There was a possibility that I would have to go to Dubai on business in February, and although it's been agreed I can operate from Thailand instead I checked airfares. One-way to has a lowest fare of under 9000 baht, with business class under 20,000. Return is a little higher. So half what they would normally cost, except for business which is even less.

Flights I looked at in January from uk to Bkk one way were £720 with eva non stop or via Dubai with 3 hr stop £620 ! I paid £540 one way out of Bkk to uk with eva in June .

The problem for me is that I was not told when the results would be issued. Just a big window. Hope its gotten better.

Yeah I have read of some people here waiting at the airport for their test to return just hours before flights. Seems to be the quicker and more guaranteed you want it the more the companies are charging. I found one in uk that was £150 for the test with 48 hrs maximum before they email your test results. Some countries are only charging equivalent of £30-60 for the same test .

  3. Made me laugh the last two flights I was on in Thailand and international out to uk. All the sanitizer , masks etc . Seat spacing in departure area with every second seat crossed out . Yet in these seats you had people sitting back to back and then when I got on the plane every seat was taken ???? . Pointless exercise for show !

I have bought the Makro brand cheddar ( Aro ) before and find it pretty good, last time I bought Pauli brand, big mistake, tasteless !!

The Branston tip is good, gonna check that out right now.

Can usually get branston pickle in makro also , although not always in small jars size . Although maybe cheaper on lazada. One thing I did find on lazada far cheaper was lemon curd ????. Tesco wanted 240 bht for a jar and I think was 120bht on lazada.

  5. Having been in uk since June after 13 years in Thailand I realise there is very little here I miss and when I return to Thailand I won’t be returning again to uk unless for a family funeral . Access to all of amazon here helps for buying things , cost for simple things like deodorant/ shower gels/ shaving foam etc is far cheaper for decent stuff , aftershave and perfume is a million times cheaper for originals not copy , decent clothes that fit as most places in Bkk malls the designer shops only have Thai size . But I don’t miss the food here , cheese is far cheaper though  , lucozade is available everywhere and seeing the variation of decent and nice looking cars that cost peanuts here does make me miss driving a decent car .

  6. All the people go to coco tams as it’s the place to get your Instagram photo for those who want to be noticed on their social media in Bangkok. Long weekends it’s full as they all come in from Bkk . Plus the owners son has a lot of friends he knows from Bangkok as does the family and they are well known in Bangkok circles and most well to do people from Bkk would come to say hi as a point . These people don’t go to the average bar or restaurant on a street . So Sofitel in Bangkok is full also at weekends of similar groups when they have a pool party and rest of week it’s quiet.
