Trump is doing what has to be done, the out of control national and fiscal debt can only be solved by a huge dollar devaluation and a gradual loss of the reserve currency status. Trump is attempting to do this through chaos, by blaming other sovereign states for producing quality affordable goods that Americans want to buy with debt supplied by these same sovereign countries. It has become clear to most economists that this state of affairs can't continue. A well educated president with a competent cabinet could have explained this in a dignified coherent manner but Trump isn't an intelligent man and lacks honesty and dignity while he has surrounded himself with an incompetent team of sycophants, so instead he uses chaos and threats while attempting to water down the constitution. His MAGA base aren't the sharpest knives in the draw, flag saluting, hand on heart credit card holders who believe it is their God given right to consume what others produce using borrowed money. It is understandable that Trump (and many others) see the only solution ist to bring back America's industrial base and start exporting to the world and to produce goods for the American market, first step has to be to debase the Dollar (which he is doing). This wont work, even with a debased currency American workers earn too much, how could a Chinese worker earning just a few Dollars an hour buy an American car? Where will America find cheap labor to produce mass quantities of Iphones at an affordable price? American companies already invested in Asia with secure supply lines aren't going to up sticks and invest billions in the chaos that is America, there is a whole world to sell their products too, America will just be left behind. The solution......I have no idea but America could start with humility.

Anyway my German bank knows me well, I've been with them for 35 years and of course Wise knows where I live, telling porkies can lead to loss of service.

Unfortunately when I ordered the card from Germany they sent me a debit card without even ATM ability even though I specifically asked them for it. They apologized of course and offered to send me the correct card but this means they (the factory that makes them) would instantly cancel the card I have, it can take 6 to 8 weeks before a new card arrives so I'm staying with what I have, it's good enough for wise. The last time I waited for a card it took so long that I filled out an online form for international bank transfers..... "We cant do that, you have to sign it in front of us". I rang them up and spoke to the bank manager, who knew me, "Just this once but not again". My German friends are not very flexible.

Being old and old fashioned I have always paid cash and never thought to buy online, so I know nothing. 6 months ago I tried buying an anti-virus program online using my Bangkok bank debit card, it was refused. I tried using my German debit card, this was also refused. My German bank told me that I can't use the card to buy online outside of Europe. My Bangkok bank lady said that to use the Bangkok bank debit card online I have to ring up the number on the back of the card but on reading it the number was just to report finding a lost card. I was thinking of taking a holiday in Cambodia but saw on the website that I should buy a e visa online for 30 dollars, I haven't tried yet (dollars is an increase in the difficulties perhaps. I can't apply for a German credit card because I'm outside of Europe, to apply I must have an address there. It seems unlikely that I could get a Thai credit card and anyway I would rarely use it. Paypal seems out of the question NDID doesn't like our ID number. People seem to buy online all the time, how do you do it?

My son (18) could be taken for both Thai and falang (white skin, falang nose, his dark eyes are a bit Thai, a bit falang, black hair. He's never had any problems. He speaks both Thai and English fluently, his English teacher has given over the English class to him to teach because his own pronunciation is so abysmal (he once introduced himself to me as "I am a teacher", I understood, I am a tee shirt). He wouldn't look foreign in London or Bangkok.
