  1. Just one remark, i already condemned these actions.

If you read correctly it stopped the moment Suthep hear about it (allegedly) So that points to him not condoning it either. So how that would point that this would happen a lot if he gets in power is beyond me.

That's exactly what Hitler said before he murdered Rohm (special security).

And then he went on to create...?

You should study a bit more modern history my friend.

And this thread's prize for the first inane mention of Hitler goes to...................

Nah, the first mention of Thaksin appeared long before. The winner is...! cheesy.gif

  2. Joke? It was televised, the reds accepting the offer, mobile phone rings, no deal.

Wait: we all remember the roadmap right? And when elections were offered?

If we want to speak the truth, we should tell the whole story...

Tell "Red shirts refused Abhisit election proposal" is a pure lie.

And we remember it being accepted as a fair deal, until...........it didn't suit somebody's plan for violent confrontation.

I think you remember not well.

They accepted but reserved their final decision until Abhisit will clear the roadmap.

It's the same idiot game that is being played now.

Abhisit in any case NEVER offere unconditional elections. He put them in a package, different to tell he offered elections to Red Shirts.

Anyway, to close the discussion. The point is: Thailand is under game of power since 2006... Whatever will be the outcome, if either Shin clan, or Suthep clan will get the power again, the tragic game will go on. No way out.

  3. This topic is full of completely wrong affirmations: first someone who tell 90 people killed shot at head all by army after being ordered that by Abhisit in person.

Then this joke about Abhisit offered elections to Red Shirts.

Both facts are pure inventions... Guys get some info before post.

  4. It will only go wrong when the government decides it wants it to go wrong and sends in the storm troopers...

Just wait for Suthep's guards trying to replace Police. That would be nasty...

Why would he do that? Have I missed him saying such?

Yep, it seems you missed a part of the show:

  5. I think his government's only fault in the sad events of 2010 was in not taking firm control of the situation early. They let people camp out in the streets of the capital for weeks, until things came to a boil.

They will never get a "murder" charge to stick. It's bogus, politically motivated, and just adds to the general chaos and misery we're seeing every day here. It should be thrown out of court.

mate, it is a bit hard when the police simply ignored the reds as instructed to by thaksin. With the police backing the reds and thaksins agenda it is the reason all the shit happened. No one can deny this, they were offered an election but then went on to start the violence that in turn created the shootings. People want to lay blame, look at thaksin, the police and the red leaders, pity the reds/police are too indoctrined to thaksins ideology for the truth to come out.

    Quite simply No. they weren't.

Even though the shenanigans that allowed individual MPs elected under the TRT banner to switch sides after getting red votes should have triggered immediate re-elections they weren't.

Quite simply during Thaksins 2010 attack on Bangkok yes they were offered early elections by PM Abhisit which they declined.

  6. Oops... So the rumor that vocational school gangs were involved wasn't bs... Interesting!

RIP to the boy dead, and right punishment for the thieves, arsonists.

Indeed, they were Beijing used as 'security', according to several reports ( wearing black)

Right, I heard those reports and sure it was likely to be true. Now have another confirmation...

Securities for Thaksin Red Shirts? I guess so. Bad bad Thaksin.

laugh.png ...and every now and then I still find someone who calls me Red Shirt or Thaksinist...

  7. I don't care much for Abhisit or what he represents, but he deserves credit for walking into the courtroom and standing up against whatever comes. Unlike his "indicted co-conspirator", the would-be dictator Suthep.

The case will go nowhere, and will ultimately be dismissed. It's a loser for PTP to pursue this.

    Well said and agree 100%

Abhisit showed dignity and respect toward the court.

I am pretty sure he cannot be convicted for murder.

And Suthep, yes... He is showing he is nothing different than Thaksin. Both greedy, needing power in their hands for their families and interests.

    My opinion, as usual.

  8. Thanks a lot SABloke.

Finally a neutral estimation! Impossible to find in Thailand...

Both estimation given by 2 parts were ridiculous (Millions by the Suthep claque) - 100,000 by the Shin clan.

If only Thais could search for balanced news, maybe this country would be a better one!

Aahh - balanced news in Thailand - seems too good to be true :-)

I should add though (I don't like to provide false information): The calculations were based on aerial photographs and NOT satelite imagery (bit of 'lost in translation' on my part) EDIT function not working - so I'm just adding the info in this reply.

Thanks for your add, and I would say it seems a quite accurate estimation.

Talking about balanced news in Thailand, not only too good to be true, but utopia lol. ;)

  9. Not the right thread, but interesting. Mods please move to right thread :-) People count calculated from satelite imagery. Not quite a million but definitely more than 100 000 as claimed by RTP.

The 519 070 is the count of people on the photos. The 207 628 is based on a 40% of total calculation for people coming and going throughout the day.

