Gov here is hell bent on converting over to green energy bulldust, closing conventional generating plants when the replacement required is not in place.
Same for the way they want petrol/diesel vehicles out and gas banned.
Watched as Albo sprooked to the Germans how Aus will become a "world energy power".
Those of us connected to the "real world" are simply gobsmacked.
So it may or may not affect Thai for the moment, but guessing it will come soon.
-
Lesson here is, never leave a construction site unattended.
Ask anyone who has even been there for more than a few days, it's well known.
-
If Thailand anything currently like Aus, expect the cost of energy to soar.
Recent increase here sees domestic price of the Kwh go up 25%.
Commercial even more so at around 48% in one wack from 25c to 37c a unit.
Don't know how that makes any sense given it all comes out of the same cable........... ????
Bit like the local councils who charge 4 times extra for water (coming from the same street main) to a 50mm pipe for fire fighting purpose.
Or a charge for the number of dunnies one has, price per unit. Really, one can only dump so much in any given day surely. ????
Solar farms in Aus are a joke. Gov used foreign contractors to supply/fit the system. Underground wiring is blowing up after a week or so in the ground (crap insulation).
Contractor avoiding the issues and will probably declare themselves broke after an independant quote to repair the issue by reputable mob came in at gazillions.
They didn't REALLY want to have anything to do with someone else's f**up anyhow I guess.
I don't think Albo knows about all of this though. ..........We get it from the guys on the ground there.
Guess you have your own/other problems with the so-called election.
I could never see how that actually works.

Once one has had/used a laser printer, there simply is no going back to the pain-in-the-butt injets and their troublesome/expensive ink.

These are 0-5v dc square wave signals.
No, multimeter will tell you nothing.
There is a small scope available for less than $40.
They work well, have used one here since the flood took out my other bench unit.
So well in fact I've never got around to replacing the former at all.
DSO150............

Mine gets used quite a lot so the only modification I did was to add a LiPo battery and usb charger.
There are online youtube videos on "how to use" and suggest a quick look at a couple of those as well.
Cheers.

One often hears and reads about this "enter on 30 day visa exempt and then get an extention".
May be all well and good as far as visas go but what about the cost and availability of the airline tickets to and fro.
Some airlines may even refuse to allow you to travel without a return ticket.
I've looked at the above before and found it's not worth the effort.
When I travel, I like to have all the possible "hangups" taken care of beforehand so I can simply "go for a holiday" and not have to worry about minor details or saving a couple of bucks that could infringe on your time away.
Fine if you want to enter visa exempt but have the appropriate visa before you leave.
I usually arrange for it to be done well in advance of start of travel ( a couple of months).
Be sure you have the correct amount of time remaining on your passport also as that may throw a spanner in the works.
I think it might be at least 6 months remaining at time of departure.
Others will certainly say "ah, you worry about nothing" but one never hears the full story.

how can one trnslate Thai to English the reverse way but do not think it is that easy?
Here's an eye opener for you, probably been told before but choose to ignore it.
Thai basically do not want you to know what they are talking about, pure and simple.
Yes, I know different ones will tell you how Thai are impressed with how well you know the language, but it's all bulldust.
You stumble along poking a word in here and there, usually wrong alltogether.
The sooner you realise it, the better off you will be.

Anyway, there is a spring mechanism at the back of the plastic shaft which assists to start the fan, as there is no capacitor
It's commonly known as a "synchronous motor" used mostly in washing machine timers, clocks sometimes, oven timers (older ones at least) other uses as well.
One below is from a microwave oven turntable........note that this one has a gearbox attached.

the condenser restarts and starts blowing cold air again
The "condenser" is your outdoor section.
The "fan coil unit" is your indoor section.
The above conditions sound like it is low on refrigerant, or the compressor is shagged.
As they are a "sealed system", any leak would need to be located and repaired if possible, then recharged.
Possibly time to get a new system fitted as repairs these days are hardly worth the effort.
A call to one of the AC guys should get you a more accurate diagnosis.
They can fit guages and do an accurate test.
Too many " would be experts" in here, just confuses the issue.

Police arrested a Thai couple who stole two large car batteries from a local garage in the central province of Chachoengsao and then returned to the scene of the crime and tried to sell the stolen goods back to the unsuspecting owner.
Takes me back to teen years when kids used to do this for the deposit money with softdrink bottles.............????

More importantly, the temperature must be kept below 4 degrees C.
Watched a doc yesterday on cooking of rice and then storing in the frig.
There , you must cool as quickly as possible under running water after cooking, then store in the frig for only 1 day.
Then it can be reheated or served cold.
Apparently some kind of nasty bug can grow in the rice if not done in this manner.
I'd imagine there would be some other conformation out there on the net.(haven't looked yet)

Find your local office and go along with a Thai speaker and a Google map of your place which includes the nearest power. They will tell you what they can do for you.

The escalators all need a good looking in to.
More than once I've been caught out at Suvarnabhumi where one has to hold the brake handle "up" on the luggage trolleys.
It is a fairly simple proceedure but if done incorrectly, it can lead to a trolley run-away.
That plus, if you get it wrong at the end and don't release the brake at an appropriate time, all hell breaks loose.

Seems to me to be a lot of "might have been" problems ...surely a proper investigation is required to give the exact problem and any future action to avoid this happening again.

For around 10 years or more it became manditory to run an earth from the main switchboard to the antenna because of these puppies.
So no longer was it sufficient for a tv tech to install the tv (as they did back then) but also a qualified lecky had to attend as well.
Meant costs doubled, but had to be done as some internal TV fault livened up the antenna and a few people were booted.
Probably not so much the boot but the fall off the ladder that brought about the changes.
TV techs were issued with a "restricted ticket" but this was limited to mostly fitting a plug on a tv/radio.

Rated at 20,000 hours but, of course, that assumes continuous use. In practice, with normal on/off cycles you would probably achieve nothing like that. As you say, it's the driver units that fail.
Yes, just sales pitch.
Currently you may notice that the lifespan claims have been removed from many.
Probably as they had their ass sued for making false or unsubstantiated claims.

No, that is taken from everyday experience as I am qualified in and work in the industry every day, unlike some who simply "think" they know all the answers.

One final note.......most LED internals will never last any where near what the older units would.
Be prepared to replace at more shorter intervals.
It is rarely the LEDs themselves but moreso the driver unit.

The replacements are offered in 330 & 433 Mhz.
Possibly neither...crystal appears to have numbers starting 26***** so may well be an old 27meg unit.
Be aware also that many of these remote Tx are encoded, meaning, whay may appear identical in every way, simply will not work on your system.
Best find who supplied the gate and check with them ( as suggested above).

Whilst on the subject of breaker sizing, I have a related question about cable sizing.
Depends.......aluminium or copper........???
Most would assume copper............so.......
Usual accepted rating (again depends on how it is installed) however ..........
1 sq mm ..........generally 10A.
Most tend to use 1.5 though for lighting and protect with 10A RCBO combo
2.5sq mm for power....again generally 20A but rating can go to 28A...16A RCBO
Any 15A point we tend to use 4 sq mm and 20A RCBO.
4.0 sq mm ....32A max.
6.0sq mm .....around the 40A mark
Above does not take voltage drop into account ........
