I have heard that international visitors are getting sick of this welcome to country bulldust every time an overseas aircraft lands in Aus. as well.

Add to this the seemingly constant name changes to Islands, land areas, lakes etc etc...........even for a local, it is a matter of having to Google where the hell the latest news clip is referring to.

First photo doesn't add up to your explanation.............is power coming directly into this "switch box" first or does it come via the float switch.

i.e. what is the small black cable lower left connected to the "house pump" switch? Is that the cable going to your house pump 

Cannot say for certain (too little detail)  but it certainly "looks like" someone was after some free power with that extra cable...... ????

Correct but....the output shown is only half wave rectification so the output value shown is incorrect.

It's actually closer to 1/2 that shown.

Also be aware your 24VAC when rectified and smoothed will give you approx. 1.4 times the AC figure ........ so expect 33.6v DC on the output.

This may or may not be a problem as the details of the valve are not shown here.

Might pay to give some thought to a "pulsed" type valve which opens and closes with a voltage pulse (and usually lower voltage around 12v) rather than needing continual power to remain open.

Might also pay to look at plug pack type supply (smps) as they already have everything needed and are all enclosed for your safety.(and probably much cheaper alternative) 12v are more common type.

Each of the valve types have their advantages/ disadvantages.

They made them compulsory install here for a couple of years about 10 years ago, and were removed within 2 to 3 years at considerable cost I might add.

Been removed all over, replaced with the age old storage units.

Claims they make were at best, wildly over rated.

End result was, any used had to be removed and now it is a mandatory requirement that all power be cut at the main switch before entering a ceiling by any tradesperson.

Sadly though, the D*** heads who make these rules failed to recognise that incoming mains cannot be isolated, at least by "any tradesperson".

Then there are the situations such as hospitals but that's another story.

Makes one wonder why.....surely they have their own supply back home.

Insulation associated with the fitting internal components, any wiring attached, all contribute to the need to keep ceiling insulation at a distance whether flammable or not.

Also consider the de-rating factor applied to any and all ceiling cabling while using on the ceiling insulation.

In my opinion, any ceiling insulation should be up top, just under the roof battons, to keep as much heat out as possible.

Anywhere else is simply "an oven" keeping any hot air inside.

It's still a mistake going 4 circuits to an elcb rather than single RCBO's regardless, for the reason I mentioned.

Wait until the day comes when you have to find a defect, and it will.

As I also mentioned, space is also a concern.

Might pay to mention that any work performed here by falang is under scrutiny so I'd make sure to have appropriate work permit.

Also be prepared to fork out if you decide to "bring stuff in" and get noticed, which could possibly be even after the fact.

In short, don't be a smart arse, they(authorities) don't like it one bit.

Do you have a photo of the nameplate on the charger?

It will show whether a 2 or 3 pin plug will suffice.

Look for a "double insulated" symbol which I suspect it will be.

Any other comments are irrelevant until one knows this info.

It's a mistake to run (as in your case) 4 circuits from each of the rcd's.

Any one of which will trip the rcd and render 4 circuits inoperable.

Single combo's are available here, and I'd argue very little, if any, difference in cost with the added obvious advantage when tripped but also in board space.

About time too..........tourists take too many liberties with others traditions etc. 

Most of the time from pure ignorance and don't give a toss attitude.

About time the authorities start doing checks on these commercial vehicles for "faulty brakes".

It's a wonder some local hasn't picked up on it and opened a business to fix these machines.

They would do a roaring trade given the number of reported incidents with this fault.

I clicked the link and apart from the photo of some kind of transport ( just guessing) I too am none the wiser.

There was reference to some underground transport though ....

You get to and from the new terminal from the main building via a driverless underground shuttle which runs to and from the main terminal almost continuously.

Draw a diagram of your intended connections /breakers/main switch/ links etc. 

Following ones description can be misleading.

(1 example) ....Main neutral should not be switched and yes, there should be a neutral link bar as well as an earth link bar.

The MEN link is then, just that, a link between the two.
