  1. "We will return the power to the people"

What about the majority of voters, who put the present government in power??whistling.gif

Oh silly me, I forgot, they are considered to stupid and poor to vote!

Take a look at the picture in the OP, reminds me of the good old days in the 1930's Europe!!bah.gif

To the posters here still supporting this madman, you need to have your IQ checked!!

Try having your own IQ checked if you think Yingluck is the better option.

There is no good side here for the Thai people to vote for only the least bad side.

Vote? Suthep is not talking about voting...

  2. Something I wonder about as the country slowly descends into mob rule, will farangs become targets for their rage? I keep hearing that many Thais hate us and only put up with us because we spend money. I don't know how true this is or even what percentage hate us if it is true but something to think about perhaps.

I walked among the crowd at Metropolitan police headquarters a few weeks ago, I could hear people say "farang this & farang that..."

It might have been พลัง pa lang - energy, power, strength - a staple phrase in rousing political speeches . .

(btw, I posted this yesterday and it got deleted - What? Too inflammatory?

There's a rule on the forum where all problems inherent moderation are prohibited on the forum, you should have asked with a pm to any moderator the reason of post deleting.

  3. Someone here is asking to wait for an investigation to explain what happened to the poor policeman.

I am sure that many of them who states that now, will blame on corrupt police if investigation will find out the shooter was a protester.

I suggest all extremists to not take sides in face of people dead. But as 2010 taught us, everyone is good to fill his mouth and his speeches with the blood of kill people. Killed, then used by both sides for elevate their causes. With no respect for death.

  4. yes the road to ample wealth is full of rocks and holes.

I agree, looking at our highway construction, in Chiang Dao. One year, they finish it, two years later, they tear it up again, because it is full of holes. Why, because Little Ms Noluck and her cronies are corrupt and pocket most of the money, allotted to building and maintaining highways and infrastructure. So yes, her road if full of rocks and holes, but the only one, she can blame for that, is herself, her brother Thaksin and the rest of the corrupt network of Thaksin loving contractors, cops and politicians. .

    Ayone seen this article

    Wall Street Journal

    Thailand's Disloyal Opposition
The Democrats pursue power by making the country ungovernable.
Is Thailand heading for civil war?
The question may seem overly dramatic, but the decision of the opposition Democrat Party to boycott the Feb. 2 general election makes resolution of the struggle between the royalist Democrats and supporters of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra nearly impossible. Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban vowed Sunday to hound Ms. Yingluck until she dies or steps down, and he ordered his supporters to block registration of candidates.
Faced with almost certain defeat at the polls, the Democrats have decided to pursue power by making the country ungovernable. Such behavior is the definition of a disloyal opposition, and the protesters use the word "insurrection" to define their movement. While they pay lip service to reforming the democratic system, at other times they demand that the monarchy install a new leader and that democracy give way to rule by the elite.
    Spot on

Surely this opinion is well shared here on TV, but sure will have someone tell that WSJ is biased, or don't know what happens here...

I sure can say: Democrats had the chance to do reforms, but they did not do anything. Why wake up now?

This country is now in chaos and ungovernable by anyone... What's next?

  5. I'm tending to think that who support the people blocking the election operations are nothing more or less than anarchic... and anarchy (well driven from influential elite) now is where this country is pointing too.

Too dangerous. I have the scary feeling that a big bomb will detonate sooner or later (figurative)...

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

  6. a mob of ultra royalists trying to revert back to feudalism, against 27 parties and the great majority of population. What demons rule them? How brainwashed can they be?

do have political views, even fascist one, but don't try to force them on others

Just as well it wasn't the reds otherwise the police would be facing grenades - launchers - assault rifles - snipers - petrol bombs and anything else you want to throw into the mix

How do you think that would end up ??????????

Go give yourself a history lesson of 2010 red riots and come back here and see how well you post above fits the occasion

Lets just hope the current protestors don't escalate and the shin government step down like they should

For your information: government has already been dissolved and elections called. And for Thai Constitution, Yingluck Government is the legit caretaker.

But I understand that Suthep and Democrats that now walk hand in hand already decided to take again the power with any other way that is not an election.

How nice, both side are corrupt, puppeted and greedy only of power. Sad situation indeed.