NB: Please note that this is not an official release and is not endorsed by the company that prepared this information (They have not been contracted/requested to do this - it is just a private observation using traditional people-count calculations - not 100% accurate). You may link/use this photo if you please, but PLEASE add a similair disclaimer to the one I have - I don't want to be sued facepalm.gif

  10. How satisfying to see her beg for justice. In light of her government's systematic destruction of justice and fair play. How quickly the game can change hey madam PM?

    Classic!

I think she has handled this incredibly well and minimal loss of life which is more than can be said for Abhisit when he was faced with the same situation anyway this lady has handled it with class, intelligence and with obvious concern for thai people.

It could of been a lot worse has she put up more of a fight and the red shirt disbanded their demonstration I KNOW WHO THE SMART ONES were in this debatical.

But I dont see an end to this if Suthep gets his way we will see the Reds come out in force and we know how he and Abhisit handles protesters. dont we.

It was certainly NOT the same situation. But since you have the red mist in your eyes you can't see the difference....

Tired of this nonsense: an user expressing an opinion different from yours doesn't deserve to get offended.

    My opinion...

  11. I see nothing remotely like being a dictator, he really has no option since PTP are still refusing to step down, it is called escalation which is a natural progression when the lesser fails to have effect - lets see if PTP stay or try to take flight, unless this is a bluff it would seem they will not be allowed to leave the country

As I said unless this is a bluff it's not hard to see where this is going

There is a need for change without a doubt - until the changes are made I see no point in holding elections - history doesn't lie

There's not much to say or think really. Just read his words and the way he address the country.

If ti's not a dictatorial speech, what is it? Desperation? End of options?

If so: just give himself in and someone else can continue the protests with another tone. As he promised just 472 times in the last 3 weeks.

I think he's making it more than clear for PTP and what options they have left - not sure there is another way for him to address the matter - he asked them to step down very nicely and after refusal after refusal he's now telling them to step down or else, seems like a natural progression of pressure - PTP are clinging on for what, because in my opinion if they step down completely their next step will be to jail or the airport taking the billions of baht they have stolen from the Thai people with them

    just my opinion of course

I respect your opinion, of course, but in my view demanding to Police and Army, as he's the Prime Minister, is not a good way to solve the problem.

No, this guy will bring even more problem to this Kingdom, already rolling down the hill.

  13. and how exactly do you think that could be achieved

PTP tried to thwart the constitution and the laws for the good of a few people, when they were blocked by the CC they then stated they did not recognise the Courts ruling, for that alone they should have been disbanded without the need for the people to demonstrate - lets not lose sight of why these anti government demonstrations began in the first place - PTP went one step beyond - and they are still the sitting government

This movement right now is taking place for the good of all Thai people - the constitution needs to be put on hold while it is strengthened to stop this crap happening again- that is one thing I am absolutely sure about - the lesson PTP has taught everyone is that change is needed - they very effectively exposed the weaknesses in the political system while they tried to exploit them or when they were stopped in their tracks attempted to overthrow the authority of the courts, they are the makers of their own demise and the sooner the better for all the Thai people

If Suthep doesn't come up with the goods then he will be turfed out also

It needs to happen - coup after coup - dissolution after dissolution - it needs fixed once and for all

No, I am sure if Suthep gets the power, him and who's with him will not leave it easily as the clan Shin is doing.

P.s.: he's going against constitution repeatedly and in last 2 days is going also again King's will. I heard people being accused of treason and Lese Majesty for far much less...

Solve a problem with another problem is never such a good idea.

  14. Bare in mind that the writer is on the reds side so everything he writes is extremely biased. I have seen accounts from students that say quite the opposite. I am inclined to believe the studenbs more than this douche. Besides, he is 'falang' so 'nobody cares what we think and we have no right to express any opinion' according to a lot of the idiot red shirt followers here....

I must agree he's totally biased, just to be clear.

But gosh, he's not a writer!

But as I wrote in many other topics yesterday, can't believe anyone in this country. Both sides are biased and totally "anti". Don't expect truth or balanced report by either of them.

  15. Yingluck must be shitting bricks, she will face exactly the same premeditated murder charges in a personal capacity for her authorizing and ordering snipers to execute innocent students hiding at Ram Uni last week. Talk about digging a deeper hole for herself.

    Snipers? Where were the snipers?

Coroners reported all people dead was shoot at short distance and same level, not a sniper job.

yeah, because there was a rumble. they dead guy was shot in a short distance

So I wonder where the snipers came from? Which damage they made?

  17. "We have to learn to co-exist with others. And this cannot be done peacefully if you think that your views are the only ones that count."

Please forward your rant to the Northeast and their elected MPs.

Cheers, from a well heeled Drunk...

The real shame is both sides are so narrow minded and so full of themselves that cannot see further than their nose.

    It's a never ending story...
