have to suck it in and try to mix with people who are more open-minded and matured, regardless of nationality, and avoid these narrow-minded prehistoric buffoons as much as we can, if we do not want to take leave of our senses while living here. Stay safe.

"Chinese buddies"? The Chinese are foreigners, too.
Some foreigners are just more 'foreign' than others, if you know what I mean, and if you go by how 'they' differentiate people based on 'colour' or how they look. Just saying.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, Pattaya mayor Sonthaya Khunpluem reiterated that most people infected with COVID-19 in Pattaya are either foreign nationals or Thais who came into close proximity with foreigners due to their work.
There we go again. Meanwhile, Thais are so inherently superior they are not susceptible to local infection, neither can they pass on any infection to another human. The word 'infallible' comes to mind. It is always the pesky, dirty foreigners who bring untold misery to the Land of Smirks.

Wow, that is really, really stupid. And an equally stupid notion, to think that people are straining against their leashes, waiting to jump on the first flight to Thailand as soon stay-home orders are lifted around the world. The days of Thailand being on most people's bucket lists, are gone. With or without the <deleted>tarded 14-day quarantine. Now put your skirt back on.
Speaking of stay-home orders, your neighbour Malaysia, which have been praised by the international community for having one of the better responses and control, are still nowhere near lifting anything. They have been under the order for one month since 18 March, and have just extended it for another two weeks until end April. And it seems they may extend for another two weeks into the middle of May. So, don't get overly excited because of lower case counts for a day or two. Again, keep your skirt on. I think we're not out of the woods yet.

There will be no normal, not for years.
In fact, I think there will be a new normal and we are at the cusp of that paradigm shift. People will realise they can survive and live with less. Companies will realise they can run with a smaller office, or for some, none at all! People will be more mindful about distancing and hygiene, particularly how easy sickness and diseases spread, not just CVD19. Thais and Indians have this covered with their 'wais', without shaking hands. (Note to snowflakes: That was an honest observation and not a poke at Thai or Indian culture).
The world is healing itself. Somewhat. A friend from India told me he hasn't seen stars in the sky for a long, long time. A Malaysian friend told me there is a certain crispness in the air in the morning. And he lives in the city of Kuala Lumpur. Of course, good always comes with the bad. And vice versa. But I am sure things will have a way of sorting itself out if given the chance to run its course.
Finally, perhaps 'sustainability' can become a reality and not just a popular catchword brandished by executive speech writers to make corporations sound like they are 'responsible corporate citizens'. One hopes this happens, instead of reverting back to the 'old normal' after the emergency is lifted (what I personally call 'jailbreak phenomenon'), with nary a thought to the lesson this episode has taught us. One hopes.

They should be encouraged to go. Get them all together, lock the place down and throw away the key. Let them rot and fester, if they like it so much. The world can do with less stupid anyway.

Five Asean countries named as high-risk for Covid-19 infection
in Thailand News
Posted
Malaysia's daily new cases have dropped since the middle of April, from three to two digits. Active cases also dropping, if what a mate shared is correct. And the Malaysian lockdown may well be extended, despite this. The way they handled the crisis, headed by their Director-General of public health (or something like that), have been recognised one of the best by the international community. Meanwhile, Singapore is registering four-figure increases after they 'flattened the curve'. Try to keep up, Anutin and gang, and actually do something proactive. For once.