Actually, Thaksin is the prime minister. Yingluck just poses for pictures; when she actually shows up. Old trick to to make people believe 1. their vote counts 2. convince people the puppet not the handler has the power.

Was easier in the past to fool the uneducated; now they have wi fi and see how they're getting shafted.

Remember when people got ahold of Mussolini & his family?

I know perfectly what people like Thaksin and Suthep did and are trying to do with this country.

And there's not a magical potion to solve all problems with a move only.

Then: reforms has to be done. But not by a few not well identified throwing gasoline on the general hatred nationwide.

A common reform panel would have be a good start. But not in Suthep's plans...

  8. What? Thaksin is not shooting at anyone. He is not involved in the police response.

The methods used to protect those seeking to register for the vote are non lethal and acceptable in a civilized society. It is certainly a much more restrained response than the live fire killings at Tham U by the army. Would you prefer that the police step aside and allow a mob of bloodthirsty savages attack and beat up non violent people seeking to exercise their legal rights?

And again, most of the protestors are not students. Go and see for yourself.

But he does give the orders and he does own the police as well as the rest of the government.

You must really be obsessed by Thaksin, aren't you?

Who only speak against and not propose anything really concrete for the future of this country, doesn't add any brick to the building of Thailand stability. Yes Thaksin and clan out of the politics. At least we agree with that. But with legal and democratic means!

And please don't even come out with Suthep name, he is unacceptable for infinite reasons. Just give a look at last month Thaivisa daily news topics, you will have dozens.

  9. jaidam post # 12.

What are you laughing about? The government is composed of people that sponsored and incited violence and arson back in the red riots. The burning of Bangkok has been officially deemed an act of terrorism. It even contains one very unsavory character that is inextricably linked to the string of Bangkok bombings with a very clear financial money trail to prove it.

Spot on jaidam, sadly though'' there are none so blind as those that do not wish to see,'' Hence they don their delightful rose tinted spectacles and that causes them to develop selective amnesia and forget the ''spectacles'' of the delights of the Red Shirts violent rampages, looting and arson attacks and the violation of a medical facility.

A news for you and Jaidam:

    1) At least I am not blinded by red or yellow sentiments

    2) This government cannot be held responsible for what happened in 2010. Khun Suthep, surely had his good part on it.

I won't reply again to fanatic posts for today... Telling me to be blind (P.s.: I used that phrase not late than 2 weeks ago).

Red Shirts criminal who did armed attack on 2010 must be jailed for life. Who caused a massacre should be jailed for life as well.

  10. Is there no end to this Yingluck government's brutality. First setting their thugs on spotty bookworms trying to leave their campus, and now this. What a disgrace!

    facepalm.giflaugh.pngcheesy.gif

Yingluck government's brutality... That was a nice joke!

Ok then, show me how you can tell government is being violent NOW, without linking it to 2010 facts.

I laugh because there is NO ANY FACT that shows that Yingluck's government is being violent.

How many people was left dead on the ground during this "peaceful" protests?

Did you take the chance to read the news about what happened this morning?

I wish to see the Shin clan sent off from politics, but tell that this government is violent is just word from a fanatic.

  11. What relevance does yet another cartalucci link have to this thread?

Unfortunately for you, it's Thaksin Shinawatra's US Lobbying Records and they are relevant because all those lobbying groups were/are paid a lot of money to ensure Thaksin's side gets good coverage. Do I need to draw a picture for you. Or any other visual aid to help you comprehend?

Thaksin is the cancer of this country, and it doesn't need a Cartalucci biased article to show us, I guess we are adult enough to see it easily.

Like it is easy to see that another corrupt politician, with family and lobby backing him is trying to force the hand and take the power uncostitutionally and undemorcatically.

Would you deny this? If yes, you are completely sided with him, and that would not need any picture to draw.

P.s.: 50,000 or 5,000 usd per month for a service in your opinion should give good coverage to Thaksin worldwide? So you tell us BBC, CNN, Time, are all bribed? Good to know...

I only guess they tell their opinion, maybe with superficiality and with not much of a competence, but sure accuse them to be bribed it's quite a big statement to be proved...

Great. We have established the most important fact - as you admitted yourself Thaksin is the cancer. So in order to save any patient suffering from cancer a precise surgical operation is needed. Cancer must be completely removed if our patient is to be saved.

