    Bears repeating.

Can you believe they had this brilliant idea that they would have live bands you could watch from your balcony?  I mean really, that awful music playing boom boom boom in your room while you're trapped?

The most idiotic idea I have ever heard of in my life.

And it all went downhill from there.

The scene in titanic where the band carries on playing comes to mind ! ????

    Hey Guys (and Gals),

I live in Bangkok, lower Sukhumvit. My (thai)GF and I were thinking to escape the madness and "work from home" from the beach in Samui for 10 days. Planning to travel down next week on 21st January, via Bangkok Airways.

Does anyone know the latest on whether we need to "Quarantine" and just exactly what "Quarantine" means? My plans will be (a) relaxing at the hotel, (b) having a few beers at any place that is open, and (c) going for some nice dinners at any place that is open (The Cliff, Coco's, Prego, etc.).

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

If you haven’t found a place to stay yet then look up Hansar hotel page on Facebook. They were practically giving away rooms a few weeks ago starting at 1200bht a night I think it was . Great hotel in great location and they have reduced prices for food and drinks a bit I think .

Very true. Over the period from around 2016 to early 2020, every time I flew to Thailand the plane was close to full. But when I was collecting my bag from the carousel there were rarely more than about 50 people doing so. And many of those looked like Thais and therefore not tourists.

They count transit passengers in the numbers , it’s why they spout of the high numbers .

  4. Why don’t they just approve better visas for longer stays that you can buy for 6-12 months or more and included in that and every other type of visa is a charge of 500-1000bht that gives everyone who has bought a visa a decent coverage for medical expenses. Over the years this fund would only increase and its a win win for everyone from tourists , hospitals , immigration and government.
It’s not rocket science but yet they seem to avoid doing the best and most obvious things on purpose to make out they are smart

not sure because it came with the pool, but i don't think the systems are too expensive,. maybe google can help. If I recall, a new Chlorinator is around 30,000, and a UV system is comparably priced, but I'm just guessing.

Thanks . Will look into it and will try find a pool company who knows what they are and are recommended where I stay . ????????
