  1. Professional bribery expert isn't on the list of occupations.
  2. I'm British.........they aren't 'my own', they're a pair of trouble making dipsticks who deserved what they got, probably haven't a brain between them so a kick to the head could do no harm.
  3. Not necessarily, the cute little monsters (she aint cute) aren't as innocent as they look. About 25 years ago there was a case in Germany where a 14 year old girl was encouraging her school friends to offer blow jobs to men at a certain pub in her town, the police took her to identify all the men she had serviced and arrested them.
  4. How do you know it was simple? We only have his word that it was botched, it isn't all that unusual that limbs are shortened after a traumatic accident.
  5. Yes, this wasn't an advisory, it was a warning.
  6. Like tourists care, or even know about, the political situation in Thailand, this isn't Ukraine after all. They've miscalculated their exaggerations and the political impasse will have to make do as an excuse. Why would they be wary of demonstrations, they would watch the punch up, not take part in it.
  7. Life can be tough but as you say, one has to roll with the punches. With the proper shoes this won't interfere with his hobby, he could reinvent himself as 'Conner the limp McBride'.
  8. In a rural environment buffaloes crossing the road are to be expected. At night this is a danger and although often seeing buffalo at the roadside during the day I have never seen one out at night, I've seen them being herded into their stalls in the evening.
  9. In the UK it's usually a civilized wife beating (guns are hard to come by) but apart from that there are the indiscriminate stabbings on the street which one doesn't seem to get in Thailand. Jealousy is a human emotion that even Brits experience.
  10. Not necessarily, if the cobra only felt startled but wasn't attacked it needn't have used venom, venom is valuable to the snake and needs to be replenished so it won't waste it but will save it for its prey which she obviously wasn't.
  11. He's looking for luuuuv outside holy hours. It's just a phase he's going through and I dare say he's been through a lot and not just the monks.
  12. Just the normal lies and meaningless slogans we feed the mob with at election time is what he meant.
  13. Not protesters, enthusiastic supporters (spin doctors bread and butter exercise)
  14. A day's outing to look for watch parts at the site.
  15. Premeditated murder? doesn't sound as if he meditated on it much. He must be brain dead to admit that, a crime of passion, self defense, anything would have gotten him a lighter sentence, he obviously isn't the sharpest knife in the box.
  16. Not very falang friendly, didn't he once suggest getting rid of all road direction signs containing English words, only Thai allowed? I think his appointment will cause street riots, it's pretty blatant isn't it, we don't give a s*** about what you want.
  17. So basically he is confirming PT will form a government in two weeks.
  18. No, even I'm not keen on being British, here he has extended family, farmland, two houses and will be studying (16 yrs old) What would he have in the UK.....nothing and another citizenship could be a disadvantage in the future. I would have considered it but for Brexit. If we were still in the EU he could have chosen to live in any European country without hassle.
  19. No, just a normal retirement visa. At my old address I had a marriage visa. When my son was born I had to legalize our father/son relationship at a court of law so perhaps that's how immigration got the details.
  20. Cambodia is a good alternative, no way would I go back to the UK, after more than a 50 year absence it is a foreign country as far as I'm concerned. I think however the worry is blown out of all proportion, I can remember the last changes to the regulations......and here we all are, worrying again.
  21. I don't know, obviously things like where I used to live with my wife has come from the yellow book when I relocated to a different province, That they knew about me being investigated for the suitability of being a co-carer with my partner of two small children in our household (I now take care of their children) has come from the Youth welfare office (a very detailed investigation with lots of interviews with her relatives, the children and possibly contact with German authorities as they knew of my divorce in Munich, took 3 months), I being a foreigner they probably reported the findings to immigration. That I hadn't left Thailand was apparent because I had never applied for a re-entry permit. I don't know why they should know about my son except that my name was on the birth certificate although why it should be necessary to inform immigration of his birth, he being Thai, I can't imagine. I have the feeling that they know more about us than we realize.