I don't think Suthep is interested in being PM or leading the country. He is very well aware that he is not up to it. However, Thais should be grateful to him for trying to stop this current criminal lot from completely destroying the country and robbing Thai taxpayers blind. Government which deliberately loses over 13 billion USD just to stay popular in rural areas is not fit to rule. They blew massive hole in Thai economy. Incompetent fools. Thailand needs to introduce accountability, responsibility and transparency into their political culture if the country is to survive.

BBC and CNN have proven record of being biased. They lost all credibility in 2010. Armed red mobsters and black shirt mercenaries could have been seen from the Moon. Somehow both BBC and CNN failed to see them.wink.png

Shin clan MUST be removed from politics, but as them every other corrupt politicians, and Suthep is not any better than them.

I don't say any thanks to him for his rants, totally out of the human patience. And don't be naive, if he will not have a seat, his cronies or sponsors will have, not much different from Thaksin, isn't he?

BBC and CNN are not sided, neither BRIBED as you affirmed in the previous post. They are just hunting the scoop. And so they loved to give news in that way, but believe me. What happened in 2010 is well beyond what me and you and anyone else thinks. Red shirt guerrilla, and unnecessary killings. Both sides are dirty with blood, mainly for the criminal tactics of the Red Shirts, but also for the way force has been used.

    No excuses for anyone please.

And this is my last reply, as I think I made clear what I think... Politics in Thailand is highly corrupted, there are no angels, and too many devils.

  12. Abhisit is most likely right. Thaksin has been paying big bucks to different lobby groups for years now in order to secure good press coverage. It's all about the money. Whoever pays more, gets the better coverage.

Thaksin Shinawatra US Lobbying Records (2007-2010)

    http://www.scribd.com/doc/113667519/thaksin-shinawatra-us-lobbying-records-2007-2010

And that is only what is known. One thing for sure, media is a big business today.

What relevance does yet another cartalucci link have to this thread?

  13. I wish all the red misted fools would stop trying to pick arguments over silly things. What Abhisit said is right, they hope that Thailand will deal with its problems, they never said they back the government or they don't...Surapong as the puppet master's relative is doing his job as head of propaganda and trying to twist things to suit him, same as any other political party does and Abhisit is refuting his bs same as any other political party has a right to and should do. I don't see where the reds are trying to argue, this is black and white, I see no grey to argue over.

I also did not listen any source affirm they were worried about the 2nd Feb election date.

Or if they are, sure is not about the date, but for those buffons wanting to cancel (they call it postpone) elections.

If reform has to be (and it should be for the good of Thailand), sure must not be under Suthep or Yingluck. But a real neutral panel.

Who believes Suthep will make a People's council, will see what will happen at the end, if for a tragedy he will success.

  14. LOL just goes to show what a bunch of nutters these demonstrators are. with their leader upping the rhetoric, it will only get worse..... its only a matter of time before they get mob violent.

What the hell are you talking about now?

Please explain what you mean by this dopey statement.

It makes no sense... how can you class 1000 people as nutters because of two people?

For all you know, one of them may well have been a red shirt spy. Ever think of that?

There is only one person proven to be a nutter in your post and that is the name on the top of the post.

Nibbles48. Please explain me, because this is so curious to me:

What would you have to spy in a protest site? Given the fact they were not on the stage, so people is not the leaders?

Like the other story where some security beaten a policeman because "spying"... Spying what? I really can't understand the spy story.

  15. If Abhisit knows how to read English - which I assume he does, then he can see for himself who foreigners feel about what is happening in Thailand. No need to rely on CAPO or embassies press statements. He can start by reading comments about what is happening in Thailand on Yahoo. Perhaps that would give him a better perspective on things. PERHAPS.

If you would have been talking to protestors last Sunday in Bangkok you wouldn't make these kind of statements.

I recommend you to have a walk along the protest stages and see what is going on and who is supporting reform.

99% of all foreigners I know and spoke, support reform because they see how this country has been mismanaged more than 2.5 years (or 10 years if you will).

WAGs are not always the best source of info here in LOS.

100% of foreigners I know support reforms. around 2% support Suthep, and believe me: support reforms or Suthep is NOT the same thing.
